Ive had the same problem i have been having to load files via a card reader then moving the files of the micr sd once installed

I have some files on my 4GB mem card in my kaiser and I want to copy them off. The problem is the only files that seem to copy are mp3's. None of my photos, or other files copy at all.
I tried to remove the mem card and put it in my card reader but it asks me to format it first.
Is there a file sharing plugin/software I can install on my kaiser to make it easier to copy files from-to my Kaiser?
P.S. yes, i turned off the convert settings..
u tried WM5 storage? might not work but worth a try.
tried the wm5torage program. It seems to work on WM6 but again, I was nailed by the NEED TO FORMAT error similarly to when I put the mem card in my reader.
I downloaded a free PPC FTP client and am currently FTPing files to my desktop.
what a pain
Hi this is my very first post here on xda developers forum,
I have bought a qtek s200 recently and when i wanted to upgrade to wm6.1, i saw after a while that my sd card starts to disappear.I have tried shadow 2 and korand 3.1 wm6.1 roms and transformers wm6 and the result is all the same; after a while my s200 doesn't recognize the sd card.
I have searched through a lot of web site including here about the problem and now believe that the problem arises from the "omap850_sdhc.dll and sdbus.dll" files in the windows folder on the device.I came across a post like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=256655&page=11
They had the same problem with their wm5 devices and after they removed these dll files, they say that the problem has gone forever.
Yeah, i tried to remove these files from the windows folder but it says they are rom files and cannot be deleted.
So, how can i remove these files from the original nk.nbf file? Can we call this some kind of "rom cooking" ?
Or do you have any other ideas to solve this problem?
At the moment I'm using wm5 oem rom and sd card reader just works fine,no problem at all.I looked into the windows folder and realized that there were no such files. That's why (I think) no sd card reader or disappearance problem do I have.
Any help will be most appreciated.
I solved the problem with a simple registry change:
something like hklm drivers sd class :
disablepowermanegement: 1 instead of 0 and here you go, soft reset and no problem.
If you just want to remove the files, use Total Commander to change the file properties and then delete them. To remove the files by cooking, use Neokit (it's in the WM6 sub forum) and it will give a complete list of files which can easily be removed before rebuilding and reflashing the ROM.
Thank you very much.I solved the problem with the registry change. Thanks a lot.
My Touch Pro came with a 1g MicroSD card. So...I started installing stuff on it already. Programs were installed in the card either by .cab file or through windows. Now I'm thinking of buying a larger MicroSD card....do i need to reinstall everything or can I just copy everything from the old card to the new one and it would be as if I didn't change anything?
Thanks
If you copy everything (including any normally hidden system files) then you should be fine and NOT have to reinstall any of your .cab files......
.
ahh, that's good to hear
I assume, using the PC to copy it will work since the PC sees all the files right?
ok, got my 4g micro sd and used activesync to transfer all files to a temp dir and move it all to the new card. I made sure that windows explorer could see hidden files and turned off that hidden operating system bit. works great
Yep I did the same from my tiny winy 4gbB to a barely adequate 16gb.

Just a bit of advice, next time, extract the micro-SD card, put it in a microsd 2 USB adaptor.
Copy/paste all files in a temp dir on your PC.
Remove the card from adaptor, place the new one. Copy all the files back on the new card.
Copy made through a USB card reader is definitly faster than a regular activesync copy !
Hope this helps !
Hi Guys,
I also found that if I have to transfer quite a lot of data to the PC it's much faster to switch the Touch Pro to 'Disk Drive' mode instead of 'ActiveSync' mode, then it's really quick!
Good for backing up the storage card etc.
Cheers,
D.

Well, you usually backup to the storage card, right?
A small problem for a WM6 noob: having a BA with WM6 installed. On a sd card, a program was installed but I lost the sd card and replace it with a new one. On executing some programs it launches the following error:cannot execute Storage card/program files/enalarmppc/enalarmppc.exe
What I guess is that the reference for the program is still in the registry. How can I delete that?
Thanx

Hello,
I continuously get error during apps setup just after click on the cab file (downloaded directly on the pda). I tried starting setup from phone or from SD with the same result.
When is possible to download exe file I tried that and all worked well even if installing the cab file got error.
One of the app I tried is google maps downloadable from m.google.com/maps.
Any idea?
Tried also after hard reset and no improvements
it seems errors regards loading cab/exe files from SD card
If I move files to phone then I'm able to load that
any help?
Tried also different SD cards (2GB and 4GB) and FAT or FAT32 formattings.
No differences...
Found the problem? OPERA BUG???
Hey all posts are mine???
I saw that if I download googlemaps.cab file directly from opera mobile (on HD2) and save it on the SD or PDA I'm not able to install it. I get error installing file.
If I download googlemaps.cab from PC and then transfer it to SD card (through ActiveSync or as disk) install goes well.
If I download file from integrated version of Internet Explorer and save it on SD or PDA all goes well and I can install application without any problem.
Did I found a bug in OPERA MOBILE?
If no one answer this post I'll open another one with a different title.
