Cingular 8525 HTC TyTn Bluetooth -> Range Rover - General Topics

Hi,
I have a 8525 HTC TyTn pda phone and having so many isssues pairing it with my 2007 Land Rover Range Rover sport. I turn on the bluetooth in the 8525 and then start the car 70% of the time the car says no phone attached. Its not the car problem cause I have tried it with 5-7 other landrover/rangerovers at the dealer.
If I reset the phone multiple times then finally it pairs with the car and works fine...I don't have the problem of getting disconnected once it has been connected like some other users I have seen the post.
Is there a firmware or software I can drop on the 8525 in order tro enhance / fix the blue tooth issue?
Please help all my work emails is on my 8525 and can't afford loosing the phone as no other phone has all features of the 8525...
please help
Thanks

My AT&T Tilt works with my 2007 Range Rover Sport perfectly, the only problem I am having is syncing the contacts onto my Range Rover. Are you able to sync your contact onto your Range Rover when it pair up?

Problems with Plantronics M3000 and QTEK 2020

I have bought a Plantronics M3000 bluetooth headset for my QTEK 2020. I have no problems pairing, calling and answering. However the headset just shuts off after a few minutes of conversation. It doesn't just cut the conversation but shuts off. I can make multiple short calls but nothing longer than 3/4 minutes. It works, however, without problems on my wife's Ericsson T68. Anyone can help ? Thanks.
Marek
Hello,
I have the MDA2 (same as QTek2020) and a Plantronics M3000 and It's been working just fine.
The problem you describe it's very weird since you mentioned that the headset works fine with your wife's mobile, and that makes me think that your QTek has some sort of problem with the Bluetooth stack or hardware.
It may be well worth to try (if possible) another headset just to make sure that is not the M3000 fault.
Do you see any type of error or message on the screen at the time of disconnection?
Does it always cut the conversation at the exact same moment?
Does the problem match the time the QTek takes to power save?
Any other clues?
Thanks.
I did not have the occasion to test another BT headset on the Qtek. When it shuts down there isn't any message displayed.
I have no problems with the BT stack (with the Pocket Bluetooth Tools patch) when using it with a BT GPS (Emtac) receiver, it works for hours.
However, your suggestion that it might happen when the Qtek goes in energy saving mode is interesting. I will check that tomorrow.
I'll post the result.
Hi
I seem to have a similar poblem after installing pocket bluetooth tools!.
I use a Jabra BT 250..and I noticed that the headset just mutes during the call..
I am generally used to switching off the display of the XDA after placing the call to power save ...
So I discovered that the headset would mute whenever i switch off the xda after making the call (which it never did prior to installing PBT)!
any thoughts on that?
maybe it has to do with the auto switch off plugin?
Actually I just experienced that too...
If I place (or answer a call) the next time I try to use the phone via the BT headset I notice the BT headset was turned off... Yeah, it could be related to the Powersave feature on the today plugin that PBT installs as a plugin...
Need to investigate...
Best regards,
Rayan
Both my bt headsets have stopped working since installing pocket bluetooth tools latest version, I have reverted back to version 1005 and everything is fine. I have a sony-ericsson EBH-65 and a skypower clip on headset.
my platronics does the same also its annoying you cant even transfer the call back to the device you have to hand up turn off bt and then turn it abck on and headset mode back on it also does the same on my pc
when im on msn using it as a headset it just d/c and i have to turn it off and turn it back on again
dont see what the problem is
btw the range on the xda2 and platronics is amazing i had it on my bedrooms desk and i went outside it passed through the living room wall and the patio window and i was stood 5m down my garden im sure it would of been over 10m and it was still working if i kept still when i moved it went crackly but ah well lol
just hope someone sorts the prob out
Hi,
I was having the same problem with the M3000. I just had confirmation from Plantronics that this problem is a bug in the product that occurs with the XDA II. I am currently in the process of returning the product.
Regards...Mike
Same problem M3000 doesn't work. Give up now before too much frustration makes you feel ill.
Try the Hello 2 headset. Work with my Aussie XDA2 and is very small and lightweight. Even had a neck chain to carry it around like a USB drive.

Issue with BT Stack in 750v solved with Cingy 750

Had a friend that has a BMW with a great BT car system. The Treo 750v would pair but the phone book wouldn't load. Tried several different fixes.
Then I tried my Treo 750v that I flashed with the Cingy ROM. Bingo, worked like a charm. I flashed my friends device and Bingo, worked like a charm.
Did this also solve the issue where bluetooth transfers didn't like to work when the device was "off"
Not Sure
I'm not sure I understand the issue. Let me know and I'll check with the owner.
And find out if the connection last for a long period without dropout.
People have found that after a while the connection drops out. And only the speed dials transfer.
I have found that with the standard vodafone ROM I can not transfer files via bluetooth unless I have turned the device on (i.e. the screen is turned on). If the screen is turned off I get a transfer error. My bluetooth car stereo will also not connect with the device unless I have the screen active. (my old SE and Nokia phones would automatically connect while still in my pocket)
Cingular Treo 750 bluetooth doesn't disconnect mid-call
At least in the first day's usage with a Pioneer in-dash navigation-bluetooth kit, the Treo 750 maintained the bluetooth connection through multiple calls lasting more than 10-mins.
This is a big sigh of relief (hopefully will stay that way) - I had previously tried the Cingular 8525 (Hermes) and that had painfully frustrating mid-call disconnect issues. Read my response in avic411.com below:

