Hello,
This morning I was in the market ( My Apps) and i chose Update all option. Loads of apps started to download, and after few minutes my phone froze. So i removed the battery and since then I', stuck in the bootloader menu:

I can't do factory reset or access recovery. At some point I have successfully ran RUU, problem is I'm on UK O2 but being complete idiot I installed 3's ROM. Even the 3's ROM don't boot up. I can't run RUU anymore, because every time RUU is trying to reboot into boot loader it get stuck.
So,
I got phone from O2 that has a 3 logo (its stuck on it),
I have S-OFF phone so it probably voided the warranty.
Can anyone think of any solution please?
Thanks in advance for your help guys.
If you need more info please let me know.

Does adb works yor you ?
yeap I have also created a topic on this.
I had to send mine back to HTC to fix.
What I would like to know is, if you send it back to HTC, would they notice the s-off and charge you money?
What ROMs were you all on? I got a similar problem on stock ROM after XTC Clip S-OFF, but a battery pull fixed it. I guess this only happens with S-OFF stock ROMs, so switch to avoid this.

Remember with adb you need to be in Fastboot not Hboot! Very important. Cab you get into Fastboot?

Try flashing the eng hboot by PB88IMG method, and then try and run the correct RUU. That's my best idea.

I have tried that, but I got the error that I can't roll back to older version of hboot.
I have just booked my phone for repair.. I'm gonna act stupid. I'll tell them that my friend installed something on my phone etc. Probably won't work... I will let you know what they said.
HTC gave me some terms and conditions to read and one of the says:
2.3 NonWarranty chargeable Repair Service
a) Repair of a Device that is
In-Warranty but which needs to be repaired including the following or similar
reasons shall be classified as a NonWarranty chargeable Repair Service:
1) Accidental damage. Accidental damage to the Device, such as dropping it
on the ground or in water. 2) Broken Liquid Crystal Display (hereinafter
known as “LCD”). 3) Damaged Sync or Charger Connector. 4) Damage
caused by liquid entering the Device, or other misuse due to the failure of the
Customer to follow the instructions properly. 5) Failure of the Customer to
upgrade the software according to the procedures outlined under the
warranty terms card of the Device. 6) Downloading illegal software onto the
Device. 7) Where the fault is caused by downloading illegal software onto the Device
or other accidental damage, the Customer shall be required to pay for spare
parts, labour, diagnosis and software refurbishment along with shipping and
handling charges.

Wrong.
Its not illegal but you have probably invalidated your warranty. The thing is HTC have to bother to check your phone for custom software and a lot of the time they do.
Quick update.
I have sent my phone to HTC for repair under warranty yesterday. I have checked the status today, and it says "We are repairing your phone" So it looks like HTC don't check if the phone was rooted or have S-OFF
I've done the same i tried to flash a ruu image that was the wrong one i followed a thread on how to get s-on again just so i knew i could. I got s-on but now my phone is stuck on bootloader and is not recognised by the pc Please let me know how you get on and if you get charged as i will be doing the same i think.

I did a bad, bad thing. I thought I understood the process much better than I actually did and quickly found myself in over my head. Now I'm worried that I have a permanently bricked, very expensive paperweight on my hands. Is there any hope for recovering my Sensation?
My goal was to install CM9.
These are the steps that led to this problem:
Did the HTC Dev Unlock through the HTC website.
I used the KGS Utility v6.6 to root the device. The script told me it was successful, but I opened a terminal on the phone and couldn't tell if I had root priveleges.
Tried Juopunutbear to S-Off, but the script said it couldn't find device. “Connect Device and Install Drivers.”
Stupidly following directions I found online, I used the One X All In One Kit v1.0. I thought this was specifically for the Sensation at the time. I hit the button to flash the kernal and that's where my troubles begin. Couldn't get past HTC loading screen.
Power Button + Down volume to get into boot loader, instead. “Recovery” and “Factory Setting” in Fastboot wouldn't load anything at all.
Tried using Fastboot in a command line. I attempted to install a recovery image, but it wouldn't take. The bootloader was in “relocked” mode.
An online thread I found said that you can't flash a recovery unless your bootloader is unlocked. I took the advice in that thread and told Fastboot to use the Unlock_code.bin file once again. The phone said it was about to unlock. Then it completely shut off.
The phone will not turn on, and I can't even get it to boot into recovery mode.
Is there any hope for me? Thanks in advance for your help.

Thats a brick all right. You can always try the unbricking method by dexter in the dev section but for this specific case, dont get your hopes up because I dont think it will work but its worth a try.
If it doesnt work the only way to unbrick is to find someone who can JTAG it

That's unfortunate, but I didn't even know about JTAG until today. It's good to know at least that there is a silver lining. I was worried that there were no possible solutions to get it back up and running.

One thing I will say about JTAG is dont do it yourself, it is too easy to get it wrong and besides the jtag box costs a lot of money so its cheaper to send it to someone who does it for buisness than to buy the hardware

First and foremost, contact HTC. They don't check bricked devices.
Also, it doesn't matter if you bought the phone used because the warranty is traced by the serial number of the device.
Contact them & say that the phone randomly switched off & never came back on.
If they find the device to be in warranty, which is most likely, then they will replace the mobo on the phone.
You shouldn't have any hardware modified on the phone & all the warranty stickers should be present.
Try using dexters HTC sensation unbrick tool, if that doesn't work then try looking for a jtagging service. If your from the UK then try fonefunshop.com

I used the HTC Dev Unlock tool through their website. I was under the impression that doing that voids your warranty? Does anyone happen to know?
Also, a question about JTAG-ing the phone. Does that process also restore the operating system or just get you into Hboot? Just curious if I'll end up with a fully functional phone through a JTAG service (in case HTC can't help).

