voice commander has ceased to work on my 750v - i keep getting a message that it's "encountered a problem and need to be restarted". just can't get it to work again so i'd like to uninstall it and reinstall the UK version. How do you remove the bundled version?
the alternative is to hard reset but i'd prefer to have the UK version working anyway.
thanks

Yesterday I had to do a factory reset on my WM6.5 phone which forced me to reinstall all my applications. I had a few applications installed via marketplace, but I can't reinstall them because marketplace keeps telling me it can't connect (applications that I had not installed previously using marketplace can be installed without any problems).
So my question is, how can I remove applications from my purchased list ? I checked the marketplace website, but there is no such button and searching the web didn't offer the solution .
I've just installed an update for marketplace, but I still can not install previously purchased (free) applications. It keeps giving me
Error We encountered an error while trying to reach the Windows MarketPlace server

I've already adjusted my time and changed the Aku value from .5.5.0 to .5.3.00. I've even tried installing an older (hacked) version but that didn't work either.
If tried it over edge, wifi and activesync, using different catalogs, nothing works
Btw, I'm now using Marketplace 1.2.1422.0000
The problem fixed itself a few days ago.
Probably was something wrong at the Microsoft side of life
typically, i keep a set of the latest apks i use in a file, and they include all the google apps. I do this because when i flash, that way i don't have to download all the google apps over the air since service in Maui is awful. also, it is easier to send someone who doesn't know how to update their phone one file to flash rather than several.
however, recently Google Voice doesn't seem to want to be recognized when it is moved to /system/app, and when it is there it doesn't work at all even if you reinstall it. it won't show up in the app drawer until it is reinstalled, and after that, it will open but won't download any messages.
any thoughts anyone? did the fix_permissions through ROM manager and fix uid mismatches through Amon, and checked /data/system/packages.xml, and it all looks good but won't work.
ideas?
I am latest stock + rooted. I haven't received update to the new google keyboard 5.x. I know I can download apk and install but I would prefer OTA.
The version I have is keyboard 4.1 and when I go to website using desktop it states that keyboard is already installed.
Any idea how to update?
On your device, go to Play Store, My apps, uninstall, "Yes, I want to uninstall updates", and then accept any further updates. Worst case, you'll be back where you started, but best case you'll get the new version you want.
No, I've just tried this and it's stayed on 4.1, so if you're desperate then it looks as if you'll have to do it the hard way. Personally I use Swiftkey, which is an excellent keyboard you might like to try. It's free and in-app purchases are only for additional skins.

Thanks... I too tried it. Wonder if new keyboard is not made available to our device. Damn you Google..
I alternate between Swype.. Swift key is good but have a gripe that it doesn't show Swype suggestions properly have to back space and then it gives it properly. Had bought it on 10c or 99c deal.

The new keyboard is a very nice improvement. I simply installed the apk. Since, like you I am rooted, I went into the system apps and deleted the old keyboard.
Just grab the arm version from apk mirror and it installs as an update to the current google keyboard. These are safe apks, go ahead. It's working just fine on my n5.
I have used Ivona Kendra TTS for a number of years to read ebooks. Amazon apparently has bought them and now wants to charge for TTS at a rate of $4 per million characters, but requires data to use. I am often out of cell service.
Ivona Kendra was working perfectly on my phone but I reset it to try to get another app to work. Then I restored a backup and got all my apps back, but Kendra no longer works. I don't know if this is due to the restored backup or if something else changed. I have the Kendra .apk file, the Ivona TTS apk and the .obb files, but no matter what I have tried, I can't get the voice to read in the proper Kendra voice. When I choose the Kendra voice, it uses the UK Amy voice instead. UK Amy is still available through Ivona.
I would really like to get this voice back. Since it worked before, I am hoping that there is a way to get it to work again. I am using a HTC M8. I also have a Samsung S5 and the voice is still working as it used to on the S5, but it was always a bit buggy on the s5.
What did you end up doing? Aptoide is where I got ivona Kendra but even titanium backup is giving me please update to New version Everytime. So, I am buying new voices from cereproc maybe Acapella will till I find one. This sucks. It worked on oxygen os 7.1.2 but not on lineage 14.1 OnePlus 3. Stupid reason to revert back but might.

What I found that works is to get the Ivona 1.6 APK. Install it. Then go to the app store and find your apps. Find the Kendra voice you had in the app store and and re- download it. You might have to delete the old Kendra ogg? or rename the folder the original was in. I have done this a couple of times and it has worked.
I can confirm success. I downloaded the APK from
https://www.apk20.com/search/app/?text=ivona+1.6
and installed it. The voice files I already had worked immediately.
For background apparently Ivona is deprecated and replaced by Amazon Polly.

Thanks for that, you are a star, works perfectly
Hi,
This is my first post here. I have an old Samsung Gio (GT-S5660) in good condition hardware-wise. I did a factory reset recently, and since then I can't use Google Play (still called Market then) because it complains about server issues. I can't use the built-in Samsung software update tool for the same reason (connection to server fails), and I can't install Google Play from an sdk either ("Problem parsing the package"). I suppose all this is because all services are no longer backward-compatible with the factory apps on my phone.
So I'm stuck with a phone which "works" perfectly, but on which I can't install any recent app. I'd like to keep this phone for several reasons (but mostly because throwing away a device that still works makes me furious).
Is there any hope of making it functional again with a ROM, or do you think it's too old ? If yes, please propose a safe place where I could get a suiting ROM.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