treo and mercedes

I can not get my treo to sync with bluetooth on the mercedes s550. Any help?
Check your car's head unit manual or ask your car dealer if the treo is compatible.
I have found the the Treo has trouble connecting to bluetooth devices while it's in its screen off state or has the key lock on. Try powering it on when you get into your car to see if that makes a difference.
The speed dials are a pain as mine in my audi or wifes bmw picks up the speed dials. But nothing else, however can recieve all calls.

S710 (vox) bluetooth carkit probs

I received my shiny new S710 today (replacing my imate sp5) i am having terrible problems with bluetooth and my car kit (Parrot Ck3100 with latest sortware) The phone connects and syncs ok but disconnects after a few mins and refuses to connect again.
I have an old motorola h605 headset that shows similar problems of not connecting or dropping the connection.
The Ck3100 kit has worked faultlessly with my imate sp5 for the last year.
Has anyone else had any problems with headsets or car kits?!
I have done a hard reset on the S710 and have nothing installed, and also disconnected the power to the CK3100 for 1/2 an hour before attempting to re setup the pairing

Nokia CK7W
On a similar note, while my Vodafone V1415 works with my Nokia CK7W, I cannot end a call by pressing the button. Last number redial (two presses) and Hold or something like it (press and hold) are OK. To be fair, the CK7W is a little dated, but has proven to be fine with both Blue Angel and Hermes.
On the plus side the audio is good, without any echo for the remote caller.
Nokia CK-7W and S710
As with the Qtek 9100, the S710 seems not to operate soomthly with the NOKIA carkit CK-7w. I have to turn volume up to 100% and the sound from the speaker is still rather quite. The person i am calling is complaining that the line is not perfect. So for me it is back to the standard corded earpiece.
So any tips using the CK-7W and vox succesfully together are welcome!
@mcroonen
It's strange that I don't have the same experience as you. What version is your software? Compare with mine in my signature. I'm afraid I can't offer any suggestions, it seems to be pot luck! Maybe we find some variations in the radio stacks that will sort this out.
further to this i managed to borrow a e650 (vox) from work and it worked 100% with my car kit and tomtom and laptop!
I spoke to htc who said they had tested with the parrot ck3100 and said it worked 100%, as my phone was struggling to be detected by several devices and also struggling to detect other things that they recomended getting it replaced.
Spoke to handtech who said they would replace asap

OS: 5.2.1235 (Build 17740.0.2.0)
ROM: 1.15.405.2
Radio: 4.1.12.37_02.83.90
I had problems whith the sound quality and people not hearing me well.
For me it helped to delete the registry settings for the nokia ck-7w
It's under software/htc not sure if it was in LM or CU. I think LM.
Good luck
Had the same problem. Qtek8310 was working fine, S710 not. After a reset of the Parrot also the S710 is working fine.

Unfortenately deleting the settings introduces echo and noise (voice sounds like robot). I think S710 and Nokis Ck-7w are not made for eachother.
I will try using the Parrot 3100 as on alternative BT solution..
Parrot CK3300 GPS CAR KIT
I have the Parrot CK3300 GPS CAR KIT and no problems at all with my S710, works a dream
Parrot
Hi,
You should visit http://www.parrot.com/uk/support/downloads
and get the latest software for your Parrot. You will need a bluetooth enabled laptop or to get your bluetooth enabled PC near your car!
Flash your parrot, then connect choosing a windows CE device. It will fully sync your phonebook too.
I use the Orange E650 and connect to my Holux GPS receiver and Parrot 3100 at the same time with no problems at all.

RAPH with Parrot NK6100

I have the Raphael paired with my Parrot MK6100 car kit.
As soon as the Parrot starts to sync the contacts - it freezes for 10-20 seconds, then operates VERY slowly. After 1 hour of driving, the contacts are not synced...
The same Parrot is paired with a Kaiser and with a Diamond - no problems at all.
On the RAPH - all original shipped ROM (see my signature).
I tried all 4 radios which are available here - but with no change.
Parrot says that they will have a new firmware (1.04) released "soon" which will support all of the HTC models "in a much better way".
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Hey, i'm running in the same probleme here, yet after an houre of syncing the phone book is not accesable. Thanks for the lead though on updating the Parrot software. PS Mine is a Parrot CK3100
UPDATE: After wasting 3 hours of my life setting up the bluetooth connection (crapy dongle ) i finally got it. Updating with the parrot software works like a charme and fast.
Once i got past the connecting problems, all my problems were solved.
PS *bump*
