How to build your own ROM - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

Hello,
I have a question. How can I build my own ROM with my own programs automatically installed after installing the ROM or having a hard reset?

You may want to start with reading the wiki and the stickies to find the reference, e.g. this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=447170

sry, but I don't know how to use such a kicthen and i havn't found helpful articles in the wiki. Is there a guide like "How to build my own customized ROM" anywhere and if yes, could you post the link please?

I think you are thinking about UC (user customization).
Basicaly, the rom is already cooked, but you have your own setup on your SD card with a list of cabs to install...
Is that what you are looking for?
PM (private message) me if you need more answers. The forum is already clogged up. since you are new, I'll help you find your way around, or at least you won't be posting any new threads before learning what to search for.

Is there a guide/readme that explains the ROM flashing process and risks?

Hi,
I'm thinking of buying an AT&T Tilt, and am considering replacing the AT&T ROM with an alternative, published here.
Could someone please point me to some reading material that would explain the process?
1. How to do it.
2. How to backup the original ROM.
3. Troubleshooting.
4. Dictionary - to understand all of these new terms!
5. How to evaluate the various alternatives (ie - how to choose between the various available ROMs).
Thanks.

Man, you really need to search/browse. Checkout the sticky topics at the top and also read the wiki. You will find everything you need.
OK, doing that right now.
I posted above because I was looking for some structured how-to.
But you're right, of course. I'll spend a while reading the many interesting threads here.
you ask for structure? there are over 1000 posts on the Kaiser and a whole Wiki full of info So suggest please start reading before you brick you new baby and then come crying how do i fix it. There is a reason for stickys and In my sticky there is a HOW TO FLASH SAFLY

Dumping full ROM

Anyone tried to dump full ROM with all tweaks and apps? I'm cooking new ROM, from my dumped original ROM and done almost everything, but for some problems could not include few registry tweaks I did in Kaiser. It would be nice to dump ROM with all that settings and apps, instead of creating new OEM packets. Is it possible? I didn't find any info about that. Anyone?
Have you read the reconstructing ROMs thread? Your question belongs there and your answer may already be there.
In the future, please read the sticky and wiki before posting and reply to existing threads to help keep this forum clean. Thanks!

Thx for your reply m8, but I thought I read almost anything on this forum but didn't find what I was looking for. Don't get me wrong, but I didn't come here yesterday. I never ask questions about anything what I didn't search by myself everywhere, not only at xda-developers, what u can see from my threads.
I cooked many ROMs for Kaiser, and few years before I was at MIO forum and done many customization for A701 ROMs and all that is nothing new to me. I dumped my Kaiser ROM but didn't find solution for dumping full ROM with apps and tweaks.
Call be blind but I couldn't find solution. Sorry for long post but I had to explain the situation.

Just mentioning that it would be more helpful for everyone else if you were to reply to an existing thread that's already in the wiki and sticky, especially if you have an on topic problem that doesn't have a solution. If/when you find an answer, it will be next to impossible for the next person to find this thread, amongst all the redundant threads of this nature.
So if you want to help others as Austinsnyc has helped you, you can add this thread to the wiki

Second Cook need i little halp please !!

ok i cooked my first rom to night, i cooked two roms but my start menus , on programs and settings expands and does not open in the the menus we all love.
i have looked and search for the answer myself but i am down to my last can lager, so i am asking very nice for help how to fix this
i hope one of cooking masters will read your thread then he can help you
Theres no way anyone can help unless you specify:
a) what rom you're cooking with
b) what editing you have done to the rom
Also you should have noticed the "Have a question? Read this before posting! All answers here (see post 3 for FTP lnk)
" Sticky right at the top. Inside that thread is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=337066 Maybe if you posted this question there, you might get better results! Good Luck!
i have cooked from alex`s 3.03 WM6.1 ROM.
i have not done any mods yet to the rom as i am still leaning how, one thing at a time thou..
i have just noticed alex uses this menu system in he cooked roms, so i am thinking i need a new rom build base to cook from.
any one know where i can get ?

In desperate need!!!!

i am a new member. whats the best ROM to go with? how do i get it?
there is no such thing as a universally accepted "best rom" read pureskill's rom reviews in this forum. links and instructions are there.
lol i remember asking the same type of questions when i first got here and to tell you the truth it doesnt really work that way, this forum is mostly for cooks or developers you have to look around and find the rom thats best for you, try ivans new stuff hes still in the alpha stage but the juststable 15v2 works awesome and u have to install the latest arcsoft which you can find by using the forum search engine there is also microlabs wm6, that seems to be very popular make sure you hard spl your phone before flashing any of the roms here you can find instructions for that by using the search engine also, hope this helps
I think this is the wrong forum to post that.
I would go with either JustHome or JustStable if you want something newer. But you can also with the fantastic catalog of older roms available. Use the forum search or go read pureskill's ROM reviews like kristopherson said and decide for yourself.

XDA UC - Tutorial

Hi, I have searched for a tutorial on XDA UC, I believe it is an application that reinstalls selected apps after ROM change.
But I can't figure out how to use it and can't find a tutorial.
Can Anyone help me out?
Thanks
I believe it has to be cooked into the custom ROM you're flashing in order to be able to use it. If it is cooked in, I think you just make a folder "Autoinstall" and put any/all cabs that you want to be installed upon initial boot.
I'm pretty positive a google search for "XDA UC" will have everything explained via a developers thread.
Did the search for you. Here's the thread which has everything in it:
