Hey,
can anyone help me.
I have an unlocked XDA II and I would like to change the default voicemail number from 901 to 121, can somebody tell me where you change this settings.
Cheers
Gigi
Go to start/settings/phone then click services, click voice mail and sms, then click get settings, you can change it from there.
on XDA I : start -> settings -> phone -> services -> voice mail and sms
Hey
thanks for the reply but the one I would like to change is when your are in the active screen.
go to messaagging/voicemail
That is the one I want to change it is set to 901.
I would like to change it to the Vodafone one which is 121

I am also having trouble enterng the voicemail number.
Whenever I enter the voicemailnumber in the boxes you get after 'Get settings', a tap om 'ok' just gives me the message the information could not be updated to the network.
I reckon that is just the case, BUT these info (SMS messagecentre and voicemail number) should NOT be updated 'to the network'. These number just reside on the SIM.
Because no voicemailnumber is set-up, the default speed-dial (1-key) for voicemail, which cant be deleted, does not work either . . .
Does anyone have a clue how to enter a voicemailnumber ??
Found a solution, see my other thread:

what i want to do is to automatically add a specific prefix to all outgoing calls made, for the purpose of saving calling fee in my area. for instance, i want to add 1234 before any call number, whether it's from call history, contact, or any other sources.
im a .net developer, but i didn't find any managed library that can intercept a phone call and make modifications to it. i also explored the TAPI a little bit, it appeared to be able to do the work for me. but the problem is i've no idea of c++ programming.
so is there anybody here who can help me on how to wrap these native methods into managed counterparts?
any/other clue would be appreciated.
Take a look at Google Voice. Perhaps that might be simpler to use to save money on calls?
Hi,
try with Settings > Connections > Advanced > Dialing Rules
I think you can setup a profile that fit your needs.

doesn't work. and i don't think that setting is for phone connection.
actually i've changed my idea to developing a separate application to access call history and contact. and then when call button is clicked, use the managed Phone class to dial out. this still needs native dll as to accessing the call history. but this seems to be more practical than intercepting outgoing calls.
iDialer
http://supware.net/iDialer/
Not sure if this is exactly what you want, but I use this with my Googlevoice configuration to make free calls. Here's how I have it set up:
1. Installed iDialer
2. Installed configuration CAB that I built through the iDialer website
3. Click the phone icon within iDialer to set it to "Ask" which service to use.
4. I also have installed iContact, so I then go the contact I want through iContact.
5. I select the number for that contact that I want to dial (Home, Work, Mobile, etc.)
6. My phone brings up a pop-up asking:
-Alltel
-GoogleVoice Internet
-GoogleVoice CallingCard
7. I select what I want and it dials that instantly.
This works VERY well for me, and I am able to use my callingcard for out-of-network calls, and Alltel for quick in-network calls.
Hope this info helps!

thanks for the details.
i have 2 queries b4 actually trying it:
1. does the phone call get available via the network? if yes, then it's not applicable for me, cos i'm using gprs which is slow if i want to transfer voice.
2. i checked out google voice and found that it only supports numbers in US. true?
Moved as not software release or development.
Please take your time to read the rules..
I have my TP2 pluged into the stereo and the charger via the dongle that came with my TP. I run Sirius, Pandora, and my Resco radio all the time. When the phone rings, I get up see who is calling and then hit the button to answer. The stereo becomes a speakerphone, I love that!!
Now Voice Command can tell me who is calling and also read my texts thru the stereo, that is cool as well. But what would be nice is an app that would ask if I want to answer or ignore, or even send a busy text. Then I could say "Answer", "Ignore", or "Text" without getting up. Lazy? right? but I want it!!!
Anybody know of such an app??
If none exists I would love to make a donation to get it or buy the app.
So does anyone have any idea, or can someone make this happen? $50 for the creator of the cab that fits the request!
I think you can go to the phone options and enable auto answer. Start > settings > personal > phone. Browse to the "More" tab. Automatic pickup should be there and you can set how you want it to be activated.

except for the part that I dont answer all calls. thanks for the idea tho.
goto openmarket, I know there are a lot of button based , you might find one that will do voice.
Is there a program for the HD2 that will allow me to have the name on the person calling mentioned whilst ringing so I can hear who is calling?
I've tried Voice2go but that doesn't seem to work.
Thanx
Try Microsoft Voice Command. Works perfect for me
OK, I've install it on my HD2 but I can't find the program on the phone to try and set the settings. I click on start but the program isn't there, any ideas?
Also how do I map a button to activate voice command? when I go START > SETTINGS > MENU (ALL SETTINGS) > PERSONAL > BUTTONS, there are no buttons for me to select.
And you say this will actually say the persons name who is calling and not just the number when it rings?
I just checked mine(TmoUS HD2) and I have VC vers. 1.6.21892 preinstalled and after setting it to "announce incoming calls" it does speak the callers name.
