Attention, this ROM version is now deprecated, see this thread for Q-Mobile 1.2!
Well, it was bound to happen...I love all the custom ROMs out there but none of them quite suited my needs. I'm a business traveler and as such I tend to need lots of screen real estate, and a fast device, with the best software preloaded and optimizations up the wazoo.
Introducing Q-Mobile...it's all of that and more. You can see best what applications are loaded from the screen shots below. Suffice it to say, they don't even begin to do justice to the fine grained care that has been taken to configure each application for optimum use ability. I have been working on this ROM for almost a week now--my method is far deeper than simply throwing packages and RGU files together and hoping for the best. There are literally HUNDREDS of registry tweaks and care was taken with every application added--no file was left unscrutinized or tested.
Some Highlights (this is an extremely compact feature list of what I added/removed/changed):
.Net CF 3.5
SqlCe 3.5
FULL Video Access (Main YouTube as well as m.youtube)
Custom KaiserTweak for this ROM.
Arcsoft MMS 4.2.8.1
Esmertec Java 2007.08.02
Microsoft Office 2007
Microsoft One Note Mobile
HTC Equalizer 1.0.2
HTC Random Access
TCPMP 0.81
It is worth noting that this ROM is intended for the HTC TYTN II style devices (e.g. Radio 14.09 will not work).
WWE (English) ROM : MegaUpload |RapidShare
I'd like to thank everyone on all forums but especially xda-developers. Without people like you none of this would be possible. In addition it is probably obvious that I pilfered what I considered the cream of the crop applications, ideas, graphics, etc. No doubt many reading this will realize their work in here somewhere.
P.S. You may notice a seeming lack of applications--that is because I personally heavily use Spb and Resco products to complete my device. Feel free to download individual cabs to fill in any freeware you feel should be integrated.
Enjoy,

No, I left this as part of the ROM image...check dutty's page though, he should have a link for it: http://www.cinetsystems.com/xda/index.php?path=Kaiser+Cab+Collections/

Field test is an application that exists on every device (unless it has been cooked out) and is extremely useful for troubleshooting network problems. Obviously you can remove the link for it if you don't like it--the exe is only 33KB so its not exactly a hog.
Restore Black Bars is a tiny app courtesy of jasjamming that restores black bars if you change your theme then decide to go back to the default.
SQL Query analyzer is an app that's included with the new SQL CE 3.5...I'm not really sure how useful it would be but again, its tiny so if you don't like it just remove the \Windows\Start Menu\System\SQL Query Analyzer.lnk file.

I originally wrote "nope, too sluggish for me". This is a misstatement given that TouchFLO is indeed included (as evidenced by the screen shots. TouchFLO is the application that allows finger scrolling in many apps (ala iPhone). What I was referring to was FTouchFLO/Touch Cube (the app that allows gestures to bring up special screens (other facets of the 3D view, etc). That is not included.
Keep in mind that you can tweak or turn off TouchFLO through the KaiserTweak app under Programs\System. I myself turn it off because Spb Pocket Plus offers better support and functionality in this regard.

Thxx for the explaining.
How did you get the Equalizer to work?
Too bad it does not have Touch Flo. Or else I would install this rom.
which radio?
It's late, getting sleepy......I'd like to experiment tomorrow.
What radio would you suggest using for an ATT Tilt phone?
How's the battery performance?
Any possibility of summarizing more details of the work that you've put into this ROM?
Thanks.
Downloading now!
The benchmark result looks great! I also think TouchFlo is too sluggish, it is only for people who want to have a nice look but not the speed or stability.
Thanks for sharing us!

It does not matter when you have a TITL or TyTN II. At the moment you are using Dutty's Hybrid NO.7 NUSkool RTM with Radio 1.27.12.17. So you can flash this Q-Mobile rom.
But you should know that when you flash any roms what is built from AT&T rom, you need to flash radio 1.27.14.09!!!
This thing have Connection Setup/Network Wizard? Thoughts on reliability and speed versus Dutty, anyone?
Whats the Wireless modem thingy in the connections menu ?
congrats
It looks Great, Nice to see your cooking mate, well done

You can turn your device in a Wireless router.
There's no connection/network wizard, which is a bit of a shame. It's not a show stopper for me (always keep a T-Mobile cab handy on my storage card), but it could limit the adoption for this ROM.
I've just flashed and configured Activesync, here's my thoughts so far:
Appearance: Nice. It's got the cool black look, and it's even got a nice new image for WinMobile's equivalent to the hour glass - the spinning pie chart - which is more in keeping with the black feel. There's a single theme installed (good), and the splash screen is quite nice too.
Speed: Pretty good. I'd put it slightly ahead of Dutty, but perhaps slightly slower than Custel with Mobile Crack. Screen rotate is a little slow, but app switching is speedy (instantly back into messaging, or contacts).
Apps and config: There's no keyboard sliding sound icon, which might be a problem for some. I always turn it off anyway, and that's the default here. There aren't really many surprises in terms of app choices.
All in all I'm very impressed with it. I'm going to give it a few days to see if it does anything to upset me
hmm, going to def give this a try for a bit..

