dialpad looks wrong - General Questions and Answers

hey u guys and gals
i have a lil problem
i have changed my dialpad skin (wm 6) and now the keys are not on the position where they used to be!
look at this:
any idea how to fix this?
thx in advance

Perhaps that dialpad was not designed for your device. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling or installing a different dial pad.
* remember most dial pads require that you soft reset your device in order for them to install properly or uninstall properly. Maybe you are having this problem because you didn't soft reset before trying to use it after installing it.

ok
1. yes it is for my device but i had an other dialpad before which had bigger keys
2. yes i have done a soft reset before installing and uninstalling
may they be a xml file for dialpad wich can be replaced with an original wm6 dialpad xml? if yes can someone upload his original xml for the dialpad?
(is that possible???)

2 small things that would make the phone perfect..

1. Auto-unlock when sliding out the keyboard.
2. No on screen keyboards when slide-keyboard is out.
There must be ways to make this happen with some hack or app..
Maybe there is, but I could not find it on this forum.
Probably this is what you looking for ?
If it is ........then there is just one small thing left
cool.......
I surgested in the gyrator2 topic to add the slide keyboard to the events options, who know this might turn out to be my ideal phone
S2U2 has the unlock feature you are wanting and now can also be unlocked by pulling out the stylus.
-To unlock when the keyboard is opened just enable the setting "unlock when screen is rotated"

Can you help me?
I went to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip then created a DWORD named TurnOffAutoDeploy with value 1
Soft reset the phone
Slide the keyboard out
Then I opened Opera, go to google, then I select the search form and there is the virtual keyboard on screen
What did I do wrong?
Check the registry, is the edit still there or is it gone? If it is gone then retry and them make sure you wait about a minute, put the phone to sleep and then soft reset.
that's an opera issue... i think everybody has this problem
p.s.
Autodeploy SIP can be done from Advanced Config 3.2 as well..

Japanese QVGA IME - Help!!

Hi All,
I have been trying to get japanese input working on my Raphael, and have run into some problems. Here's what I have done:
1. Installed LesJapanNo6 - all working/tested no problems
soft reset
2. Installed IME_31J_QVGA_F file
soft reset
-> manila.exe error, device.exe error, and another exe error (can't remember now - think it was TouchFlo3d related). Hardware keys dead.
3. Made the registry edit to get hardware keys working
soft reset (note, regional settings still Japanese)
After that, every time I would try and input something, or change the input method, I get ongoing crashes in device.exe (until I closed the kayboard).
I then decided to change the regional setting back to English (UK), and then soft reset. Now it starts with no errors, but input is stuck on hiragana and the keyboard icon has disappeared so no standard romaji input.
I think I now have to install the enable_ime_2 and/or enable_ime_3 cabs, but am paranoid I have already done something wrong (crashes etc from step 2). Can anyone more experienced hint at the final steps to get this all working?
Thanks,
Raj
The steps you have above should work fine, but use the VGA version:
http://rapidshare.com/files/159514259/IME_31J_F.cab.html
You might need to go ahead and hard reset before you try again.
Just for reference, I have LetsJapanNo6 and IME_31J_F on my Raphael 1.90.405.1 WWE (UK stock ROM), with the following reg tweaks applied:
Code:
[HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload]
default = "E0010411"
[HKCU\Keyboard Layout\Preload\1]
default = "E0010411"
[HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\IMEJP\3.1\MSIME]
Option3 = "D"
[HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e0010411]
Keyboard Layout = "00000409"
Word of caution: when you go to edit the reg values, highlight the text and write over it; don't use the backspace key, because for some reason it inserts a lot of garbled text. Once you've saved the reg edits and soft-reset, the backspace key functions as normal again.
Also consider using PQzII to map keycode 0xE6 to IME; this will allow you to press the SYM key on the hardware keyboard to toggle between ascii (A→a) and kana (A→あ) input.
Other known issues: JP IME breaks T9/word suggestion, some other minor oddities.
SoftBank is releasing its version of the Raphael, so be on the lookout for a native JP ROM (which will have everything set up correctly) in the future.
Working perfectly now, fantastic!!!
Thanks!!!
I tried to map the SYM button to IME. But there is no way for me to specify 0xE6 in the IME menu.
is the new Raphael PQzII different?

