This hasn't been a feature I'm crying out for, but would love to know it's available. Your article is as authoritative as any could ever be - it's one I've printed for reading as soon as I get a minute. One hopes this will become a standard OS feature (subject to local law) at some point. When I retire my Magician, I'm going to investigate the hardware mod that should permit this easily, but for now, I think manufacturers have us by the short and curlies here.

This cud not be possible on WM2003...I am directly comparing it with Nokia Devices.WM2005 and Nokia series 60 has same type of File System..I mean Phone memory on flash and a seperate RAM and Expansion slot...so If u can look into the working of call recording in these devices..u can do that...If u need any info on this pls let me know...I can very well explain in details..

ok im just going to say you shouldnt check this post for a couple days because other users are going to flame the hell out of you.
Now, there are things that we here at xda-developers have done to our phone to make them work very fast and become very reliable. I suggest that you look at some other posts and try to figure things out.
There will be a picture of your phone and then there will be different sub-forums, please just look.
You could at least type "what is wi-fi" into google, it'll will tell you the answer in less then a second.
But getting back to your post, im running Wm6 on my HTC Wizard, and it's incredibly fast and reliable.
so what are you trying to get across that you don't like your phone? And what do you mean about deceiving us.. who are we( this thread) deceiving. You posted this in the Wizard Mobile 6 part of the forum but you don't mention anything about WM6? so I dont understand what your trying to get at except that your unhappy with your device which I'm sry for but this site has done nothing but wonders for me and i thank everyone for helping out esp with my questions that are sometimes dumb.

I do not have any problems with my phone!!! Do you know why i dont? cus i took the time to research about my phone and read what can be done to it to make it so much better. Yes when i first got the phone with the T-mobile rom, i was abit let down, but that is cus the rom was badly made. But i am now running WM6 and it is running faster then i have ever had it, and i built it myself use a kitchen, so it is how i want it not some company.
Can i just say that the phone goes for about £200, I could have got you a Good PDA for less that will "read some books , apply few calendars , perform some tasks". And that you dont know what WIFI is and dont want to know, just says alot about you!!! I would just sell it to someone that knows What to do, and go back to using call boxes, (thats if you could work that out)

Maybe this guy needs a palm tx or something, that has wifi and he can read his discovery books on it and use that great palm syncing software.....

First answer I'm 44 years old
2nd I bought that device to help me in my job as i'm a doctor and have many
references , cases , calendars , and my patients' tasks, etc.
by the way the OS now in my device is your Xplore 1.1
In our country the mean monthly income is about 80$ (not me of course)
and this device costs me about 440 $
3rd question yes this device turns me mad as I surprised with it hanged and lost my incoming calls and sms
I tried everything I could and later I entered this forum may be I found an
answer to my problems
It doesn't matter to me if Wi-Fi , GPRS are excellent or not as these are not
of my importance
at all I thought I finished carrying my lab-top everywhere and replaced it with
a mini laptop with but unfortunately I finally carry a hanged device

do you think the video call will ever exist in windows mobile 6?
i would really like to use this option but the wm5 is not an option for me.
i have arround 4000 contacts and wm5 is extremly slow to consult and call a contact. on the other hand, wm6 beta is very quick and i'm addicted to it!
i tried to go back to wm5 so i could use the video call but i quitted a few hours later...
so... is there a prognostic on this matter?

Unless the developers themselves are interested in using video call, it's not gonna happen.
Few people use the video call function... If they don't see the need, then they won't focus on fixing it.
But of course, read my sig.

As a developer myself (PC).. I usually just create applications or fix things that I am paid to do. If Im not paid to do it, I just tend to to things that cater to my own needs.
My point is.. if a ROM developer does not need video call, why bother fixing it? Are they being paid to fix it?
Although monetary benefit is not always the best motivator, most people can also get motivated in doing things for self-gratification, if they are being praised, or hearing people say "thanks", "i love you!!!" or "you're my hero!" also works.

But some of us really need the videocall function and that's the main reason why some people use WM5... Even with an older ROM, we (yes I'm one of those who install back Helmi's WM5 AKU3.5 ROM) are able to explore all Universal’s functions.
There's anyone still working on it? In January videocall issue as faced like a resolving soon problem

I thought there is a cab file to put in the video call??? I tried it on the last rom and it works but incoming caller ID was being pushed out of the screen hence i uninstalled it..

Some of us bought it because it was a good pda with a vga screen, full qwerty keyboard, UMTS (for data) and was at a good price (I got mine for £250 off eBay). Also, point me to a device with the same specs that is cheaper and without video calling... Thats what I thought - there isn't one....
In Australia there is only one carrier that supports video calling and, at the time of purchase, I wasn't with them.
Don't get me wrong - I would love video calling. But if you want it so desperately ask what you can do to help, rather than moaning about it. I do believe that JWright produced a beta for his ROM - see how that went and see if you can improve it.
And, if you aren't a developer:
What are you doing on these forums?????
Register your interest (ie vote in the poll)
Ask, politely, once
Switch back to WM5 if your desperate
Remember: ALL OF THESE ROMS ARE BETAS. Most of them have a lot of issues fixed and I'm sure that the developers are working on Video Calling... just be patient and have faith

Unfortunately.. neither Ivan, Midget, helmi, nor Jwright claims that they are working on video call.
I use CHSO1, but touch screen is not so sensitive, but after I flashed WEEO4 rom, the screen is quit sensitive. Can we pick-up WWEO4 touch screen driver for CHS01? Thanks!
No,many drivers were changed from low layer,all written by Cotulla,they were dependent on a main driver dll,not only themselves,Cotulla have written a main function as a wrapper for many new drivers.
And there have another limit set,you can't make new driver works in old ROMs by simply copying.

I have done some change for mic_fix,but I don't have my device for test because I can't sync my device now,USB wire is not here,but I think it should work,please test and confirm.
About my signature,yes,I came here for her,a girl who have ever fall in love with me from 2004 to 2006,but,when I arrived at this city,she didn't want to see me,and told me that she have been fall in love with another guy before,who worked in a nuclear power station,earning ￥150 thousand CNY/year,although he is already leave her and get married with another girl,she could not forget him,so she decided to leave me again.
I think I can forgive her,that nuclear guy can earn ￥150 thousand CNY/year,but I can't,maybe I can earn so much or more in future,but,not now.

Sorry for late reply xiaojin, I was out of town. Thanks for the updated Mic fix but looks like this has an issue! I am suddenly loosing my Mic in the middle of call every 6 or 7 mins! Still analysing the pattern

I received a message from mssmison. I have just realized that his original device was a Vogue, not a Polaris Sorry, I misunderstood it.
Well, I'm going to change the topic of this thread to fit the reality. My proposal is this: now that a donation link is set up, we could use it to raise the numbers enough to buy a Polaris, too. If you make a donation, specify that it is to buy a Polaris.
I trust that mssmison will be honest and he will get one once he gets the money. I will send him a PM to inform about it.
He told me that he's going to use it as a test device and extra phone to develop for. This could make possible to fix things quickly!
You've got to take into consideration that Vogue and Polaris are similar devices, but not the same, and we have way less developers... I think this is the only mean to keep the dev scene alive.
