PROBLEM !!! in HTC P3400i IMPORTANT !!! - General Topics

Dear Friends,
Iam here to share an important problem that i faced in my newly bought HTC P3400i mobile, hope this would be very helpful for those who are planning to buy this mobile. I bought this mobile on 7th November 2008, on the very first day i feel very happy to see that mobile, all features are good. I put my SIM (Airtel) and started using the mobile. The next day some of my friends asked me "why dont u pick my call ?, i called you several times yesterday, " but i didn't got such calls at the particular time they said. As days passed lot of people asked the same, i called you but you didn't pick the call, also i was not able to sent messages properly, most of my messages are awaited in the outbox, also not able to receive messages from others. then i go to the mobile showroom where i bought and complaint about the problem i faced. They told that there was an incompactibility in HTC for airtel, as you are using airtel it was happend,(but i face the same problem in other networks also, like Aircel, Bsnl) you have to update a software for this problem. They gave me the adress where to update this software, i went to the service center and updated the specified software. Even after updating the same problem occurs. The call problem was reduced, but the message problem remains. The problem was not solved fully, i was not satisfied, then few days passed, again i got problem with that mobile , the sim card was not detected. When i put the sim it say's INVALID SIM , i tried all other sim cards, the problem occurs, the same sim i used in other mobile works fine. The network automatically disconnected often, if i try to make calls, it says "The phone is not ready please wait". I never expect this from this mobile. I read most of the forums before i bought this mobile, but i dont know this mobile is having such continoius problems. Now i gave the mobile for service and started using my old mobile,(NOTE The age of my HTC is not yet completed 1month , but within this period i face lot of problems.
Note : Without proper testing with all networks in india, how can they release the model in India ?
Please enquire well before going for this mobile...
My personal opinion for you friends... please do not go for costly mobile. if so enquire well before you buy... my friend used Motorola PDA , he is also facing a lot of problem and now using a budget mobile...for further enquiries please message me friends.
Please send me your suggestion and feedback...
Thanks
Vijay

Picture messaging

I'm having trouble reciving picture messages. I get the message saying I recived one but then when I click on the get media content it never downloads the picture. Same for when I try to send one. What's the solution
Sent from my HD7 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
i see your using an HD7, what carrier? any mods you've made?
make sure you have data turned on. pic messages need your data connection to work. wifi won't cut it and for usa tmobile, most times 2g (edge) won't cut it either.
I have t-mobile. All my data connections are on. 3g connection on and data on. Still don't work

you are able to access the internet without issues? If so, you need to contact tmobile.
Hi tperson1,
I had exactly the same problem on o2 uk.
This lasted for nearly two months. Phone was not updated at the time.
I was originally able to send and receive picture messages when I first got the phone, but this broke after about a month. I went to the o2 shop and asked for advice. Their response was that it was either because the phone needed updating (which wasn't available at the time) or their was a hard wear problem. They informed me that they would happily send it to HTC for repair, and provide a cheap replacement phone for the month or so it would take. Understandably I wasn't happy with this.
I then contacted o2 customer services who offered a swop for a new model. They then said that HTC advised changing the sim card first and sent me another to try before a swop.
However, the problem appeared to resolve itself before I received the new Sim card. I received the feb update shortly after and touch wood I have not experienced the problem since.
Hope that helps.

No Signal Problem/Unlocked phone

Hi !
I need urgent help , i bought SONY ERRICSON EXPERIA PRO MK16I FROM EBAY.
The phone is imported and i am from india , the dealer says that the phone is unlocked.
Ecert thing works fine but there is a huge network problem.
Phone is gsm and only 2-3 network providers like vodafone and reliance work but the signals are so poor that the call may drop at any second, while using internet signals drops everytime, even on the top floor the signals are poor , just one or two bars some times the bars are full the again the bars are no more.
The phone had android 2.3 operating system which was upgraded by the dealer to 4.0
i used upgraded from sony web side and from software nothing work
it's not working. It's been like this for around 1 months now, and I really want it to work! And i've tried reseting, updating the ROM, changing SIM card and put in a totally new SIM card and it's work but signals:crying: drop every time, oh i am so upset.... SIGNAL DROPS EVERY TIME !!
dealer refused to return the phone , i bought the phone from the dealer so it's under seller warranty
the sony service center in india is so poor that they will steal my mobile parts if i will take their help.
i have shown the phone to some local mobile repair experts and some says that network ic is the problem , emei is the problem , some say the phone might not unlocked , some say that do not have the files to solves the problem because the phone is imported.
Is there anyone who can tell me what is the problem with this cellphone
I have tried up every possible way and i am not financially strong to buy a new phone and i don't know who will buy this cellphone if i am ready to sell it ..