I don't think you will have problems.. With htc-dev unlock... As it said it may void the warranty but not it Will void the warranty.. Also your issue seems like hardware side.. So hardware issues will not be voided even if you do htc-dev unlock afaik

JTAG forces the correct files onto the partitions of your phone however it wont do it for boot, system or data partitions because that would make the resurector dll enormous to download, as it is the resurecter is already over 15mb.
After JTAG then I would suggest flash an RUU or custom ROM immediately because after JTAG phone boots but is unstable.

JTAG will not solve any hardware faults & this seems like a hardware fault. Remember, once you try JTAG, warranty is void even if you had it before.
Talk to HTC support first. They will not check anything at all on the phone. If you don't try, it's your loss.
There's no need to mention anything about what happened. Just say it happened randomly.

Yes but the unlock token is still software, not hardware and from what I can gather the One X kernel thing is flashed to a different partition on the eMMC chip than a sensation kernel so this looks to me (I could be wrong if course) that a kernel was flashed to a partition containing other data which resulted in that data being erased/overwritten

Yes I just an international student come to Au for study. it is the result I flash rom trick roid version 7.1( say suitable for s3 and s4). After I cannot do anything after the install rom process I try to lock the bootloader to take repair from the services( hope it work but it not) the phone shut down and no more signal to come normal state
Only trickdroid 1.0.0 is compatible with s3 , there is a separate link for that , if you can boot to recovery just flash that rom , if you can't try to boot to fastboot and reflash a compatible s3 recovery , you will need the compatible s3 twrp recovery ....try this

This sounds like your motherboard is dead. If you have warranty, then I suggest you to take the phone to service and just act dumb . You just make something up, like you were talking and the phone frozen, then you've tried to reboot it, and after that the phone just won't start any more. You've got nothing to loose.
thanks for your suggestion. but I have do it and they know that not in the warranty. they say replace the main board need 350$AUD. that why I take my phone back cause I can buy another just 500$ now. I try to find other solution to this issue here

I have encountered a problem before where my battery was totally dead, wouldn't charge nothing. I would plug it into the charger and the orange light would come on to indicate that it was charging but only for a few seconds and then go off again. I'm just wondering if you have the same problem as I know a possible workaround for this.
Thanks for you suggest but I get the problem by bootloader not because the battery( my phone is 1 month new)
Could anyone help me with this problem please
Is there anyone know this??? Please help me
I think it's save to say, that you need a new phone/mainboard for it. I would've read more about the S3 ROMs before flashing anything.
My phone basically took a dump a couple weeks ago. It was stock and unrooted and got stuck in a boot loop. Everthing I have tried including installing custom roms and installing a ruu has been unable to fix the problem. Phone will not boot into a recovery or preform a factory reset, the only option from the bootloader that works is fastboot. The fact I unlocked the boatloader trying to fix the problem means htc won't cover it under warranty.
My problem appears to be software related but any software fix I try has no effect so I'm thinking it's more related to a hardware fault stopping it from booting.
I'm wondering how much of the phone is included in the motherboard? I'm assuming the. CPU, ram and storage is built into the motherboard? If I was to buy a cheap banged up functional one s from eBay with a broken screen or whatnot would changing the motherboard be the ultimate repair?
My phone is only a month old and is in mint condition other then the booting problem. I'm kind of hesitant to give up on it and just buy a new phone as I'd hate to have such an expensive paper weight. If I can fix it for a decent amount I'd prefer to do that...
Only a month old? Does it not have a warranty?

Htc won't cover it because the bootloader was unlocked.
Yes I've tried a ruu and it installs fine but doesn't fix the problem. I ended up selling it for parts and my new one s is in the mail. I found a bnib one s for $250 so it's not a huge loss. The original phone I bought new off Craigslist minus the price I got for selling my broken one for parts and then adding the new phone I'm still below the retail price so I guess I'm technically coming out on too. Here's hoping this one doesn't take a dump...
Just to let you know a lot of people are buyine the 1s new with a "relocked" bootloader so if you can get everything back to stock with a relocked relocked bootloader you shouldn't have trouble. Don't ask me why some ship new with a relocked bootloader but I've read it in a few places and its a mystery to me.
I have a htc x AT & T one that will not start, I have looked in several forums and have not found the solution, I need help?
1. When the phone is connected to the mains or red light.
2. At precionar the power button for several seguntos the buttons below gives no flash and no response.
3. When I connect the phone to a PC with Windows only recognizes QHSUSB_DLOAD no response from phone.
This happened after installing RUU 3.18.502.6.
have any solution for my case?
This has happened to a few people. Were you rooted with SuperCID? It's not clear what the cause is, but your phone is bricked.
It's possible the jet tool might be able to unbrick it. There is also a service called jtag that will cost around $75.
You sir, are screwed. QHSUSB_DLOAD means the phone is most likely bricked.
Did you have SuperCID? You should have read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181929
You can try the unbrick evita thread. You'll need a Linux boot disk. If you can't pull up the emmc partitions then you're SOL. Which is most likely the case but doesn't hurt to check right?
If you manage to restore your phone be sure to s-off before trying to ruu again.