Sure, I was tired last night and didn't really feel like elaborating. Here goes...
All help files updated/removed to reflect current ROM state.
Default directory layout and file locations updated to be more intuitive.
Programs organized into folders reflecting their purpose.
Removed tons of unused files and settings.
Default button for Comm Manager is now single click on the record button (I miss that they removed the button the Hermes had for this).
Voice Speed Dial removed.
Default network settings removed (this never worked for me since I have an internet plan with T-Mobile and it always tried to set up the wrong one).
.Net CF 3.5 and SqlCe 3.5 are custom to my ROM (I had heard there were problems with the packages built by others so I built my own from scratch).
A *LOT* of work was done ensuring maximum media compatibility...as mentioned before streaming (mms, rtsp) protocols work, but the full version of pages like Google videos, YouTube, etc also should work.
As mentioned already there is no TouchFlo Cube, HTC Home, etc.
SQM (MS spyware) has been removed.
ClearStorage was removed (this can be accomplished via the soft buttons+reset anyway).
Sliding keyboard sounds removed (this was annoying anyway).
Lots of useless default images and templates removed.
Games removed (there are cabs for them anyway, and I personally never used them).
Windows Media player has a skin in theme with the rest of the device.
The default calculator has been removed (there are much better ones available out there--check out HP48 emu or 1-Calc).
IA Zip removed (there is the Office Mobile zip viewer, or better zip apps out there...Spb, Resco, etc).
Windows Live removed.
HTC Audio plugin added for use with WMP (works when device turned off as well).
All ringtones except one removed (feel free to set your own--this is how it should be anyway).
BT FTP removed (this is the Bluetooth FTP server/explorer which imho is quite useless).
Again I'll mention TONS of registry tweaks to make the default behavior of the device more intuitive.
Page file size set to 12MB by default.
While I'm sure this list is by no means complete it will hopefully give you a better idea of what's in/not in it. Cheers,
Great job on the rom. Work perfect for me even after i loaded all my apps.
Tilt User
So how is the stability and speed of this? GPS / Internet sharing works fine? Thats what I use most of.
hello, Could you please tell me how to add or post a PTT rom I tried all the hacks i could find to make it work and it will not thanks. wc3sam

Two very important things for me as well, from my perspective it meets both of these criteria. FYI I forgot to mention there's an app called Visual GPS available under Programs\System that is preconfigured to work on the Kaiser...if you haven't heard of/used it before it will help acquire sats faster.
What you do is:
1) Make sure QuickGPS has current data (by default I've configured it to automatically get this so it should).
2) Run Visual GPS to acquire satellite lock.
3) Launch Google Maps or TomTom.
The reasoning is that Visual GPS can acquire a satellite lock faster than either of these applications, but even a cold acquisition (no QuickGPS/VisualGPS) is sub 30 seconds for me so maybe it doesn't matter.
Cheers
Congratulations, mate... great work here
Hi,
This is probably a no, (and i've searched for this already btw but not found anything), but....
Is it possible to launch a different application other than the touch cube when you slide your thumb up the screen ?
thanks in advance
Matt
Yes it is, but not with the normal TouchFlo. Search for FTouchFlo, it does basically the same, but you can assign any command to each direction of sliding your finger over the screen.
That means four different possibilities.
Don't know if this helps, but you can try this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1971424
Note that VJBrisk is basically just a tiny app I made to allow you to replace one executable (eg BioTouch.exe), with VJBrisk, and VJBrisk will allow you to launch a shortcut with parameters.
You may well not need to do that step, depending on your needs. The thread above explains this much better than my mumblings.
V
cheers chaps, will take a look at these.
I had hoped it was as simple as a registry change but guess not
thanks
Matt
Use UltimateLauncher, and get rid of TouchFLO Cube. It also lets you assign functions to run any .EXE or .LNK to swipes in all 4 directions. That's what I did. But I only use Up and Down. Up to get open my contacts and down to invoke the S2U2 screen lock.
I've decided to go with vjbrisk which is working very well at the moment.
however, even with show all files I am unable to fine either LaunchStartupApp.lst or Launchstartupapp in the windows file. Am using a polaris (o2 orbit 2)...any ideas where I can find this or if it's called anything else.
It's not the end of the world, would just be useful to free up 5mb or so.
cheers
Matt
I use my PDA mainly to effectively stay organized and want to execute the most commands with the hardware keyboard. The Hermes (TyTN) was great for that purpose but I wanted something faster and had better camera and so on, so I bought Raphael.
The Raphael is great in many ways but it has slowed down my organizing and irritated me and I´m wondering if I can do something about it, see things differently, or if you have suggestions for recomending something else, like Kaiser or Xperia?
More specifically...
-The input method with auto suggestion seems crappy (see separate thread)
-The soft keys above the keyboard are gone
-It actually takes longer time to open Word-documents (than with Hermes) - it takes 15-25 seconds for a 50kB doc (!)
-The screen is not placed in the middle
Lot´s of complaints , but I am looking for a solution here, so please enlighten me
/Dan
Hardware shortcuts.
PQzII for hardware shortcuts. Have you changed from the default ROM this may speed up word.

