What kind of "card reader" can be used on Treo 750???
I tried WM5torage1.6, but it doesn't work...
Softtick Card Export II works perfectly.
WM5torage does work - you need to go into Settings - Connections - USB to PC and untick "Enable advanced network functionality". At least that worked for me. Good luck.
I tried WM5Storage (v1.73) and found that I could nolonger use the Treo as a USB modem (using a sync n charge cable) - after a Hard Reset is was OK.
Could you check this still works for you heysurreal?
Cheers
Henry
I tried it, and it works for me.
It syncs, conects as storage device, and works as cable modem.

Hello,
I'm still having weird issues with ActiveSync (HTC TyTN). Currently, it synchronizes everything I want, both over USB and over bluetooth. USB only works if I uncheck the advanced network settings in the "USB to PC" setting.
But when I want to install a program that has its own .exe installer, it doesn't work. I have connected the device with the PC (so the ActiveSync icon in systemtray is green).
When I double click the .exe, it starts, but it never sends the program to the wm5 device. The program stays running Windows, but that is it.
I really don't know how to start troubleshooting this. I have reinstalled ActiveSync, and did a hard reset on the HTC, but to no avail.

Apparently, ActiveSync doesn't like being installed as an SVS layer...
(works now)

hello my htc touch pro does not connect with activesync but the phone works perfectly
usb?
bluetooth?
tried other usb ports if usb ?
tried another computer?
yes i have tryed all tha no differance it will not work with active synce i tryed a hard restaand all what i could think of
1. check the manual
2. get newest activesync from microsoft
3. check settings (connection - usb to pc)
4. keep in mind, that it does not work with vista (at least it's not that easy)
5. if all that does not help, google or post again... we should find a solution
Also, do you synch another phone on this same computer? XP/winmo hasn't previously allowed synching two mobile devices. However i see they are offering a mobile "suite" that will help with this. (at winmo site).
When i first got my fuze i went thru this very same thing. Because my kaiser was already being used on the same computer.
yeah my kasier syncs fine
You should backup your data and upgrade your ROM. Which one are you using now? My experiences says it may solve a lot of troubles...
had this same problem a while back. make sure you don't have activesync on your computer looking for the old partnership and try going to settings>connections(tab)>USB to PC and unchecking "enable advanced network functionality" or if that is unchecked, try re-checking it.
Hi.
Im having trouble connecting my Solaris to my pc. Im running active sync 4.5 in xp on my pc and WM 6.0 (SWE). I can manage to connect my phone and pc with bluetooth (works pretty decent) but not with cable? This is a big problem since im in deperate need of a new rom. The phone is charging with cable and thats the only thing it does :S
Ive ran activesync troubleshooter with the result "Couldnt find a USB connection"
I did the thing that they suggested here without any result :S

Any1 know what the problem might be? If u need more information about my setup, just ask =)

