I need help how to set exception to recurring tasks on pocket outlook. Let's say I have a tasks that occurs on the 15th of every month. However if the 15th occurs on Saturday/Sunday (non workday) I would like the tasks to be done on the Friday (13th/14th). How do I do this pattern?
Also how do I set-up the tasks reminder so it should notify me two days before the due date, but only once each day? Hitting snooze seems so kludgy.
Thanks.

Any ideas how to set up a profile (like I have for the Exchange sync) so that I don't get my phone waking me up in the middle of the night every time it automatically checks my POP3 e-mail.
Sure, I could set it to silent, but then my alarm doesn't go off kin the morning.
Sure, I could sync POP3 e-mail manually, but that's a pain in the arse during the day.
I can set my Exchange sync to only work between certain hours, why not POP3?
bump...just this once.
Not really an answer to the problem but i am usng SPB Time for my alarm functions and that overrides the silent setting and has nice big Off and Snooze buttons as well..
Like your thinking deedee...
I use Profiles for Windows, which can be found here...
http://www.winmobileapps.com/device/pocketpc/pwm/pwm.aspx
I have a number of profiles that switch time through the day and then at night it switches the phone off, then switches it back on at 5:30 in the morning.
Works seemlessly - most of the time.
I have had a TP2 for about two weeks and have a problem I can't find a fix for.
I travel across time zones frequently. When the TP2 clock updates to the new time zone all the times in the calendar change.
The only workaround I have found is to set the home and visiting times to EDT and disabling the clock auto updating, but this makes the time shown on home page wrong whenever it is not in my home time zone.
Does anybody know a way to fix this?
Thanks
Don't they just update to the time zone you are in and then return back to "normal" when you return to your home timezone? I'm not totally sure I understand your question with this, as this is something that I personally like
If this is what your issue is I'll fiddle with it and see if I can find a fix.
The problem I have is I when I stay in the other time zones all the calendar times are off.
Example: If I am in Denver, Mountain time zone, and I want to enter a flight next week from Seattle to Indianapolis do I add 1 hour to the Seattle departure time and subtract 1 hour from the Indianapolis arrival time, or is it the other way around? Too confusing and too many ways to mess up.
I want to put sync my Outlook calendar with the TP2 calendar. When I travel the times on Outlook do not change when the time on my laptop changes, but all the times on the TP2 change.
Thanks
I set the proper time zone when creating the calendar appointment in outlook on my laptop (I think its under options). Then I'm always on the right time. On the phone, I have to "fool it" by temporarily setting the clock to that alternate time zone before creating the new appointment, but with the world clock its pretty quick.
I don't want the times in the calendar to ever change. I want them to stay the same no matter what time zone the phone is in.
If I disable the clock updating the calendar times will not change, but now I have a phone with the displayed time wrong except when I am in my home time zone.
Does anybody use a TP2 when they travel?
There should be a way to make this calendar not change when crossing time zones.
I don't have a solution for this, but I suspect that when you change time zones, there is nothing that will keep all of the appointments from changing.
I don't know this to be a fact with 6.1, but I suspect that like in other operating systems, the dates are stored in UTC time. When they are displayed on the screen, they are adjusted, on the fly, for the proper time zone. If this is true for 6.1, then it's all or nothing.
I'm on an Exchange Server, so I can enter appointments anywhere and they sync to the phone. When I travel, I DO NOT change the TZ on my laptop and enter the calendar appointments on it, not the phone. This may not work for you, but it's a thought.
Is there any possible way to schedule a recurring event within a limited time frame?
Let's say I have class every Monday/Wednesday from August 20th till December 6th.
Is it possible to set a repeat event that will stop repeating after December 6th? If I schedule a weekly event, it seems to schedule it forever.
Hello Folks,
I am new here, and found this thread while I was experimenting in Tasker. I would like to find a way to get me notified if a certain contact has not sent me an SMS for a definite period of time. For example, if Contact A has not sent me an SMS for about an hour.
A profile like this will really help me and my friends in a project that we are doing.
Thanks!
Sorry if this is too late, but off the top of my head you could make a task that increments a variable every, say, 1 minute (loop forever with a 60000ms delay at the beginning). Right after incrementing the variable, check to see if it is >= 60. If so, send an alert and rest the variable.
Now, every time a text arrives (I don't know how to tell who a text is from with tasker, but I believe there's a way), reset the variable back to 0. You could also have a variable array to hold multiple contacts.
Just my 2ยข...
All day yesterday phone was casually checked. Texts, calls, browsing..then at 10pm all of a sudden 6 emails sent throughout the day all push through simultaneously.
Is there any way to get instant emails again? Kind of ridiculous that this is an issue.
Yes I have done all power saving features as this only happens with Gmail
I'm also having this problem. I don't necessarily only get emails at the end of the night, but while my TeslaUnread will indicate that I have an email, it does not notify me in the notification shade (or get sent to my Garmin watch). I may get a notification in a few minutes or 30 minutes or an hour. I guess it just depends.
And, if I take an action on an email such as delete or archive, it does not update my webmail until I manually refresh the app.
I'm testing a workaround. I've installed BlueMail and made it exempt from battery optimization (you can't do it for Gmail as it does not appear in the list of apps to exempt from battery optimization). Now if I have an email in my inbox and take an action such as delete or archive in BlueMail, it immediately is reflected in my webmail view. I sent myself a test email and it appears pretty much immediately in my notifications for BlueMail but not for Gmail.
So if you want to see if this fixes your issue:
- install a third party client (BlueMail looks pretty good)
- configure your email account
- turn on notifications
- do some testing
If your notifications start working normally then it seems that battery optimization (aka Doze) is responsible for Gmail's tardiness.