Sorry, but I don't have this phone.
We all where noobs at some point and started with nothing.
The link provides a step by step guide, so trowing your arms up and saying i know nothing - help me wont cut it here am afraid.
Get your **** together and learn how to follow instructions.
If you run into problems, try again, only if all else fails come back and ask for help.
This sounds like a firmware issue. Did you look around for the proper firmwares to flash.. remember don't flash firmwares with an unlocked bootloader. Flash before , then unlock then root. Flashing firmwares on a unlocked bootloader bricked our Sony play. I have since relocked the bootloader and flashed over the UK firmwares. Now we get 3g. Before this we were stuck on 2g (edge). Be careful and good luck

[Q] help with GT N7000 00499 imei problem?

Hello
new on here, and hoping someone can point me in the right direction please - I think my phone has developed an issue with it's IMEI, it will no longer register on any networks to make calls or send texts, although 3g internet works. It is a galaxy Note GT N7000 on android 4.1.2 and seems to have a generic 00499 IMEI number. I live in the UK
I've had the phone since new with my contract. I wondered if something happened after the last android update, or whether it has developed another issue. I didn't want to renew my contract, so when it expired I started using a PAYG SIM, and that has been fine for the last 3 weeks so I don't think my phone is locked. The SIM works in other phones so there is credit and network coverage.
It is unmodified, and I have never rooted the device, or installed any custom software. I read online that that automatic updates can sometimes cause Galaxy phones problems resulting in a default IMEI number. As I have only installed automatic updates through KIES and via my previous mobile network, I wondered if this has caused a preoblem, of if the phone is blocked!?
I would send it for repair but I don't live near any repairs shops :crying: I don't want to change the IMEI just restore it to what is on the label if that will fix the 'not registered on network' problem.
If it means buying a new mobile, then I'm happy to learn something new to try to repair it....just where to start?
thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:

[Completed] Oneplus one network issue

I purchased one in January and rooted to put Oxygen OS at the time of release. Everything was working fine until a week back I dropped the phone and the screen broke. I couldn't check the exact issue but since service centre people asked me literally 12k to fix it I contacted another know service person and got the screen fixed. From the time I got my phone the imei number is missing and I am not able to use my sim, when ever I insert my aim I get an error saying "error in searching for network". The sim works perfectly fine with other phones and on other oneplus one as well. To resolve this, I followed a post and re flashed my one plus one to stock again by fastboot. Now my phone recognizes its imei number but the network issue is still there. Once the network was registered and I was able to make couple of calla but that don't last more than a minute. I am not sure what to do at this point and any help would greatly be appreciated. I am from Bangalore, India and use Tata DoCoMo as my network.
Thanks!

My Honor 6 doesn't connect to any mobile network with a specific SIM!

Dear Friends,
I have an Honor 6 H60-L04 phone.
first time poster here, but long time lurker. I've found this forum very helpful plenty of times, I hope you guys can give me some hint to solve my ludicrous problem.
Until yesterday morning I was an happy user of my phone, but since then the phone utterly refused to connect to any mobile network (2G/3G/4G) with my main sim card. I'm not just talking about data connection, but voice connection too... I mean it doesn't "log on" to any kind of mobile network of my operator.
The Android system page where I can change the mobile network settings is all greyed out in fact.
At the beginning I thought it was due to an error in the sim and/or the phone... so I put the sim in an old nokia 3310 and it worked. Ok I then thought it was the phone then: I put the sim of another operator in the phone and... IT WORKED!!!
Ok then for Murphy's law I thought it may be due to the sim AND the phone so yesterday afternoon I went to a retail store of my operator and made a replacement of the sim, keeping the number and the plans of course.
I put the sim in the phone and the same thing as above happened: the sim works flawlessly in the old nokia 3310 too.
I put ANOTHER sim of the SAME operator in the Honor 6 and it WORKED!!!! :crying:
I called the operator explaining all of the above and they told me something like this never happened to them and it doesn't make much sense, not to mention it's all ok from their network side regarding my phone line. There isn't any IMEI ban as well...
They suggested my it may be some kind of block which occurred in my phone for the specific phone number... but is it even possible to do something like that with an Android phone to begin with?
Could a total reset of the phone help?
I don't want to buy a new smartphone for something as stupid as this...

Yes , the only solution is to factory reset .
If u think u had blocked a specific sim, then a data wipe can clear that issue . Though this question is old or posted long time ago , i was answering to make sure this helps someone and on Someday
