Hi, I purchaseed an XDA flame on www.hi-mobile.net, on july. The display of this device not worked so their replaced it with new device. Yesterday I received it. I extract it from its box, I put sim card inside, I put battery inside and I connected it to AC power. Immediately the led become blink orange. I leave it to charge for 4 hour, then I remove it from AC power, I press on/off button but it not work, the screen remain black. I reconnect to AC power and led become orange, I press on/off button and it turned on but now the led turned off. After installation procedure, I see battery icon was with pressure point. I see in the panel where is write: "Main battery: Unknow" "Battery power remaning: Unknow". The I try to turn on the phone. In the wirless manager I tap on phone icon, but nothing happen. I try to tap on Phone menu and it write on screen "The wireless radio is not present". I see in the device information panel "GSM Version: P5C2", "IMEI: 353095010051772".
I'm disappointed of this device, and I want someone help me to solve this problem. Is not possible that I buy 2 device and 2 device not work!
What do I do??
Thanks, please answer as soon as possible.

Hello
How does ont turn off the XDA EXEC, i dont see any off button. the power button just turns the screen backlight on and off.
the reason why i wanted to know what it was is because i am porting my number across networks, and 02 told me to turn off my phone a number of times during the day, so that it could go into a boot up process.
There is no real way to trurn the device off, but what they will be wanting you to do is disable the phone section (do this by turning on flight mode, or by clicking on the green connections manager in the bottom and click on the phone button. Click the phone button again to turn it on.)
Start -> Programs - Wireless Manager -> All Off (This switches of the phone.
Then use the phone on/off button at the top of the screen there, to switch it back on and force your SIM to re-register with the network, which should have the desired effect your after.
Taking out the battery is the only real 'off' button.
thanks for the replies dudes
did you try holding the power button as well? that works on my wizard
not sure if it's true for all wm5 though
i held the power down button for some time and it blanked teh screen. when i held the power button again for a few seconds the screen came back to life, but this time there is no "back light(?)"
how do i get back the "back light(?)"

There remains a bug, it seems, that sometimes prevents the backlight from firing up when starting the device.
It used to happen on my XDA2i and still happens on my Exec.
I usually have to get it in a good light and go to settings and move the brightness slider to get it working.
Turning off the device, I find, is actually achieved by pressing the power switch before closing lid.
I find I get much more out of each charge if I do this rather than just close the lid.
That of course turns of the PDA functionality of the device. The radio (phone) service is still disabled via Flight Mode.
somehow i double posted...sry
thanks for the reply
i guess by pressing the power button, the pda goes ito some sort of sleep mode, since it does not boot up later, correct?
when it is charging up using a usb cable connected to my pc, the backlight is turned of, and no amount of pressing buttons seems to turn on the backlight, is that correct?
i checked out the brightness level sliders, there are 2, the
1. on battery which is somewhere in between
2. on power which is "slided" to the left, is that its correct position?
you will probably find it will selfboot at midnight.. this appears to have been intentional in the design of all the XDA's.
Thia can be a nuisance but it is probably to do with reseting timers. alarms etc
The backlight is configured to be on/off during external power and on battery in which ever setup you choose.
The actual levels you set it at are your choice ..
I set mine to be off after 5 mins on external power i.e. when charging except when i use tomtom and want it to stay on whilst externally powered.
On these occasions I change the setting before the journey
Your original question with reference to O2 making changes that required you phone to be off, in my experience, means not having the O2 sim in the device.
thanks for the reply dude
i think my questions have exceeded the remit of this thread. i will start another thread for the backlight questions

Hi guys,
I have a problem with a friend's HTC 2125.
The phone are working fine and yesterday, i was shut down it and the simcard was removed.
Then, i try to turn on the phone and this one, launches a white screen (10-15 secondos ago).
I see this issue and try to launch the bootloader pressing the camera button and connecting the usb cable but this screen appear again. I try to launch the bootloader pressing the comm manager + camera button + power button and this screen appear again.
The white screen appear in the phone and is necesary to remove the battery because pressing the power off, this screen don't dissapear.
I try to charge the phone (this is shutdown, not in white screen) but when i insert the usb connector in the jack and the phone turn on and appear the white screen and the amber led don't turn on.
I compare these issues with my HTC 2125 and this works fine, the boot loader appear with the two combinations (3 seconds ago) and if i try to charge when the phone is off, this one turn on the amber led.
This is a hardware problem, have any solution, or the phone are wrong?
Thanks for you help!!!

Hi all,
First post here. I just bought a Samsung Infuse 4G (AT&T) from a guy off of craigslist. The guy told me the battery was bad (it was swollen), but we were able to get the phone to turn on and it appeared to be functioning normally (I was able to browse through the various menus and the app drawer).
I bought a new battery.
Note: There is NO SIM card in the phone, yet.
Note: I have tested the new battery as functioning in other devices; it is fine.
Note: I am not an AT&T customer so they won't be any help (I think).
Note: I have not yet contacted the seller for a refund.
Note: I have attempted unbricking processes via ODIN, thinking that it might be bricked, but ODIN did not detect the phone.
1) When I put the new battery in (without connected to charger), the battery throbber displays, followed by the gray battery icon (as if in charging mode), the icon then disappears.
2) When I long-press the power button to turn the phone on, the above sequence is repeated and the phone will not turn on.
3) When I plug in the charger the battery throbber displays, followed by the gray battery icon, then the icon disappears, but does not appear to be charging.
4) When I plug in the charger, it goes through sequence #3 above. I long-press the power button, then the battery throbber displays, followed by the gray battery icon, I immediately release the power button then long-press the power button again and the gray battery icon changes to GREEN. I am then able to turn on the phone as if nothing was wrong; I usually have to go through the button press process several times before I get the green battery before I can turn it on.
Note: I have noticed a very faint flashing of the soft-keys on occasion.
Note: The battery is being charged when it is connected, or so it seems.
I'm lost as to what might be the culprit. When starting it, I can enter recovery mode, I can enter download mode via battery pull method.
Thanks in advance!!
Here's the info if needed:
Model: Samsung-SGH-I997
Firmware version: 2.2.1
Base Band version: I997UCKE3
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9
Build number: FROYO.UCKE3
I have been searching this for quite sometime but could not find any method which I can implement. I have the HTC One S (T mobile) when the phone off and charger is connected the phone little LED turns on in amber color while the phone is charging when the battery is charged it's color changes to green. But it's screen always remains off, no animation at all. The only way to turn on the phone is by pressing the power button. So, if your phone's power button malfunctions there is no way you can turn on the phone (probably). That is why I am looking for some solution to turn it on either automatically or by some commands through computer without touching the power button.
If anyone has any clue please let me know. Thanks
