Hi,
I'm looking for tool to monitor my network connection with my provider. For WM6.1. (S730-S740).
I need a tool that can be displayed on the home screen and it only has to display if there is a good connection with my network(only GSM is necessary)
Hopefully one of you guys could help me with it.

Hey,
Has anyone seen any network monitoring software for the xda ii? By network monitoring I mean a program that displays site ID & sector, signal strength/distance from site. Basicaly I'm after the equivalent of engineering mode on Nokia phones.
Cheers for any help.
Hi guys, I hope someone can clear things up for me.
I would like to use a data usage utility for my Pocket PC (WM6). Then I came accross SPB GPRS Monitor (V2.5.1). I would like to know if somebody can confirm if this also works for keeping track of 3G/HSDPA data connections.
I have searched on Google and such and I read different things. While alot of people say that it DOES work, an official SPB representative told me that it does NOT work...
Now I'm confused... I would really like to know if SPB GPRS Monitor (V2.5.1) supports 3G/HSDPA connections before I decide to purchase the utility.
Thanks in advance!!
Yes it works , at least on my TyTn II , just check in options "enable connection monitoring" and choose your G/E/3g/H or whatever connection.
as far as i know what type of connection hsdpa or old gprs
is 100% transparent for the os
it's only the speed which differs
works perfectly
jus choose the connection in profile option and activate connection monitoring
another confirmation: yes it works flawlessly on 3G
and the same amount of transfered data is shared anyway if connection speed differs because of poor umts signal and need to swith to slower protocols (in my case with a fixed month limit has been one of my targets for such application)
thanx!!
Hey guyz, thanx alot for your responses! If it works for 3G/HSDPA as you say, then I will purchase it! I also have a 1-month limit, so this program should prove useful indeed
Good stuff.
Thanx guyz
Good news. I was wondering myself how I could keep a record of my data usage. I'm not too bothered if the program doesn't differential between GPRS and HSDPA so long as it logs HSDPA.
Is there a similar program that can be used to log WiFi data?
I searched a lot but am not able to find a solution to my issue

any update to my query
is anyone aware how I could achieve the Cell Info Display on WM7 mango?
I dont think this is supported at all.
For Location Information you can use search button and under the search bar you will see your current location provided by GPS or AGPS (this would be much more accurate than tower location information)

well I am aware of getting the info via GPS / AGPS. The main use of Cell Broadcast / Cell Info Display / Area Info that Cell operators send service messages / current tower from where we are receiving the signal and some other info which is not possible via GPS / AGPS. Hence needed to enable Cell Broadcast / Cell Info Display / Area Info for the Windows Mango phone. I have regular mobiles in which this can be easily displayed by going in to settings but I see no feature in Windows Mango phone
chk out this thread .. it is the same thing for this thread.. and what i also looking for

That's probably because "Windows Mobile 7" never shipped on any phones. The project was cancelled a couple of years back and none of the software or handsets was ever released.
So has any one found a solution to this issue?
I think this is a necessity, because like in my area the telecom company if told which Cell Tower is shown up on the display fixes the issues a lot faster than if we just told them the area. Because this Cell Tower helps them identify the exact tower which is causing the problem, rather than having to roam around multiple towers to find which tower is the problematic tower.
Hello,
My phone is always on roaming mode (without cost). So the R is always displayed and it's not possible to know if we are connected nor the speed (H or 3G).
I want to write a software which display an icon H, 3G or none when the phone is connected or not. But what is the best way? Service or not? Activity or not? Service called by activity? Service without activity?
Thanks to help me
Hello,
I hope my title will help to find this topic.
In fact, I'm looking from year a solution to force or help my phone to choose the operator / Carrier I want.
Before, I had a phone plan without roaming and my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7) alway search to connect to my home operator and drain the battery !
Now I have an internationnal phone plan and even when I am in the other country my phone continu to connect to my home opertor even if the roaming opertaor is better.
The automatic search take time and finish with the same operator that before most of the time. And the manuel search take to much time (during that I can't use my phone) and when I came back at home, my phone loose the connection of course.
So is there a way to use easely a phone near a border ??
I think that Xposed could help me but I read the description of the module (https://repo.xposed.info/module/net.caze.roamingcontrol) and it doesn't change the way that the automatic search works or create a list of prefered operator ordered.
15 year ago I had a phone from Philips witch offer this functionnality, I'm quite optimist that a solution is possible.
Thanks in advance for you help.

Samsung Galaxy S7 should have the feature to automatically switch the mobile network provider.
Check settings - connections - mobile networks - network provider ... select the option to automatically switch.
Hello, of course you can choose the automatically switch in S7 but it doesn't work. When you choose this option (and you have to do manualy) if you a provider is avaible the phone will keep this one even if it's not your prefered or the most powerfull. The automacally connection works only when you have lost your actual provider.