Does PQxII work even for the soft keys - menu and...?
Are the ROM:s available here language-specifik, or can I use any one of them? (I have a Swedish model.)
And thanks
I use Magicall since my old HTC TyTN days for call filtering, and it is an excellent piece of software.
The problem is that on Diamond (and a couple of other TF3D devices that I checked, for that matter), the Today plug-in where you can see whether Magicall is running (and its status), does not show up. Is there any way to make the MagiCall icon appear in Today screen?
No because TF3D mask everything since it runs on top. Unless you disable TF3D and use only the default style Today plugin, then can you see those icons.
Infact on WM6.5, the Titanium plugin also functions the same. Because it runs on top, you will not see those 'tray' icons.
Disabling TF3D is not such a bad idea though
Well, I am used to TF3D, and I don't want to miss its functionality... I guess the Magicall icon will have to sacrificed...
Magical used to have a very good forum with good technical help. Ask in the Magical forum what solution they have for TF3D integration.
I have used Magical and found it very useful for international calling card selection. Once the rules were set and Magical was set to run when phone was on I never had a need to check the status.
Maybe your problem is that you can't be sure when Magical is on. In which case solve that issue (to make it always on) rather than an indicator button.
This is from the Magicall web site (Mobiion)

Re: does it works on newer ROM images ? ex: wm6.1 or wm6.5 ?

