Does anyone know what I would need to do to get a verizon branded 6700 running on sprint. I have found instructions for running another networks 6700 on verizon but that is not the best help ever.
I have access to one and I am thinking if I can get it to work on Sprint's network, install 6.1, and maybe even upgrade the memory (am I getting greedy here) that I would give up my mogul to run it.
I am not getting any replies at ppcgeeks.
I need some help... I have a Us Cellular Htc Touch Pro2 CDMA i unlocked it and put a 2.23.00 WU radio on there which i believe is Verzion, then i tried to put 4.49.00 radio from At&t on my phone thinking my phone could handle it since i was trying to take the phone to At&t anyway and it went through and everything but then the phone blacked out and all ot does is the little light comes on when its plugged up to my computer. the phone wont come on or nothing, so what can i do???

You bricked it. I would search the forums carefully and maybe some of the chefs or better experts than myself can give you some suggestions.
I don't want to "rub salt in the wound" but there were numerous warnings posted across the forums about not installing a GSM ROM onto a CDMA phone (and vice-versa):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=616537&highlight=brick+phone+gsm+cdma
I wish you the best of luck un-bricking your phone. Worst case scenario, take it back to USCC and say "it's broke".
Dude,
CDMA and GSM devices have COMPLETELY different hardware. The radios are not compatible at all. A hard lesson learned. Hopefully you can get it replaced and start over. I highly recommend rereading the stickies here and/or on PPCGeeks that talk about hardSPL unlocking, unlocking, relocking, flashing, radio flashing, etc before you do anything to your next device.
I know you can flash a Sprint touch Pro to the Verison Network but I wanted to go the other way. If I have a Verizon TP2 can I flash or use it on the Sprint network? Thanks in advance.
technically yes, but good luck getting sprint to activate it, as a matter of policy they wont activate any phone that doesnt have their logo on it (verizon actually has the same policy)
legally, it'll never happen.
So technically if one was to try it and then sweet-talk Sprint into it, how would one go about it? Do you have to flash the Sprint version of the Radio? I already tried wiping and then just selecting "Sprint" using Mighty Mike's MightyROM carrier selection tool
your going to have to create a ticket with sprint to add the esn to sprint but it will take 7-15 business days
I have T-Mobile prepaid and live in Illinois. I bought a used cdma Rhodium on eBay. It had generic HTC branding on front had a stock US Cellular rom with Winmobile 6.5 installed and has the 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom. So I guess this is what's called a "worldphone". The phone came sim unlocked. And I put hard-spl on it. I put my sim in and set the phone to gsm and it didn't find my T-Mobile network. So just for the fun of it I flashed a stock Sprint rom from HTCs website on the phone that has Winmobile 6.1 and a 1.96.00WF radio. I set the phone to gsm and my T-Mobile network registered! I can make and receive calls. Am I misunderstanding something or from what I've read on this site is this not supposed to be happening- that only a WU radio should work with gsm in the US, not a WF radio? I don't know what this means but on the phone screen to the far right of the word T-Mobile there is a circle with crosshairs inside, and sometimes has a slash thru it. But the phone works fine.

verizon phones work fine with WF radio. sprint (and I think uscellular) branded phones need the WU radio. if yours has generic HTC on it then it's not a sprint branded phone for sure, because that has "sprint" written on it.
Well that's good to know, thank you. I thought you always had to have a wu radio to use gsm in the US on RhodiumW but I guess not. Incidentally, I tried a uscc wf radio and a later sprint wf radio but neither of them worked. Only the Sprint 1.96.00wf worked for some reason. Thanks again for your reply.

when you say generic you mean it should not have a sprint tag or logo on it any where right?

well, that's interesting, if it does say sprint on it, it probably is sprint branded unless someone replaced the mainboard in the phone (or changed the casing on it...same end result).
by the way, the specific radio version you are referring to, is one we've patched to make a "WU" radio out of it. you also mention, that other radios don't work, just this one. this suggests one of two possibilities to me: either you actually have the "WU" radio (check radio version in settings to verify) or you have some rare t-mobile sim card that has an mccmnc that isn't checked by that specific radio and is checked by the other versions.

Yes, the radio I flashed was the WF radio because at first I flashed the stock win6.1 rom from HTC's website and it worked. And then I flashed the stock 6.5 rom and flashed the radio win6.1 uses over it and in sys info is says WF right now. So you're probably right about that particular radio not checking certain sims. I use a prepaid sim that I've had for several years.

The T-Mobile SIM card shouldn't make a difference. It's the radio frequencies that are blocked out by the default Sprint radio, IIRC. Pick your poison, no foreign SIM card that I've tried while in North America will pick up a GSM signal on a Sprint TP2 unless it's been flashed with a WU radio.
The Sprint devices are factory unlocked so they shouldn't even be checking the SIM.
Hey all, sorry for the noob question, I have always unlocked Motorola phones in the past, because at my work, ATT doesnt get signal (My provider), but when I unlocked my Motorola phones, then I would get great signal from T-Mobile, and Cell One.
Well now I got this HTC Inspire, rooted it with the Ace Hack Kit (S-off, and all that), got CM7 on it.
BUT at work, I scan for signal, and all it shows is AT&T (Which doesn't get barely any signal at work). So why doesn't it find T-Mobile or another provider which has signal there?
Also I noticed my dad's iPhone does the same thing, even though his is factory unlocked, it won't use any towers besides AT&T. That really sucks IMO, because I always unlocked them, to get my full potential siginal..
Anyways if anyone could answer this, I'd greatly appreciate it. I could stick in another sim to make sure it's unlocked, but I'd have to buy one on ebay, and then I read all over that the Ace kit unlocks it, so I'm like wtf..

Enter the correct apns for t mobile or flash a ROM that has T-Mobile carrier options.
As for the iPhone I couldn't tell ya
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
If you used Ace Hack Kit, then your phone is probably unlocked. Whose is your carrier?
For the iPhone, when you say factory unlocked, do you mean AT&T unlocked it. I don't know that any iPhones come unlocked from the factory. When AT&T unlocks a phone (or gives you an unlock code) I think it will only use a non-AT&T signal if AT&T isn't available, i.e. in another country.

Thanks all, and yes his iPhone is factory direct unlocked.. Bought straight from Apple.
Anyways, thanks. I will manually enter the T-Mobile APN and see what that does..
