GWE (GUI) subclassing - General Questions and Answers

hello,
does anybody have some pieces of sample code about GWE subclassing / skinning the OS UI ? - like wisbar advance / icbar / pocketblinds does ?
i'd like to create something like a wisbar AD lite for PPC2003 - to make it look more modern - especially the old fashioned commandbar/menubar.
thank you!

Chris over at lakeridgesoftware.com, owner of WisBar Advance, was thinking about making his theme engine open source. He might if you ask... if there's interest.
Sorry if this isn't what you want. I don't know what you mean by "GWE classing" or whatever.
Then, of course, there's WisBar Advance 1.x.x (freeware).

Windows Mobile 2006 Skin for Wisbar in WM2005

Hey all,
I really like the embossed title and bottom bars on the windows 2006 mobile interface. Always thought it was a very simple, yet creative step up in design.
I don't like most wisbar skins because they are filled with useless icons, functions, and things I don't use.
Is there a way to get Windows mobile 2005 to look like windows mobile 2006?
Thanks for the help.
Bump.
Anyone?
A wisbar skin?
A installation file?
Nobody's done this yet?
Very simple now. Just get the beta copy of wisbar advance 3 from their forums. The default theme being used in it is crossbow

TP android theme

Is there any Touch Pro android themes.. beside adrokkid (stupid).
I like Androkkid, Not too sure whats out there, but someones probably created a theme for WAD (wisbar adv. desktop)
Otherwise you would create one yourself (with WAD - Its not too hard)

How can i create my own theme ?

Id like to take on the task of creating my own theme specifically for the tg01 but i really dont know where to start. Which images are themeable and what programs do i need to create a theme ? Id like to do a theme for windows 6.5 along with spb.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd suggest that you start by dissasembling one of the MS standard Themes supplied with WM6.5. There are .cabs for each of these in this post on XDA.
A Theme (.tsk) is just a .cab file containing a series of images used to skin different elements of the screen / UI. At its simplest, creating a new theme can be a question of editing / substituting one or more of those files and then re-packing into the .tsk file and iinstalling. It is of course possible to substantially alter the .xml definition files which specify the layout of elements and their behaviours.
To manipulate .cab files a good (full payware, and not cheap) tool is WinCECABManager. It is available on a trial basis (30 days). There are also other less elegant tools which can be found with a search which will do the job.
There are a lot of threads elsewhere addressing this subjetct - it is WM version specific rather than device specific.
