I have a HTC Touch Cruise and I need to connect it via USB to PC and that the PC recognize it like a modem (COM 2, or 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ...).
It is for making a data call via PC software ( hyperterminal for example)
I don't need to make a share conexion to connect Internet, I only need that my HTC was recognized like a modem like when I connect a mobile phone Motorola V3 via USB to the PC, and the PC recognizes it like a Motorola USB Modem
Thanks

Hi
i have Htc Touch Pro GSM. Windows 6.5
i want to use my HTC as a 3g modem/HSDPA in my desktop, in my Desktop operating system is windows 7 , i couldn't find the way how to connect my PC with 3g modem with data Cable ( mini USB Cable), plz help me
Just updated my phone (Nexus S) to cm-10.1-20121223-NIGHTLY-crespo. While it works fine as of now, one problem I am facing is when I connect it to the PC with the cable, though it goes into storage mode on the screen, however it does not show up in the PC. This prevents me from copying files from my computer to my phone.
It shows up in the device manager as a recognized Samsung device, but does not show in My Computer.......Any idea why this could be happenning ?
Thanks
I hope you have installed drivers and phone by USB direct to pc port not thru USB hub.
Happened to me once using USB hub cannot transfer files, so I connect direct and it works.
Every time I plug my phone into the PC via USB to load music/whatever, as soon as I disconnect the USB cable, my computer loses it's WIFI connection and I have to reboot to get back online.
The computer only does this with my Photon Q. I've tried an HTC Desire Z and a Samsung S4 and neither cause the same issue.
It's... Windows? XP? 7? ... 8?
I've connected my Q (in the past, mind you) to many Windows machines and never experienced this - although I don't think any were XP.
Aaaand ... you're not tethering via USB, right?
Hi! My name is Recoder. I recently brought a new Google Nexus 5 (16GB Black) and have a Tata Docomo 3G Connection (India).
I would actually like to Reverse Tether my Phone (so as to get my PC Highspeed internet on my phone, since the mobile network is a bit choppy at times, and the connection times out very frequently). But in order to reverse tether (without Root), I need to get my Phone recognized as a Tethered Mobile on my PC.
I am actually a beginner in Tethering.
1. I connected the Phone to PC via USB, and clicked on USB Tethering. (it says tethered), but my PC keeps on installed Remote NDIS Driver forever and finally says Driver not installed nor does it recognizes my Phone. (It Gets Recognized as a PTP, MTP Device)
2. I have USB Debugging Enabled (don't know whats that for). Disabling it does not make any difference.
3. I tried the Google USB Driver but it does not have the driver for Nexus 5, and with usb debug enabled, it comes as a Samsung Android ADB Composite Device.
So Please help my how to Tether my Phone (Step by step if possible, since its my first time)
I don't want to root my new Nexus.
With Warm Regards,
Super Recoder
when i connect my HTC U11 to my PC windows 10, no USB activity initiates, i can't use ATP, MTP or mass storage to transfer data between my phone and the PC, only my phone gets charged, and no any pop up message shown on my pc or my phone, and there is no USB status or option on my phone shows there is an active USB connection, also on my PC the device manager doesn't show there is a connected phone at all.
please let avoid ordinary precautions, as i am using new original USB data cable with high speed, i have reinstalled HTC sync manager, and restarted both PC and HTC, all drivers are updated.
i tried to connect another HTC 10 and Samsung note 4, and both are working on the same cable and same windows with a same USB port.
i doubt there is something with advanced options, as i tried 1 month ago to make USB tethering and tried to create entire iso image of the internal memory.
i tried the 3 phones on another computer and gives me the same results, all phone worked and recognized except for HTC U11.
is the USB port in my HTC U11 is broken?
please help
