Phone to buy?

I've been thinking of selling off my Xperia X1 and thinking of getting me a HTC Diamond 2. Bigger screen than the Xperia, plus I found myself not liking to use the keyboard. So hmmm.. Any other recommendations you fellas would recommend? I'd like a phone that has a big screen, of course, good hardware to last me at least 1-2 years. Doesn't need a keyboard...

Depend on your OS preferred and how $ you want to spend, there are good options around and more to come!

HTC X7501 would be a nice couple with you all

thanks guys for the quick response. I am thinkin between HD and D2 right now. Checked out both HTC X7501 and Thoth. More interested in Thoth, though I've read that it's actually HTC Leo? Could anyone clarify more?

Hello friends I am new to HTC, I have a "APPLE I PHONE" & just saw my friends HTC Touch Diamond 2, then I realized that my I Phone SUCKED BIG TIME & from then I have become HTC CRAZY!
Well I am interested in BUYING a new HTC handset & the same friend told me about this site.
So please suggest me the best HTC handset available for now or any other releasing soon!

wait for HTC Leo it will come with 1GH cpu , 4.3 screen but that not offical yet
in this time the best htc device
running Window mobile is the htc touch pro 2
running Android is the HTC Hero

Alternative can be Sony's Expressia. It has solid spec's.
Expressia getting popular in Europe a lot in Windows mobile range.

htc one x would be my best bet. 8 mp camera hd (1080) recording 4.8 inch screen (i think) and it is quad core. the only problem is is its quite pricey

I too feel your pain. I have iPhone 4 and I'm bored with it there is no customization at all without a jailbreak and what little there is suck in my opinion .
I say go with the HTC ONE X. What a beautiful phone I miss htc so much wished i had the money to buy one look it up you'll like it

when you say HUGE, are we talking borderline tablet? Like Galexy Tab 7?

I recently buyed a HD2 and im "satisfied" but im a mobi freak...so,the HD2 is quietly brilliant but doesent have future since WM 7 will not support it and adroid too...So i wanna a powerfoul phone...im would like to buy a HTC Evo but is inpossible here in Croatia,so i need a good replace for the HD2 but that run's Android...what can u people recommend me? I was thinking about the iPhone 4 too but im a lil bit sceptic ....
The Droid X is the one about i thinked too...
Pls help me to choose something....i must choose soon till i can sell the HD 2 for a good price...

I think HD2 is better.

Go for Leo, is one of the best devices out there, if you are worried about WP7 then wait till end of the year...

What do u say about the Google Nexus One,he get the Froyo update....is that a good replacement for the HD 2??

Dont get the Nexus one right now. You're paying way too much for a phone that is "commercially outdated" in many respects. What you do get though, is the massive userbase that is available here in XDA. If you think that alone is worth the retail tag, then by all means, go for it.
Also, I've heard the Pentile AMOLED screen is crap on it. Hence why I suggested the original Galaxy S which has a SUPER AMOLED screen.

The thing is that i change my cell phones evry 6 months,im a freak about phones,i have the Lg Arena,iPhone 3g,3gs,then a Hero and now Leo,all in 2 years...the nexus have alredy the froyo update but the galaxy S will get the update late in this year,am i right? But the thing is that the Droid X will be released this month too...that is a quietly brilliant phone and will serve froyo...and one more question..if i buy an HTC Evo on ebay...does it work on 3g here in my country...(Croatia)???

I don't see why it matters. If you change your phone every 6 months, it should be irrelevant what you get now. People already told you their suggestions, what else do you want? I'm sure you're not looking for an e-mother to make the decision for you, right?
Just pick a phone, use it for 6 months, and be gone with it.
P.S. There is no such thing as the "best smartphone". So stop trying to choose one based on that non-existent criteria. Pick whichever you like.

Honestly I see Android as a fun/young/immature/promising OS, played with it and got bored quickly...
But is not for me (at least for now) I am quite happy with WM with all it´s pros and cons, I think as a very stable/business/experienced OS

Go try the Nexus...you won't be bored and the screen is awesome!

Personally I would keep the leo at least till Christmas. Theres gonna be a lot of killer phones coming out for the holidays that will be amazing. Right now your basically just moving around laterally looking at numerous versions of the same phone. The HD2 chef's just cracked the linux/android kernal so things are starting to happen with the HD2. I'd say with in a month or two we will see a decent version of android on it. So in my humble opinion stick with the HD2 till something truely better comes out. Right now they are all basically the same phone with a different sticker.

I'm currently using my HTC Touch HD/Blackstone for calling ,listening to music , read the news and much more things. I tried several roms for it ,but I still think it's a slow device and can't be used as a multimedia device without getting irritated of the speed of the device.
So I thought about buying the new Ipod or a HTC Desire (maybe the HTC Desire HD). If I would buy the new Ipod ,I would only use my HTC Touch HD only for making calls and sending text messages. And use the Ipod (32GB version) to listen to music,watch movies,download apps and filming in HD.
And If I would buy the HTC Desire (HD) I would use it as a replacement for my HTC Touch HD and use as a phone and all the things I would you the Ipod for.
So now the main question is: Which one should I pick?

It's easy. If you want high quality games, go for the iPod. Otherwise, if you don't want to play at all, go for the Desire.

Apple has a lot of great apps, so if you're going to buy games apps and the sort, go for the iPod Touch, if you're going for them all in one (sort of a jack of all trades, so the apps games wont be as good as the iPod Touch's), get the HTC Desire.

I had the same situation, finaly I've bought the Desire S and I'm happy with it. It is a litte big smaler then the Incredible but exept the camera as far as I know everything is the same.
The Desire S for me personaly looks much more noble then the Incrdible S and is fitting in every pocket.
I've had the HD2 before with WIN6.5 and Andoird (Desire HD Rom) for mails/Inet etc. and an additional smaler phone to make calls. Now after everything will be set up I'll be only the Desire S.

It comes down to two things, how big a phone do you want to carry around in your pocket? and which one feels best in your hands....
I'd suggest you go to a shop and try out both dummies....whichever feels best should leave in your pocket (and I don't mean nick the dummy!).
I personally like a smaller size, The D HD is way too big IMHO (I've come from HTC Diamond2 which was also 3.7" screen)
The phones are very similar spec wise, I rarely use a camera...so mega pixels don't matter to me!
They both have the same signed problems when it comes to custom ROMS and root.