WM6.1 -- Yes
WM6.5 -- Should be working, not tested
Manila -- Not compatible
So it is not compatible. Before giving up use the XDA Manila Today Page mod to add the today page into TF3D. Run Magicall on our Today page. The above comment will refer to Magicall only not being compatible with standard TF3D (Manila). I am using the Today page mod but not with Magicall. Check it this mod before giving up. It is very useful anyway (I am running SPB Diary in TF3D as a Today Plug-in)
I hadn't heard about this XDA Manila Today Page mod before... Does it work smoothly with our TD2? Doesn't it require an extra memory load? I wouldn't want to sacrifice memory or stability of my device, for the sake of the Magicall Today icon...
I have not had a problem with it from the day I have used it.
Read about it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508102\
Additional memory is minimal. TF3D itself is the memory hog (but the D2 has lots)
OK, then!
One last question: Speaking of memory footprints, does MagiCall itself put a heavy load in the device RAM? I am running it only on some occasions, but if it does not affect the TD2 performance, then I could have it auto-load with the device (and in that case, the Today icon showing the app's state would indeed become rather unimportant).
Magicall puts very little load on the device. I used to use it on my D810 with only 64MB RAM base (about 6MB spare). The D2 has something like 288MB base.
Unused RAM does not make your device any better. It is there to be used. If you have 200MB free then you should have purchased a Nokia
I have recently seen alot of ROMS for WM6.5 and they all look the same from the screenshots.... ugly!
I mean what is with all the HUGE text listed down the screen, am I the only one who thinks this is a stupid setup? What happened to the Start Menu and clean today setup?
Are people just updating to WM6.5 just 'cos its 6.5, or do you actually like the look of it? Please give your opinions on WM6.5, and more importantly what is the difference between WM6?
I am using WM6.1 on 2 of my devices as I like the Today Screen feel and the way everything is set out. I am contemplating putting 6.5 on a device just to test it out, is it really worth it? is it customizable to make the home screen not just BIG words down the screen? maybe a clock even lol.
thanks everyone for your opinions.
i think it looks great.
As long as you have good apps installed to cover nasty WM UI no matter if you have 6.1 or 6.5
I personally do not like the honeycomb, but I do like that the hole UI is more finger friendly
Let´s see the WM7!! hope they really impress us
I like it because its 6.5 that .4 of more awesome 1337ness!!!! lol.. I actually just like the better slightly larger menu buttons. the new start menu is neither here nor there for me.. I don't like titanium, it has potential, but till you can have more than one link on click per panel it is pretty lame to me.. seems to take more effort to get to my necessary apps with it than without it.. I have been using wad2 on my last few flashes. My device is i910 Omnia, with the BlazingWolf 7.1 rom.
On my observation, the main advantages of WM6.5 over WM6.1 are:
RAM Managemenet: In WM6.5 I never need to run the apps to clear RAM. Any time I quit a program, the RAM will be released imediately.
Power Consumption Controll: The battery life is noticably enlonged copare using WM6.1, on same load.
Connectivity: One example is on WM6.1 any time I'm using Internet Sharing I need to manually switch phone band to WCDMA to ensure stable fast data connection. And if I forget to switch it back to GSM or Auto after finished the Internet Sharing, phone calls on 3G mode will drain the battery very fast. But on WM6.5, I noticed that I don't need to switch phone band again, just leave it as Auto. The OS is so smart that it knows what time to switch to what band. Example, when I use internet sharing, it will stay at 3G for most of the time. When I make or receive a phone call, it will switch to GSM immediately after the phone connected.
Finger Touch Experience For this I don't explain more, it's just much more comfortable on finger/stylus responds.
Third Party Apps Interface: Well I'm not a developer, but from the changes on some registry structure, I can definitely tell that WM65 will be more friendly to third party application developers.
These are very core elements of a mobile os. The progress of wm65 on these points is obviously noticable.
But because the change of the core. It causes a big problem on legacy apps compatibility. People find that a lot of apps running well on wm6 just can never run on wm65.
But I think currently both Microsoft and third party software vendors are working tight on this issue. At least for most part of popular softwares, we can find a wm65 compatible version now. But for some speciall software, we can not find it if the developer did not upgrade it.
For sure, there are certain advantages of using 6.5 over 6.1. (The advantage is not only 'skin' things that you can see it, more important is on the 'core'.)
Hence your choice just depend on what softwares you're using. If for all your 'must-have' softwares you can find a WM6.5 compatible version or its replacement, why not use WM6.5.
Edit: I don't like the Titanium & the headache to customize it either. I just disabled it & leave an 'empty today', but with HButton, I can reach all frequently used apps within one single touch.
The RAM used by Titanium is 3.5MB+, compares to HTC Home @1.5MB+, & M2D @ 7MB+.
I like the looking of Honeucomb,(for showup only), but I also use QuickMenu, which is more functional.
Must to say that above experience are from the single ROM I've used only, maybe there are performance variaties on different ROMs & devices.
And at last, one of my most favarite part is the new PIE, it definitely can display whatever a desktop ie does except only one tab allowed.
I like 6.5. I find it runs pretty well on the kaiser, and I prefer its look to the old Windows 3.x interface found in the older versions. Plus, the finger scrolling is superb. And if you don't like the honeycomb, there are other start menu layouts, one example here. WM6.5 is just a band-aid to hold us over until WM7, but it's still a step in the right direction for Microsoft.
Dave
Yes, I think i will be waiting for wm7, but i just can't help myself any longer and I am going to take the plunge to wm6.5 on my Elfin or Wizard just to give it a go, I think it should run well on the elin with the RAM it has and without really checking out the custmizations, my assumptions is basically on the interface on standard screenshots i have seen.
thanks for the input guys, only a flash will i be able to add further opinions, as i am a heaver modder, and would need this to offer proper insight into the OS.
I've bounced back and forth between a couple 6.1 and 6.5 ROMs. I use TouchFLo because I hate 6.1's today screen and Titanium is pretty bland. I think that the current touchflo manila 2.1 is about the best you can get for WM6.1 currently, but I don't think manila 2.1 is streamlined for WM6.5. I feel like I'm taking a step back in integration and fluidness when I use Touchflo 2.1 and WM6.5. Not much, but it just seems off. This leads me to think that the new manila 2.5 is HTC's update to bring that integration and fluidness to WM6.5. The specualtion is that manila 2.5 is going to be for the new Firestone. While that is probably true, HTC has also mentioned that the new Topaz and Rhodium will get WM 6.5 upgrades. I would like to assume that this upgrade will also include manila 2.5 because if I feel that WM6.5 and TouchFlo 2.1 is lacking a complete feel then I would take that HTC has also noticed this. Yeah, I'm rambling I know. Just my thoughts. Bottom line on WM6.5 is that it seems like Microsoft just made a piss poor attempt at skinning there relic OS. That just pertains to the aesthetics though. I know there were unseen changes that do have their benefits.
(Sorry for all the "I feel and I would assumes", just ponderings)
