When do you think we will see the next Nexus Phone?

Hi everyone!
Currently I own a Galaxy S and am quite happy with it. The only thing I dont really like is Samsung's update speed. So I guess I'd like to get a Google phone next to get updates the fastest as possible, and as the new Nexus S is nearly the same as my galaxy it wont be an upgrade.
So when do you think Google will introduce the next Nexus phone? I guess 2.4 wont see one? Do you think in about halb a year? (As Nexus One and S are about half a year apart) Or do you think Google will stop the Nexus series as Android has a good market penetration already?
Kind regards,
Sascha
Maybe in 2012 (before the earth is destroyed. Many Chinese people are crazy about the year of 2012)

They're almost a year apart: January 5 and December 16. And next Android will be 3.0 most probably, not 2.4.
But I'm also curious about next Google phone. I want to buy a Nexus S, but there will be dual-core phones in 2011.
Ok maybe I confused german release date Nexus One with international release date of Nexus S. Then its a year
But I dont really know if Android 3.0 will be released for Smartphones too, the news sites report contrary statements in this matter. Anyway, there will be a new smartphone release and maybe a new Nexus The question is, when?

[Q] AT&T Upgrade Help.

I am a long time AT&T customer and I have 2 lines that need upgrading. I am kind of upset because I get upgrades every 12 months on one line and 18 on the other and one was my iPhone plan because they had a regular 12 month cycle so I was guaranteed a new top of the line phone and I used the other for an Android device and sometime expect to wait a little to get the best Android phone.
So my iPhone plan was up in July and my Android plan just now ended and I sold my iPhone months ago anticipating a 12 month release cycle and I just sold my old Android because someone made me a great offer so now I'm sitting on an Android Backflip counting down the days for a release date for ANY device.
Is there an anticipated phone release timeline by carrier anywhere? I was thinking I'd just get two Nexus Primes because calling iOS 5 an upgrade is ridiculous and I'm getting bored with iOS but then I stumbled upon the Samsung Galaxy S III which I have no clue on as far as a release date but I really need help here. It's looking like:
iPhone 5 - October 7th?
Nexus Prime - Thanksgivingish?
Galaxy S III - Decemberish?
Then the question is which of the Android devices is going to ATT and when? Maybe there are other Ice Cream Sandwich devices slated to release soon? My thing is that I really want to get my upgrade refresh started back up so maybe just buy 2 iPhones and sell them to buy other devices? What would you guys do if in my situation?

Samsung Canada says upgrade to Android OS 4.0 “will be available today on select devi

Looks like ICS official coming today, possibly Skyrocket. YAY
According to MobileSyrup.
"Good news for some Canadian Samsung Galaxy owners today. I just received an email that Samsung and respective carriers will start to push out the long awaited upgrade to Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich today"
Here’s the complete list of devices that will be graced with Android OS 4.0:
- GALAXY S II
- GALAXY S II LTE
- GALAXY S II LTE HD
- GALAXY S II X
- GALAXY Note
- GALAXY Tab 7.0
- GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus
- GALAXY Tab 8.9
- GALAXY Tab 10.1
More details on their site.
No offense but your post is a LITTLE misleading. For full article go to http://mobilesyrup.com/2012/04/30/s...de-will-be-available-today-on-select-devices/
All they're really saying is that today is the START of the ICS rollout, which is supposed to last throughout the quarter. This means that the Skyrocket may not get the update until late June. Still, it is a good start. Maybe it'll lead to development of some more stable ICS roms.
The subject cut off a little yes.
Not meaning to be misleading, but this is a good sign no? Might indeed be the Skyrocket if Rogers is the first carrier ready with the bloatware.
Looks like at least 1 device is getting ICS today, so good news!
I got relegated. ;-)

Canada - ICS "should be" available today

http://mobilesyrup.com/2012/04/30/s...de-will-be-available-today-on-select-devices/
Good news for some Canadian Samsung Galaxy owners today. I just received an email that Samsung and respective carriers will start to push out the long awaited upgrade to Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich today. Samsung stated that “the upgrade will be available today on select devices in Canada and will continue rolling out to devices and carriers throughout the quarter.” There’s no word on which carriers or devices will be getting ICS today, just a confirmed list of devices, including various smartphone and tablets. We’ve reached out to Samsung for a bit more clarity, but they do note that “The availability and scheduling of the software upgrade and specific models upgradable to Android 4.0 will vary by market and wireless carriers’ requirements. For carrier specific details, please visit your nearest carrier retailer.”
Here’s the complete list of devices that will be graced with Android OS 4.0:
- GALAXY S II
- GALAXY S II LTE
- GALAXY S II LTE HD
- GALAXY S II X

That is a very odd statement for alleged updated that are landing "today" with no details on which devices are being updated "today".
We would have at least expect them to say which devices are starting the roll out today and which are "coming soon".
Is the P6200 being sold in Canada or is it the Wifi P6210?
I think its just the 6210.
the best good news!
well, at least we are getting some "roll".. though the "soon" is still there, it's stil a much better news than before.
What doesn't sit well with me though is that it has Galaxy Tab 7.0 in the list. I thought the regular 7.0 wasn't getting the update or am I terribly mistaken?
Update: We’ve heard back from Samsung and it looks like the rollout will start later this week: “The ICS update will be available this week and will continue rolling out to devices and carriers throughout the quarter.”

