Won't Power on from time to time ...

Hi!
I upgraded from Windows Mobile 5.0 to Windows Mobile 6.0 Faria's Kitchen Rom. But after my upgrade, the device sometimes won't turn on and I have to perform a hard reset to turn it on. Is anyone else having this problem? Does this bug exist in Windows Mobile 6? I have searched the forum for a solution for my problem but did not find anything.

I've never had that problem. Have you tried downloading the ROM again and performing another flash? It could be a corrupted ROM. You could also try a different WM6 ROM if you still have power issues after re-downloading and re-flashing.

Can this problem be software I have installed related. So far the programs I have installed are SPB Shell, SPB Pocket Plus, SPB Diary, SPB Weather, SPB GPRS, SPB Backup, XCPUScalar, psShutXP.

Any of the cpuscalars can do this if you set the min value too low. I keep my min at 143MHz or 147MHz with BatteryStatus' cpuscalar. For me going much lower causes issues after my phone goes to sleep (including not waking up).

Actually I am running it at 234 MHz. The stock is 195 MHz. I guess the software is not compatible with Windows Mobile 6. What are some working overclocking programs for Windows Mobile 6?

Anything that "Starts on it's own", must be installed to the Device, not SDcard!
Are all of yours installed to the card?

Yes that might be the problem then. I have installed some of the things that start on their on to the SD Card to save space. I reinstall these programs. Thanks for the tip!

SPB Mobile Shell 3 and Real VGA, anyone tried it yet?

Has anyone tried if they can co-exist?
We know version 2 can't.

Just tried it. Unfortunately, It does not work with REAL VGA at 96 dpi. It runs fine, but as a small screen on the upper left corner just like version 2.

So far I like it. I might keep it, just so I have an option when I am using my device on 192 dpi. It looks and works great. The downside is it takes 8MB of storage.

SPB Mobile Shell can be ran from the SD Card !!!! Saves humongous space.
Use SKTools' Move Folder Function to move the entire SPB Mobile Shell folder to your SD Card, but be sure to kill all processes first, otherwise, it won't allow you to move anything.

I was using Real VGA at 96 dpi and installed SPB Mobile Shell 3. But they are not working together. Need to move to 192 dpi setting for normal usage. Anyone knows how to use Mobile Shell at 128 or 96dpi. 128 would be enough!

Removing TF3D for Mobile Shell

New here, I wanted to know how to get rid of TF3D, so I can install Mobile Shell and still have some memory. Could I do a hard reset to remove bloatware and then not tap the manilla.exe file?(or whatever file is TF3D)

1 Flash HardSPL
2 Flash a clean winmo 6.1 or 6.5 rom. ( I used NRG 2.0 ROM )
3 Download or purchase SPB MS 3.0
4 Install Spb MS 3.0
5 Finished!

Why not just uncheck it under today items? How much ram can it use if it's not running? Also easier to get back if you want to use it. I like to run both ms and tf3d at times. just my .02

touche! no point in hard resetting...

I have same question, I'm more worried about Storage space, 3.0 is large, that eats into memory, meaning performance.
I realize I can uncheck it, but can it be removed without hard reset? If not, any implications???

go to All Setting -> System Tab -> Clear Storage. This will clear everythign off and set it back to the beginning. Remember this basically restoring factory settings. If you do that you will loss all appointments and contacts so back them up with spb backup or sprite backup... or just resync the device with your computer when you are done.
I don't really flash this device yet (I did flash my older 8125). I like to stick with the stock as much as possible... although I am close to doing a flash to get some added functionality.

I suspect he's asking to remove tf3d completely and reclaim the storage space used. Not just run it. If that's the case, the 4th post about installing a new rom is correct.
If you just don't want it to run anymore and are NOT concerned about the ROM space taken, then just uncheck it in the today menu and install SPB shell. Thats what I did.
I didn't flash a rom that doesn't have it in case I want to switch back or get bored with Mobile shell.

So does tf3d take up more mem than m. shell? MS is like 8mb. Side note: I'm not so sure the ms was ready for prime time yet as it is occasionally doing some weirdness to my Tpro. My saved layouts will suddenly dissappear,widgets I had set go away and I need to re-install. So I'm glad I have the tf3d just sitting there ready to go. Also, it does not integrate well at all with the spb pocket plus. I had to off load pp as it seemed to not be fully functional. With the old ms v2 I could run tf3d and shell both not so with the v3. I got it for the 50% off upgrade so not a big deal. I am kinda dissappointed tho.

please help me.....i wasted like whole day trying to friking figure out how to put the damn bb storm theme with spb shell on omnia....can anybody help me with that thanx alot

im not sure though im afraid theres no help i can give as i have never used spb shell

Problem with SPB Shell

I have a big problem with spb shell..i have new version 3.5..It works fain, no problem with it..But then i format my phone, cause there was some things, what i dont want.. whatever it doesnt matter... now while im using spb shell, i have problem, when i get into spb shell and click for menu (example), that old start blink and put me back on spb homescreen... I dont know, how to solve this, in menu of spb shell i put that "put start off" to yes, but it doenst help.. I dont know, before it was all ok, now is doing this and i cant use my phone with spb shell..
Sorry for my bad english, im in hurry... Anyway, i have xperia x2.
