I dont think it is possible, and even if it is i'd rather not update in your place try using TNT rom 19199 its fastest rom ever http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=367534

g3 and g4 are different in terms of their hardware parts... (correct me if im wrong masters). i think the only way to have a g4 device is to replace the main board chipset of your g3 device which is almost the same as getting another G4 wizard unit.

Help with giving new life to an old wizard

First of all let me start by apologizing for the type of help im about to ask
For the record I was a total noob on this regard but i searched and read quite a bit and I now feel more than comfortable to take the plunge and flash up a new rom on my QTEK 9100 after a one year rest due to a broken miniUSB plug i recently decided to fix with superglue
however im stuck on one aspect that I just cant decide.. I want WM6 or WM6.1 that is stable, snappier than my current WM5 and most of all TouchFlo with a cube just like my sister's HTC Touch Duo. That is basically what i need as my main use for the phone is SMS and general phonecalls and some light games or movies but i'll handle that later..
I've searched alot amidst the heaps of roms available but i can't decide on one to pick.. At first I was going for NBD 8.3 as I read alot of good stuff about it and it had all i wanted.. Then i realized though that it was quite old and started looking at some more recent releases but just couldnt pick one from all those features I have no clue about
So the question is:
Will I be fine with NBD 8.3? or should i try something else, more recent, that will perform better for my needs?
BTW I have a G4 QTEK 9100
Thanks in advance, and sorry for posting yet another one of these questions.. Even though Im aware that there is no *BEST* rom to use, I just need some advice and/or personal input as to one that will fill my needs nicely

Hello there....
i can suggest you (if you want the new/fresh ROMS)
there are 6.1 and 6.5 WM versions from CRACING and XDA2_HASSEB
both cookers are amazing.
Now im using the XDS2_HASEEB 6.5 newer version, very nice, stable, and looks fresh (colorfull) LOL
GOOD LUCK
In addition to the cooks mentioned by tigrisimo, I recommend looking at some of the stuff from S.V.I. His are some of the fastest and tightest ROMs around, if you can get past his penchant for unusual theme art.
In other news, I would suggest that you give up your quest for the cube. It's slow, massive, and dated.
Take a look at the Manila 2d today plugin for wm6, and the CHOME/Titanium for WM 6.5. They provide easy access to phone features in a similar but superior way.

LG Fathom to WP7 ?

Hey all,
I know this is another one of those "can my phone handle WP7" threads that we all HATE to see but, My TP2 broke and Asurion is offering me a LG Fathom. After looking over the specs, I am wondering why it would not be capable of running Windows Phone 7.
It's got a smaller display but, it does have 1ghz snapdragon processor and very compareable to a HD2 (accept a lot smaller), it's newer than the HD2 and from the factory come with 6.5.3.
Has anyone attemped or thought at putting Windows Phone 7 on it ?
In case anyone has a broken TP2 and has the Insurance, they have no more...
We have one of these lying around in the shop as well, and would be nice to have as a WP7 development device. Anyone have any thoughts on the porting?
screen it is not multitouch, disregarding processor capabilities...
Regards!
Could an android device have wp7 ported over to it?

In theory it should not be a problem if the device in question has a WVGA screen, Snapgragon chipset and 512 or more MB of RAM. In practice you will need a compatible bootloader and so far only the HD2 has one....created for the occasion.
On the HD2 it's done the following way:
1. The original bootloader is hacked, so you can flash any unsigned stuff you may desire.
2. A second bootloader is flashed that goes in the chain after the original hacked bootloader.
3. For WinMobile 6.5 you use the original bootloader. Android and Windows Phone 7 are flashed and booted by the second bootloader, which is a completely custom creation.
You will need something like MAGLDR on the HD2 for any device in order to get a second OS running as the original bootloader will probably not support the needed partition layouts etc. Other than that every Desire, Nexus One or similar device should be perfectly capable of running WP7.

[Q] lg optimus lte2 ( f160 ) vs sky/panted a830

hey guys was hoping you could help me out,
im on the verge of getting a new phone and have shortlisted my option to these two
the sky/pantech a83k/l/s gsmarena.com/pantech_vega_racer_2_im_a830l-4738.php
lg optimus lte2 f160 k/l/s gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_lte2-4739.php
the opimus lte2 is slightly more expensive, but seems totally worth it with its better screen and specially the 2 GB RAM!
the only thing holding me back a bit is that I cant seem to find any custom english rom for it. The default korean ics im sure will be a huge nuecanse so this is kind of turning out to be a deal breaker for me?
I dont know much about android and custom roms so was hoping someone here could help me with it..
thanks in advance

Trying to root or modify phone help please

I figure if anyone can answer this question it would be you people here cuz ya'll rock. Ok I have an LG Vista vs880 with Verizon Wireless and XDA doesnt even have the phone listed so I looked into it and found out it used to be called the LG G Pro2 untill it went to Verizon where they renamed it the LG Vista vs880. First off can anyone tell me if I could use the info I'm finding here on the G Pro2 and apply it to modifying my Vista vs880? Second is it possible to root the Vista vs880? Lastly can anyone tell me anything I can do to make this phone more user friendly for myself like ROMs etc. I've been scanning this site for weeks to see if there would be any info and finally I had to buckle down and ask. Thanks for any info like i said you guys kick ass I've been coming here to modify my samsung galaxy tab 10.1 forever now
a quick google search brings up this:
http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g_vista-6569.php
it's not related to the G Pro 2 in anyway, it's more of a G3 sibling.
try this forum instead: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/lg-g-vista-root-request-t2849017