I agree. It was always pretty clear that the original Tab's hardware would keep it out of the running for an official upgrade to ICS (or so said Samsung). Something seems not quite right here.
By the way, at my local Best Buy, as of last weekend, all the Samsung tablets are on clearance.
But the update is rolling out:

Ah that is a bit more definitive that something is happening. Guess that is good news in general though.
No updates available as yet.
My build is Canadian: P6210XXLb2
If I can't update, which stock ROM do you guys suggest I install before trying update? Screenshot of "about device" attached. Thx.

That's probably the 7.7. The GTab 7.0 was never on any of the lists for upgrade I've seen.
Not to ruin the party, but they will probably start with updating the Galaxy S II (like they did in Europe) and then slowly, through the end of quarter add additional devices.
If you read the press release closely that's what it probably means.
Don't expect to see an update before the European unlocked (of Hong Kong) version get it.

-galaxy TAB 7 (P1000 2010 VERSION) = ICS will not released (maybe a ginger value pack)
-galaxy TAB 7.7 (P6800) = ICS will be released (probably te last on the list...)
Where are the custom ROMS?????
I like ANDROID stock ROMS like Gingerbread, Honeycomb and ICS , but how about the custom roms for this device?? I do not know what happen to the developers of the devices to build a nice one. I have installed at least 20 different custom ROMS for my SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE smarthphone, but I only found a custom Rom for the galaxy tab plus that is called OMGBQROM. Where is the cyanongemod 7 or MIUI Roms????? That is a pity because this device is excellent for a person who wants to carry it into a pocket or small bag.
Oh god, so excited! When will this come in europe then? Anybody know that?

Future; Which will be coolest phone for 2013 ?

What do you all expect, or predict for the best smartphones of 2013 ? Not just sales wise, but your most anticipated release, or coolest features ?
I just bought my Note 2 last month, running on Straight Talk ATT, and I love this phone, amazing battery life, huge screen, very fast. To me the Note 2 is hands down the best phone of 2012 in my opinion.
- Samsung Galaxy S IV will be a big release, very curious the design Samsung goes with this phone ? Still removable battery, and external sd/card, or will they follow everyone, and move to a fix case ? And what will Tocuhwiz 6.0 be like compared to the current TW 5.0 ? It will be based off Jellybean 4.2, as Key Lime Pie is due to be announced until Google I/O in May, and released ?
- iPhone 5S/6 ? Will Apple do a major revamp with iOS7 like the rumors say ? Will they offer two sizes for once, a 4", and a larger 4.8" ? They have two different sizes for the iPad, so I could see Apple eventually offering two different szies of iPhones ?
- Nexus-Five for me is a very anticipated release. Hopefully not another LG made phone, would like to see HTC get back into it, or even Sony. And even bigger is to see what Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie will be doing ?
- Galaxy Note 3 for me, is most likely my next phone. But curious what OS version it will be running ? I know the Galaxy S IV will be Jellybean 4.2 based with all new TW 6.0 But the Note series is typically a Fall release, and Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie will be out by then, so will the Note 3 be a Android 5.0 based OS ?
- Goorola X phone = The Google & Motorola companies finally teamed up together, creating some SuperPhone. Rumors say it will be a 5" screen, with the MAXX battery, in a thin case, running Android 5.0, released on call carriers at the same time, but also be sold on the Play Store. It will not be named a "Nexus" device, but supposedly very close to a Nexus type of phone, with a little bit of carrier bloatware included. Rumors point to it being released June/July.
- Windows Phone ? Is there a Windows Phone 9 due out this Fall ?

design probably xperia z
pure features, definitely the gs4 and note 3
performance and smoothness probably the x phone
Like Zorachus, I'm really excited about the Note 3.
Fingers crossed it's running Key Lime Pie and continues with the good battery life of the 2.
I'll be keeping great interest in Samsung's phone lineup, but part of me would really like Nokia to release an android handset. It'd be good to see them back in their prime!!
I think it's Galaxy S4
I read full article about Samsung Galaxy S4. I think Samsung Galaxy S4 will be coolest phone for 2013.
