creating contacts from googlemaps/telephone number format wrong - General Questions and Answers

Hi!
I'm using a X1 and I wanted to create a contact from a google maps entry. These entries have phone numbers in the following format:
0123/567890
But my phone does not recognize the "/"
And when I want to call this new contact it only dials until the "/"
I know that this problem is a Windows Mobile problem and not a X1 problem. Is ther maybe any registry entry with ignore signs? Maybe I can add the "/" there.
Does anybody know how to solve ths problem?

Get SKtools, will do all you wishes
to show only the sim contacts you will need to change registry entries as shown below using a registry editor
HKCU - control panel - phone create new dword -> showsim with value 0
change value to 1 to show sim and contacts.
in your contacts options you can choose to view names only, or names and numbers by unchecking the box

Inserting more than 1 similar type of contact details

Hi guys, my question might sound stupid as I'm new to windows mobile, but I can't seem to be able to find a way to insert more than 1 similar type of contact details under the same contact.
Say for eg I use 2 mobile numbers or 2 landline numbers, but when I try to save them under the same contact head I just get 1 option for each type of contact. Surprisingly I couldn't find any option to edit my own label as well. Any idea what could be done in this scenario???
Isn't there any solution to my question???
I face the same issue...
any suggestion?
Try put those numbers into other fields, such as "work2 tel", "home2 tel"... Some 3rd party softwares can do that but their fields are not compatible with MS Outlook on PC.
Well, thats not a solution, is it? Thats just ignoring an issue... I know I can save in other fields but if I try to transfer some contacts from my s60 where I have stored them properly then the 2nd entry gets deleted automatically, thats annoying & I dont even know how many of my contacts has already been messed up like that.... Pheww...!!!
Windows Mobile takes contacts as it is defined in MS Outlook. And by design Outlook takes only one contact Information. Theres no other solution.

Outlook supports 2 Business numbers, 2 Home numbers, 1 Mobile number plus a bunch of other numbers like Other and Company. Try adding your extra fields in Outlook and then sync to your phone, hopefully the extra numbers will appear in your contact record. Just use the drop-down selector in Outlook to pick the fields you want to view and fill them in.
Yeah that seems a good idea, will give that a try...

HTC Touch Pro - Problems with SMS and Contactbook

Hello folks.
I got my brand new Touch Pro today and have (I hope) a small problem.
I synchronized Outlook 2007 contact book with my HTC Touch Pro and sent kind of a group message to my friends, but when they reply back, only a number is being shown, so even If they are stored in my contact book (their number is stored as a mobile number) their name is not appearing and when i click on their name a message pops up that this number is not stored in the contact book (even if it is).
Is this a bug or just a matter of some settings ?
Thanks a lot for your help
How did you send the sms? And what format does the phone number when you received it? It might explain what happened.
The solution was
"Use a registry editor and go to HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value is by default 8, i.e 8 Digits. Change that to 7 and soft reset."

[Q] display caller company ?

Hi all,
Is there a way to display the company name (from the field in the address book) during an incomming call, along with the first and last name of the caller ?
There is an app called 'Call Informer' for Android which can display contact information when the phone rings, I'm looking for a way to do the same on Windows Phone devices !
Thanks in advance.
I think OS is too 'locked down' to allow in WP. Nice feature if it was possible!
Sent from my HD7 using Board Express
I have saved many names like this: First Lastname (Company). Workaround I know but gets the job done.

And you could that quite easily by exporting your contacts in a csv file, then in excel just add a column to the left of LastName and add some funtion like =A1&" ("&F1&")", where A is the column with all the lastname and F is hypothetically the column with all the companies names.
Then you could expand the function with some IFs to check if the cell under Company is empty or not.
Then Copy and Paste over the new column al the values, Paste as Values (V), delete the old LastName column, save as a csv, import again in your account, et voila.
(remember to delete all the contacts before importing this new csv file)

[Q] Problem with the "Space" in the Contact Names

Can anybody help me to fix the serious problem I am facing across all the android phones I used and using so far.
The problem begun when I switched over from My lovely Nokia N82 to Samsung Galaxy Y Duos.
I took back up the contacts in .csv format and restored contacts in Samsung phone but when I went to use the search option in android contacts, it was not displaying the searched contact although which exists in the list, but when I scrolled down to the respective alphabet it is visible.
Secondly I used to save the names in below format--
XX YYYYYY ZZZZ where XX is company name, YYYYY is person name and ZZZZ stands for his dept.
when I restored the backed up contacts from .csv file I noticed that XX is in first name, YYYY is in middle name and ZZZZ in last name.
And also when I went to save a new contact, I gave the same format in the First Name but when finally contact is saved & when I re-opened in edit mode I noticed that it again saved to its default format viz. XX is in first name, YYYY is in middle name and ZZZZ in last name.
And in some cases it went to prefix fields.
I assume that every android user facing this problem, when I googled regarding this subject but there is no solution available in net.
I dont want use any extra special character between my format as I got used to the format since long.
Anybody any help???