have you tried other wire?
I had the same, and just by accident change the wire - and it starts works
hope it help you
Or you could try to reinstall ActiveSync.
But first try with other USB cable.
Try this
start -> settings -> connections -> usb to pc -> the disable advanced network functionality
Hope it helpes
Good luck.
New user here at XDA-Developers and looking forward to enhancing my Touch Pro (Sprint) experience.
I have a frustrating issue! I am unable to sync my Touch Pro with my computer
Before you think "Oh boy, another problem this person can fix with common sense or a search" - I'll tell you I tried everything and searched everywhere! When connected via USB, the device is getting a charge (Plugged-in icon plus white charging light flashing on center button) but my computer does not have that USB connected sound that you get when a USB device is plugged in. Nothing shows in device manager and nothing is recognized in WMDC either.
Here's what I have done so far:
* Uninstalled WMDC and reinstalled from the Microsoft website
* Soft-reset my phone (multiple times)
* Rebooted the computer (multiple times)
* Unchecked 'Enable advanced network functionality' in the USB to PC section. Note: 'ActiveSync' is checked. I did toggle between that and 'Disc Drive'
* On my phone, I unchecked and rechecked the 'Synchronize all PCs using this connection' under ActiveSync>Connections... (USB Selected of course)
* Removed the partnership from both my computer and the phone
* Attempted to connect via 'Internet Sharing' on the phone using USB. Received error 67 and then I rebooted the phone.
* The phone does connect to my friend's laptop via Bluetooth - so Bluetooth sync appears to be working.
* I have NOT done a hard reset. I am reluctant to do this since i can't sync to back up my data (I do not have Bluetooth-equipped computers)
* I do have an HTC Mogul and it DID CONNECT using the same USB port and USB cable.
* The phone is not recognized on two other machines I connected it to.
Due to the last two items, it has to an issue with the phone and not the cable or computer.
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (We have a MSDN subscription) but I had this issue before upgrading from Vista Ultimate 64-bit OS. Note: Windows 7 does appear to use the same WMDC as Vista (6.1.6965)
Please help! Thank you.
Update: I did a hard reset and it still did not connect. Sprint ended up replacing the device under an extended warranty for defective USB data connection.
Ok, on my friens phone it was a broken Phone USB port. Same behavior as ur phone.
For the hardreset, get yourself pimbackup(contacts and appointments) or sbp backup (if all has incl software has to be saved) and save all ur data on the flash card. Then try hardreset.
Right, it smells like the USB port in your phone might be defective when you don't get the USB recognized sound on your PC. Take it back to Sprint.
Regards,
Carty..
Thanks for the advice. I am really hoping that it's not a defective USB port since I'm just out of warranty (I do have insurance though). It looks like my only option now may be the hard reset. Since I can backup on my friends's PC all my ActiveSync items (calendar, contacts, etc), I may not need SPB or pimbackup. I need to back up my texts and settings though.. I hear Sprite Backup is good for this.
What was your outcome because I have the same problem.......
If you do alot of searching here, ppcgeeks and howardsforum...alot of the usb is malfunctioning on the TP. Mine just stopped working one day. That was a month ago. And i tried all the "fixes" nothing worked.
*uncheck advanced start/setting/connections/usb to pc uncheck advance network
*Start/program/internet sharing: pc connection USB and connect
*open it up and check if anything is unplugged
*clean the usb port with qtip
*try different OEM 11pin data cables
*uninstall/install WMDC, yep i have win7- which worked great at one point
*last but not least...hard reset....
Only the usb connection doesn't work. It charges via usb. Video out works. And headset works. Sync with xp a no go.
My pc (win7), work pc (xp), home pc (xp) and umpc (vista)- it wil not recognize....
So I use a micro sd card reader to install apps (cabs) and pics to my pc/ppc.
And also use this useful app via wifi too, WIFI Remote Access 1.0 Beta 5 released
it is free since it is in beta...but very useful...

I am in the same boat as you.....I have tried multiple computers, hard-resets, flashed from SD card a few times but suddenly it will not work anymore. This is ridiculous. I am pursuing a new, different phone since I cannot sync it anymore. I shouldn't have to take the card out, put it in a reader and do things like that. I have spent hours and hours on a fix but nothing has worked. I am at a loss....
A standard feature of the Blackstone and I believe the Leo is to be able to use built in ActiveSync to connect to Exchange (or Google using https://m.google.com) to sync mail/calendar/contacts. This works beautifully on all Blackstone ROMs over the air (you just need to have an active data connection, so not connected via USB cable). I noticed this works on my Leo stock ROM over USB fine, however does not work over-air. The device can browse internet etc so it has an active data connection. I believe this is something to do with the rubbish Telstra stock ROM.
Do you guys have this working on Leo (over air, not USB) ? Thanks.
yes it works fine..
go into your connections and uncheck the proxy if its checked
yes it works with most of the windows mobile phone 6+
