PDA don't sync to pc the mail received via gprs - General Topics

Hi!
I use my Magician to send/receive mails via gprs.
The problem is:
the mail sent (via gprs) are stored in the pda's "sent item" under the folder named as my configured account on ppc; the "incoming e-mail" downloaded via gprs are stored under in the way
but active sync (4.2+outlook2003) syncronize only the e-mails that are stored in the folder named "outlook e-mail" on ppc, removing mails stored in "my_account->incoming e-mails" but keeping the sent items
so on my PC-outlook2003 I can never found the mails sent using my pda.
How can I fix this problem?
By the way there is a possibility to tell active sync to keep either in pda and in pc the object (task, appointment, ecc) more recent?
Thanks!
Best regards,

up!
I've changed the title.
The old one was not so clear... I hope someone read this post!

imap sent mail not saved

is this a general problem? i've read the MS article on it, and have done "manage folders...ticked box by sent items" etc, but it still doesn't save the contents in the sent items folder.
anyone got the same problems or seen a fix?
ric
workaround!
The trick or workaround I have discovered is to set up a new mail rule in outlook:
Tools->Rules & alerts->New rule->Start from blank rule->check messages after sending. Now select "through the specified account" and select your imap account. Now select "move a copy to the specified folder" and select your imap sent items folder.
This works but you still have a copy in your old sent items in your personal folder.
HTH, Shaun
I don't have rules and alerts on my tools menu
IMAP sent mails should be saved by the server. If you are using a compatible server, then, it will work. See my IMAP Bible at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1247&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 for more info.
@100thMonkey sorry, you have got to do this in outlook on the pc. If sending email from PPC then it will be sent using your operators smtp server. Using the above workaround you can still view sent emails from your pc on your ppc.

PushMail client

I have Qtek9000 with the latest JW ROM. I use the Outlook Mobile exchange PushMail. It works well, but I am wondering if there is any better PushMail client that I can use instead of Outlook? Now, I cannot receive Today notification if I recieve an e-mail which is filtered by Ruls to another than Inbox folder... I cannot open several e-mails simulteniously, there is no way to ask Read/Delivery confirmation, no way to change the current view of the Inbox and other e-mail forlder, .. the Sent items are sorted by "From" (i.e. my e-mail), not "to".. etc.
hhmm.. I am still trying to find any Push Mail client, but no success.... any ideas?

I will try it.. but as i read, it use activesync acount (there is no way to set up separate exchange server)... and in order to use it, I must keep both - default outlook mail and Flexmail, which is not so good).
If it is possible JW to make some changes in the Outlook Mail in order to be able to sort the e-mails by "TO" (there is only an option to sort them by "FROM"). I need it when looking at "Sent" items
I just mentioned this article: http://blogs.msdn.com/outlook_mobile/archive/2007/03/13/wm6-messaging.aspx and found the Outlook in JW ROM is a littje bit diferrent from the shown pictures! On my device I cannot find the menu for Exchange server searching... If the Outlook in JW ROM is the latest WM Outlook version?
Exchange Sync - strange problem!
Hi, I use PushMail on my PPC (Qyek9000, WM6) to sync with our company
Exchange Server 2003SP2. It worked fine till 01st May 2007, when I suddently
stopped recieving any e-mails/contacts/tasks from Exchange server to my PPC!
It is still connected, it found and synchronizes the Folder list (only), it
count the number of e-mails inside the inbox, but DOES NOT retrieve ANY
e-mails/contacts. It just shows me "0 items". At the same time, I can send
e-mails and if I change something on my PPC (ex.new Task/contact) it
synchronized on the Server and I can see it on my desktop Outlook.... The IT
guys checked the server, but nothing found! I have deleted and reinstalled my
PPC exchange mail settings, but the same problem. Please any idea how to
solve it. Thanks!
You can actually set your pushmail exchange email account to sync outside of your inbox:
On your device:
Goto Messaging
Outlook Email
Menu
Tools
Manage Folders
You'll see a folder browser.
Inbox is default synced
You can now enable more folders for synchronization (for example your sent items)
This way you can sync your inbox and a couple of your selection of folders for specific people