I typed it in.
I'm using 008e1, but the latest e2 should be fine.
I have had this working for about a month now but was wondering how to get a keyboard shortcut to switch the kana/romanji input. This works perfect.. thanks!!!
thanks!!!
just a shot question:
as I use the hw-kb of my xperia for inputting text, it would be cool to have the tegaki-kb as standard one. Whenever I set it in Windows Mobile-Settings, it gets switched back to romaji-kb on restart.
is there a reg-hack for this?
would greatly appreciate your help!!!

It might be a problem with Xperia Panels resetting it to romaji-kb (TouchFlo3D does the same thing on the Touch Pro).
If you use PQzII, you can configure it to override the default input panel. You can even specify different default panels for portrait and landscape. Just open up the setup program (PQzII_Setup) and the settings is on the first page.
nevermind, got everything working!
thanks!

Touch keyboard error

I do not know why my touch keyboard change to like this (please read the enclosed screen, all the alphabets gone, except p and w), I have tried to hardreset and then reinstall all the programs. It works fine for a couple weeks but all the sudden it changes again.
I am usng english version.
Do anyone has this kind of error? How to fix it? Please help
click the small arrow at the bottom of the screen, and select full QWERTY.
hope that helps.
I have the same problem and selecting full qwerty doesn't solve that. It is already qwerty , but it is somehow stuck on the number input layout.
Any other chance to solve this?

just an idea:
Did you try to select a different type of keyboard ("Phone Keypad" or "Keyboard") and then switch back to "Full QWERTY" again?
Did you disable xT9? if so, re-enable it and soft reset. This could solve your issue as someone earlier in the forum had the exact same issue and was solved the same way. search for that old post.
great! Thanks for advice, omar!
I've unistalled some xt9 tweak for czech language.
And I've edited some registry keys
... it's working again!
Code:
HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\Ime\TextInputMode = 1
HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\Ime\CurrentET9Style= 0
Hope some of that helps... I've done more edits at one time so I don't know which was the one that solved it.

No Touch keypad & Touch Keyboard

can u help my problem?? i have polaris 2nd hand
my polaris dont have "touch keypad" & "touch keyboard" at input panel. how to solve this problem. thx
hellloo...
Do first soft reset, if don't help do a hard reset. I have same problem after installing new Rom, after restart the keyboard was fixed.
I can't too. I installed Touch-keyboard-keypad, Registry Enable HTC Keypad, as well as Finger Keyboard 2.1. I am able to select it, but it will return to normal keyboad. Touch keyboard and keypad shows not effect no matter how many times I'd selected it. I'd tried restart and restart, install reinstall.. it never seems to work. I went to SIP change too... everything seems ok while setting.. but the Touch keyboard and keypad never comes out.
Sigh... whole morning of setting it after flashing a new 6.5 rom... it's... really tiring...
I flashed another 6.5 rom before with those mentioned above, and it works well... im not sure.. why isn't it functioning this time.
anyone can help in this?

hard Reset.
What do you mean "default manila"? 2.1, 2.5? Did you switch to Titanium? Install a theme?

but it doesnt work out so i have uninstall the cab but it doesnt work out
and want to restore back my original one
I see.
Did you soft reset after you uninstalled it?
If it doesn't, you can find the stock clock cab, or as Frank said, you'll have to hard reset....
They usually uninstall though.

Go to Settings\Device Information\Software Information and find your Manila Version there.
Then you need to find a clock for that version by searching eg, Manila Flip Clock 2.5.1921.
This will hopefully keep you from having to do a hard reset.
Anytime you uninstall a Manila tweak, you have to perform a soft reset, no data loss, by pulling out your stylus and pressing the small red button underneath.
If that doesn't fix it, you'll have to do a hard reset by powering off your phone, then hit power button, while holding both volume keys until white screen appears, then follow the onscreen promts. This will set your phone back to factory settings and all data stored on it will be deleted.

It should do the trick, I've instaled and uninstalled that clock myself and it worked after a soft reset.
Nice work on those clocks BTW.....
