GPS BT problem, please help!

I am hoping someone can help me through this Smile
I have both TomTom and iguidance on my PPC and both are doing the same thing.
Here are my steps
1) Pair up the device properly, and set an outgoing port to COM8
2) GPS in Control pannel, program set to none, hardware com8, 4800, last page, manage automatically unchecked
3) run program and configure, works fine
4) turn off BT gps, turn back on, run program
5) MS BT application pops up saying my BT GPS receiver wants to connect, should I add it to the list, if I say yes and put in the pass key, nothing will happen, and if I go back into my BT manager, the GPS is gone.
Please help!

Keep Wifi active during Standby

Hello everyone,
is there a tweak to keep the wifi connection active when I turn off the phone into standby mode?
I need this because I am using the program Mobiola Webcam via Wifi and I dont want the display on while I am streaming the video to my pc.
On my Omnia there was a Option for that. But I cant find this setting on the HTC touch Pro.
Thank you.
theres no setting but i wish there was.
I think Schap's Advanced Configuration Tool has a setting for this, or you can alter the appropriate setting in the registry.
Try here, for more info. http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-401130.html
If not search, the info you need is definitely here somewhere....
yes advance config and diamond tweak have the options and i use then it works great. I dont think advance config settings really work because when i enabled the option to have my wifi on during standby it did not work but then i changed the settings in diamond tweak and it worked perfectly.

[REQ] Tasker Bluetooth profile?

Hey guys, trying to wrap my head around Tasker. Bought it a while back but got scared off by it
I currently use Greenpower Premium to manage my bluetooth connection, but it's such a bulky way to do it considering I don't use any of the "battery saving" features.
What I would like is
a) Bluetooth to turn on when connected to a power source
b) Bluetooth to disconnect after 5 minutes if NOT connected to a device.
The only caveat of point B is point A takes priority, so even if not connected to a device, but connected to a power source, bluetooth stays on. It's for use in my car.
Any help for a Tasker noob? Cheers :highfive:

your A is very easy to do (as evidenced by a novice like me messing around with it until it worked), you'll just have to go into each setting for the basic profile.
B, no clue... i've never tried it, but i can't think of a reason it'd be that difficult.
If this is all you want Tasker to do try out an app called Bluetooth Auto Connect. Your Profile A should really be easy to program(porofle/state/power/any:taskaction/net/bluetooth on) while your Profile B there is actually a profile you can download from the Tasker site then import into Tasker. It's set at 15 minutes but you can change it.
Here is the way I interpreted
A) make profile under state>power>power(any or ac). The make a task setting Bluetooth on under "net." Go back to profiles and press and hold the new task you made and select add exit task. You can put set Bluetooth off when it disconnected from power source.
B) state>net>Bluetooth connected. Task set Bluetooth on or whatever, then add an exit task under task>wait>5 min then set Bluetooth off. Unlink the start task with the green arrow cause unless you want a notification saying whatever when connected, I don't see any use for an enter task.

Thanks I'm going to do that :highfive:

[Q] Automatically turn on BT tethering?

Hi all.
I have just bought a new TomTom, which requires bluetooth tethering to be on so it can connect to the internet through the phone.
However whenever BT is turned on tethering is not automatically switched on as well, and it is a pain to have to go into the settings menu every time I get into my car.
Is there a way to automatically enable tethering when BT pairs with a certain device?
I am currently use profile scheduler to manage my profiles which on the whole is ace but unfortunately this cannot deal with tethering. As I currently have all my profiles setup on PS I would prefer not to need to use Tasker if possible.
Any help most appreciated
Adam

[Q] Bluetooth not automatically connecting?

I just switched from a S5 to a S6. One of my favorite things about the S5 was that I had Tasker set up to perform many actions when the phone connected to my car's Bluetooth. Unfortunately, the S6 is not connecting automatically like my S5 did.
It seems like I have to manually open the Bluetooth settings for the connection and manually turn on both Media and Calls... every time I start the car. While searching the internet for a solution, I found an app called Bluetooth Auto Connect. I installed it and turned a bunch of settings on, and I think it might be helping. It seems that I can turn Bluetooth off and then on again on the S6 and then it will connect to the car (2013 Subaru Crosstrek). However, it really bothers me that this is kind of a downgrade where I have lost functionality.
I just realized that I have so many workarounds:
*Force landscape mode = must have 3rd party app Rotation Locker
*Try to prevent music from auto-playing when connected to Bluetooth = must have 3rd party app Media Button Router (and still works inconsistently)
*Try to force screen always on = must have 3rd party app Secure Settings
that list could go on...
Is it possible to fix this completely, so my S6 will fully-connect to the Crosstrek's Bluetooth automatically?
Edit:
This thread seems to be about the same thing, but I don't a see a solution:

The Bluetooth Auto Connect FAQ sounds like it's a Samsung problem.
I started having the same issue with my motox after the 5.1 update. Prior it auto connected every time.