I can and I did it! But the problem is that I still not recieve any e-mails on my PPC. In fact, it synchronize one-way - from PPC-to Exchange server, but not vice versa! I can see the folder list, but it does not "send/push" amy e-mails... Last week it worked normally!
The IT guy
Mine is working great (I am the IT guy), Make sure that you have the correct certificate on your PDA, or ask you IT guy to give you the certificate and reinstall it.
Then make sure to try your account with and without SSL.
Good luck, let me know…

The certificate is fine but the problem stil. I tried another PPC - Nokia, with Symbian, but the same problem. The result is that I can synchronize ONEWAY only - from PPC to Exchange, but not vise versa (from Exchnage to PPC). The IT department guys cannot find any reason and do not know what to do. I suggest tham to restrat/reset the exchange server... but still waiting
Problem Solved
The problem is solved! The reason for the problem was the Exchange Server's antivirus software (McAfee). We had to switch the mail scanning from "on demant" to "background scanning". Now it works
Sound complicated.
I am using live.mail2web.com and receiving mail at Outlook and is ok. Just need to set the exchange address, thats all.

As far as I know, if you are using POP3 it will not be possible to upload your sent messages to the server because POP3 is not a sync based protocol like IMAP.
There are a few things you need to do first to enable your sent messages to be synced with your desktop outlook.
1) Talk to your service provider and see if you can get IMAP access to your Inbox
2) If you are given access to your email via IMAP, then you need to ensure that the Sent Folder on the server is in the root of the account and not under Inbox.
Basically the folder structure on your server should like this
Root
|
|_>Inbox
|
|_>Sent Items
|
|_>Deleted Items
and not like this
ROOT
|
|__>INBOX__>Sent Items
Once you have ensured this, all you need to do is enter the correct settings in your PPC and select which folders you want to sync and voila it's done.
You can set you desktop Outlook to delete the messages on the server once it has completed downloading them to your harddrive. That way you won't be wasting space on the server.
Hope that helps.
If you are having trouble with setting up the sync between the server folders and your PPC becuase of the folder hierarchy on the server, then I suggest you use FlexMail 2007. It allows you to set any folder to be the Sent Items folder irrespective the of the hierarchy.
one more try...
aren't the mails saved anywhere on the phone, so that I could copy/import them to my Outlook?!

How to synchronizing & send/receive msg from WM together?

Hello
Firstly, sorry for my english, it's not good, but I think you understand me.
PC: Outlook 2007, 1 mail account.
Pocket (Raphael, doesn't matter now) with WM6.1 and standard mail program from MS.
And now, I can do 2 things:
1. Synchronize mails from Outlook on my PC to WM device via WMDC (Vista).
Effect? I have all mails from PC in my phone, but I can't send/receive mails directly from mail program in WM.
2. I configured email account on my phone, I can send and receive mails, but I can't synchronize its with my Outlook on PC.
Both situactions don't answer me, I want to do all operations together.
Can I do this in WM?
Maybe another, alternative software can do?
If my "problem" is solved here, sorry for that and please copy here link to proper thread.
I will be thankful.
sorry for short answer, but im quite busy.
Do not sync mails via activesync
Set both your computer and phe pda to fetch your mails through IMAP4 not POP3.
You have to delete and recreate the acount in outlook ...
but then, you select the mail as read in PC, it gets marked as read in next synchronization on the pda and vice versa. same with deleting. And if you send the mail from pda, it gets to send items on PC.
hope it helps
Wow, thanks. That is it! Ingredible and... simple Works perfect to me.
Thank You once again!

Outlook email without activesync?

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I was wondering if it was possible for a private individual to send emails while out and about using "Outlook Mail" in WinMo (currently 6.5).
In other words, what I did was tie a gmail account to Outlook on the pc, then using activesync to get it on the ppc. Thing is, if I try to compose an email on my ppc using that account it just sits in the outbox until I get back to my computer and use activesync.
What I'm trying to do is easily be able to send out vCalendar/ vCard etc from my phone and/or not have an "empty" Outlook email option under messages. I've already tied my school's email and Yahoo email to the phone.
