since some weeks I am using an HTC Touch Dual with an original ROM running Win Mobile 6.1. Until last week I synced with my home PC only. On that PC I got Birdie Sync running to sync with Mozilla Thunderbird and Sunbird. Everything worked smoothly and when a call came in the phone showed the name and a picture of the caller.
Last week started to also sync with my work pc. There we use Outlook 2007. The sync worked perfectly fine, but on incoming calls the phone just shows the number of the caller but neither the name nor the pic.
Even to restore a backup of the pim database (pim.vol) did not help. So my assumption is that Outlook 2007 is messing up the registry on my mobile.
Does anybody have a clue what might cause this problem?

i am having problems when syncing my universal with my notebook's outlook.
it seems that only appointments in pda are recognized.if i enter an appointment in my notebook and sync ,this entry is deleted from outlook ,when actually i would like that after syncing appointments from both sources are kept ,eliminating duplicates.
also ,appointments are only being kept for a month.if i go in active sync settings in my pda ,options ,calendar ,will it help if i change 1 month to all?
or in this way all appointments will be wiped out.
i am using pocket informant on my pda and notebook is running with vista business

Hi! I have just updated my AT&T Tilt to the new TPC WM6.5 ROM

and I started to have the same issue. I sync my Outlook with an Exchange Server. I sync my Tilt with my PC, as the Outlook is behind a firewall.
So this happens:
- Appointments that I've entered prior to the 1st sync - OK
- Appointments I receive via Email (VCalendar), appear in the Outlook and are synced to the Tilt. I unplug the tilt for several hours, reconnect and sync, those appointments dissapear both in the Tilt and in the Outlook
Any ideas???

I'm using an O2 stellar and I cannot get it to sync the exchange inbox no matter what I do. It will sync other folders without a hitch but flatly refuses to do the inbox.
The only way around this seems to be to have an exchange rule to move all incoming mail to another folder and then sync with that, which works but it's damned annoying.
A work colleague is having a similar problem and we have no idea what the common problem is other than the server.
Can anyone help?

Hi all
There's something I never understood... How does the synchronizing of contacts with outlook work? I mean, sometimes it does exactly what I want, and others i just find no way of doing it. Here's an example
I had my girlfriend as a contact, with a photograph , 3 phone numbers, adress email etc... it was synced ok with outlook..
now i changed the photograph, and everytime I synced it with outlook it would revert back to the old, meaning the outlook data came over data on the phone. so i decided to delete the outlook contact, thinking it would copy it back when i synced again. But no, it just wouldn't pass on from the phone to the PC... So i created a blank contact with her name in outlook, so that it could just add the data from the phone (including picture). but happened is all the data on the phone got erased... phone numbers and everything...(except her name... thanks...)
I just don't understand how something like that can happen..
(I have a pdaviet rom on a touch elfin i don't know if that's relevant)

I used the lastest Sprite backup software (6.5.2) to transfer contacts only from my old phone to a new one, (HTC s620 to Touch HD).
It worked, I think, but the contacts are not recognized, that is the number is in the contact list but when someone phones or texts the phone doesnt recognise the number / contact.
e.g. contact Fred has number 01234 567890 and the number 01234 567890 calls and is displayed but Fred is not found or displayed.
Have you any idea what is going on? this may be nothing to do with Sprite? but is really annoying!
This also happened when I upgraded the ROM in the HTC S620, using an earlier version.
OR has anybody got any suggestions for getting contacts from a S620 to a Touch HD without using outlook?

I have the HTC Touch Pro and am having difficulty with my work email account syncing properly with the phone. When I first got the phone and setup the outlook email through exchange the emails flowed into my phone simultaneously. However a week or so ago I accidentally cleared all my data back to the phone default settings as to when I bought it. My yahoo email still shows up properly, but my outlook account only syncs when I am at work logged into our system, or when I log into the exchange network. Once I log out of the system, the incoming emails stop showing up on my phone. Can you tell me why I wouldn't be able to get my outlook email at all times of the day, even when I am not logged into the system? Really it is pointless to only have my outlook email update on my phone when I am sitting at a computer viewing. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!
