Can anyone help me with PocketNester? Or any NES emulator?

I've got an XV6800 and am dying to play my NES ROMS. I got Pocket Nester loaded up but when you open a ROM, it just does like a matrix type screen and then closes down. Can someone help me to get it up a running, or another program that runs NES roms? I am not that knowledgeable about much other than opening a CAB file...I'm a designer so I use MAC! Thanks for any help.

I've read through that, but which nester files do I use? I don't understand any of that:
pn07_arm_ppc.zip
pn07_mips_ppc.zip
pn07_ppc2002.zip
pn07_sh3_ppc.zip
PocketNester-0.7a-src.zip

You mean you did unZIP pn07_arm_ppc.zip ?
Yeah, and it gives me the pnsetup_arm.exe which when I try to execute, it tells me it isn't a valid PC app.
The message makes me think you're running the executable on your XV6800. Instead run it on your computer and it'll queue it up to install on your next Sync.
Once it's installed you probably will want to experiment with the GAPI setting. I like to use the keyboard since my thumbs are a bit too big to for the external keys; unchecking GAPI made it so the picture was pointing the correct direction.
hey. i got a brilliant program that runs all th old systems. send me your email and i will send it to you. its called morphgear and it plays: Sega mega drive (genesis), turbografx, nes, sega master system, game gear, snes, gameboy and gameboy advance. i use it on my hermes and its really good. i have completed mario 3 and also mario world on it in the past week

try changing landscape to landscape left. Worked for me on my wing
Thanks, that worked...for one of the games, but the rest of them are all out of whack..not to mention the controls SUCK even after setting them to the buttons I wanted they still dont work. Landscape works on 1 of 5 games. None of the options menus allow me to scroll down.
I d/led the recommended emulator that was suppose to work on QVGA, oh well..it would have been cool

[Q] Android - what are 'killer' apps?

I've been a winmo user for more years than I care to recount, but it's upgarde time, I don't want to wait for WP7 only to find it's not all it should be, so I'm going Android.
Desire or Galaxy S, not sure yet, will see what deal I can get at the end of the month when I have to decide.
Anyway, my question is, as an Android noob, what are the 'must have' apps on Android.
what is THE media player to have
what are the games that are essential?
what utlities will I need to get the best out of the phone?
Looking forward to your answers - no doubt as varied as responders.

xda doesn't let me post links cuz i'm new so this is the best I can do.
Thanks bartek.
At least someone is being helpful...
Personally I use RockPlayer to play movie files, MortPlayer to play music(default music player is great anyways though)
For games, theres MagicGemII (bejewelled style), Replica Island (platformer), Abduction (doodle jump style), Armored Strike (scorched earth style) and many more, including some great ones from GameLoft
In the way of utilities, depends on what you want to do with your phone. Android has a lot of advantages over windows mobile (came from htc diamond 2). A good place to start is a file browser, like OI File Manager, and a backup program, like Titanium Backup. If you're into loading new Roms, then Rom Manager is a useful and easy way to do this.
Personally I also use SlideIT keyboard for easier text entry, AppBrain coupled with Fast Web Installer means you can browse the market easier on appbrain.com and install apps just by clicking Install on the website, of course the XDA app

Hey all a friend of mine told me of this great website...www.icefilms.info...It lets you stream movies right to your windows or mac comp. and even smart phones. Problem is I can't find a way to get it to work for the g tab. It uses a couple of programs and they are as follows:
-DivX web player, which compresses the video
-Grease monkey (monkey script), which reads the file to play the video
-ICE Quick stream, which allows you to stream video from megaupload and
2shared
I see that other ice film members got Grease monkey to work with IE, Firefox, Safari, and Google chrome. I found another user who got it to work with Ubuntu (although you had to jump through several hoops to make it work, seemed kinda difficult)
So my question is, how do I get this to work on my g tab? (I'm pretty new at this but I tried to download all the browsers since flashing my unit with tnt lite 2.2 and I keep getting an error message). So do I have to flash a new OS like windows, OSX, Ubuntu, or Linux? or is there a way to keep my android platform? (which I really like cause of the app store and I don't want to lose t
It seems like a real difficult question (to me anyway) but for anyone who can help I thank you a million times in advace
Why don't you go the smartphone route? The Android browser is not equal to Google Chrome or other browsers as it is more limited in functionality.
If the requirements are all 3 apps listed above, then you most likely need a different OS (or choose the smartphone option).
Have you tried the thread about playing on Android phones?
http://forum.icefilms.info/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=13540
No I haven't but will check that right now thanks, as for the smart phone way....just didn't want to do that cause if i'm watching a movie and someone calls it interferes with the movie also wanted to take advantage of the dock with the HDMI out on it to hook to my tv. I'll let you know if that thread works....thanks again
It worked thanks. I remember reading this post a couple weeks ago, but when it was talking about doing it on the phone I didn't think it would work on the g tablet. Like I said I'm pretty new at all this stuff but learning real fast with some great help. I am going to post a thread how to do it cause there are 2 different ways, you can use the yx player or you can watch it right on megaupload.

Kobo Vox Touch Screen Boost

Um I received from a Kobo Vox from someone but I didn't really get a charger with it so I ordered a new one. So now I can't try out any apps on my tablet. So I have a quick question. I heard that the Kobo Vox's touch screen isn't too impressive. Well I heard that it's not good at all. I used one before and the screen was decent. A bit on the lacking side but I found an app that apparently boosts the touch screen sensitivity. Its supposed to be for the SGS but on other forums it apparently worked on other devices.
Um if you search up SGS touch screen booster on google you should find it on the play store
Um can people who have Kobo Voxs test this out and tell me if this works for the Vox. Also could you tell me the settings that you used.
It would be greatly appreciated
It would really brighten up my day if it works because this is my first android device (My own device) and I want to make it as good as possible. I already found ways to speed up my device so it's just the touch screen that stands in my way. I'm sorry for asking another question but is it possible to delete some of the pre installed, but useless apps. Like there is the scrabble game which I won't play and the other app store that probably takes up a lot of memory. A list of the deletable apps would be a great help.
I'm sorry for asking one more question but I promise this is my last. If I delete unnecessary apps and have practically no widgets could I be able to run jet pack joyride and subway surfer smoothly. My friend had a Kobo Vox with a lot of unnecessary apps and widget yet he play jet pack joy ride with a bit of lag every 10 seconds but subway surfer was really slow. So If I keep my device as fast as possible will it be able to play these games smoothly?
The first and third questions are the most important to me so please try to answer them.
This is my first post so be nice
After you open the app the lower you make each bar the more responsive its supposed to be. There is a restore to default button to help you if you ruined your devices touch screen setting.

[Q] Is there a program that will emulate iOS?

Im supposed to help some friends of mine put together a course on using certain apps on android devices, and similar apps on iOS (ipad, iphone, etc.) I don't have an iPad or iPhone and don't have any means of testing the apps theyre using. I'm perfectly fine with purchasing the apps, but first I need a program to run them on windows. The only program I found thus far is a program called iPadian. but it didn't work at all and installed a LOT of malware. took me 4 hours to clean up. but anyway, Im still on the hunt.
iOS emulator for windows to run iOS apps like on an iPad.
