This is a Known Issue. Probably fixed in a future ROM Update

Hi,
I have flashed with Dutty's Official WM6.1 ROM and now it's working fine except sound.
When I receive call only vibrate and the applications are also silent.
Where can be a problem?

You need to flash a new radio, try one of the versions in the first page of the Dutty's ROM Port. Or read the sticky on this forum. There is a radio help link in there.
For the life of me, I can not figure out why my phone (when set to vibrate and ring) only vibrates when receiving a call. I've tried it at the "normal" sound setting and at "automatic" and when calling from my landline, it still just vibrates w/ no ringtone. When going into HTC Home 2.1, i check the ringtone and it plays. Any help on the matter? or a good explanation of what the "automatic" sound setting truly does? I feel like an idiot...
ps I'm using OEM status as far as my rom goes. I've only added HTC Home and the Kaiser Tweak.
Thanks Dave, now it is OK!
I like to have my phone ring and vibrate, but randomly, the phone will change back to simply ringing. Any idea how to keep this ring type to vibrate and ring as default?
Same happens to me!
Same thing happens to me also!!!
And this phone has other bugs also....nice phone but comeon HTC...do some valid testing on it...
It's not random, but it is a glitch. When you use the volume control and go to silent or vibrate only and then change back, it changes the ring type. I have another thread going on this topic and someone else said they talked to HTC and it is a bug they were able to reproduce and will fix it in some future software upgrade, what ever that means.
it will also reset to ring only upon soft reset
I found a fix for this @ ppcgeeks. Install the ring and vib fix.cab. My TP2 now keeps its vibrate setting.

Yesterday my phone updated to 1.47.401.4. Now I'm unable to change the SMS notification sound :-(. I can select other sounds, but I has no effect. Changing the volume in settings plays the right sound, but where the SMS arrives the sound is still some default sound I have not choosen.

Have you tried rebooting the device and re-trying?
Next suggestion is to take a full backup (assuming that you're rooted and s-off) and then perform a full reset and test again
Then restore to backup.
I have tried rebooting. Didn't work.
I'm not rooted. It's a company phone, so I'm not going to root it. :-(
same problem her stuck on one tone can choose other tone but keeps the same tone

I think your trying to reset the tone globally and the SMS or Email is set to local. Open SMS for instance so that you have the list of messages from everybody not just one contact, press menu-settings and change it from there.

HI!
I own a Nokia 3 Ta1032. I noticed recently that my phone won't change the notifications volume when I move any of the alarm media or ring volume sliders. The Viber, Massenger etc. Notifications just stay the same loudness. I contacted Nokia support through the support apk. But no help from them.
Does anyone else experience this problem?
I have the exact same problem..
If, Anyone else is having this problem, PLEASE write here. I contacted Nokia via Mail, I want to send them a link if we have some more confirms.
I just got a reply from Nokia, saying that basically that is how Google designed the phone. I can't believe this. Even the old Nokia 3310 would lower the SMS volume together with the ringtone volume.
SOLVED!
Recently there was an update for the Nokia 3, and they solved the volume issue.
Well done Nokia!
Update
Hey,

Hello,
My alert slider doesn't work. I don't want to use oos, so I tried many custom roms but my alert slider just keeps being in vibration mode.
When I set it to middle position it vibrates, when setting it to up or down it doesn't. But no matter what I do, phone is in vibration mode.
Thanks for help
nobody?
Try to clean flash Oxygen OS first and then switch, maybe?
My slider don't go in silent, only vibrate and sound works, is it more likely sw than hw failure? I'm just rooted on latest Ota os

Nevermind, i can push it harder then it goes in complete silent. I guess there is something wrong with the slider? Can I try spray a little of wd40 or other electrical spray lubricant?
Ich clean flashed oos 9.0.3 now, still not working.
removed dust, now its working
Cleaned out the dust

My alert slider wasn't working properly. It only went to vibrate and not to silent. Today I cleaned the dust out of de slider hole. And it worked!
Maybe it works for you as well.
Hey, how did you cleaned it?
Mine still technically switches from Ring to Vibrate and Silent but, no matter the position, notification sounds are on all the time, for all apps, from Messages to Gmail. Calls are silenced in Vibrate and Silent modes, notifications not.
It's not routed, with default everything, I checked the settings and everything looks exactly as before. Used to run OK, for about 2 weeks it changed.
If anybody has any idea, would be really appreciated.
I had a similar problem on my OP5 and couldn't figure out if it was software or hardware. Constantly switching to mute regardless of position. FIXED it by changing the back door battery cover which contains new alert slider innards.
