Hi Everyone,
I just bought a pre owned O2 Mini S. GR8 pda phone but I found difficulties in getting my MMS working. No drop down list for MMS selection at Messaging? Only have Outlook email and Text Message... !!???!!!
MMS Inbox is not available. But MMS Configuration tool box is there under Menu. I did tried to set up MMS setting but still could not see my MMS Inbox.
Anyone?? Any idea how to fix this issue?
I'm currently running on:
ROM version: 1.5.4.2 WWE
Radio version: 01.09.10
Protocal version: 4.0.13.20
ExtROM version: 1.5.4.102
** I know this is old.... old version. Perharps anyone could guide me through changing to the latest version. I'm a newbie, detail instruction will be very much appreciated.
Thank you and have a nice day.

Check that you have "MMS Configuration ..." available in your Outlook Menu.
If you don't then something has seriously gone wrong. Did you install the "ArcsoftMMS-TuMa.cab" file through the EXTROM or manually? If not - do so now. MMS is NOT available in the Base ROM.
Click it, and just ensure that it comes up and is active. The about should say "MMS Composer Version 3.0.7.11"
Click [ok] and close it.
Menu -> Tools -> New Account
Enter "[email protected]" as your email (doesn't matter what). Click Next.
Detect settings ... wait ... Click Next.
Enter a username "mms" will do. Click Next.
Select "MMS" as the Account Type. Click Next.
Incoming Server = "mms", Outgoing Server = "mms". Click Finish.
Finally ... click "NO" to not download mail for this account.
Now go back to Menu -> "MMS Configuration ..." -> Servers
Edit and modify the "Sample Server" to your required settings ... (which I can't help you with)
Presto ... you now have an MMS account.
That is a qoute from WiKi. It is for setting up MMS on a Blueangle (02 XDA IIs). Hope you have some luck. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks for your instructions but still I'm kinda confused with the followings:
1. Step 2 keep saying connecting...... but nothing happened. I have already setup my mms configuration according to Optus setting.
2. Step 3 where it asks to select POP3 or IMAP4 ? I just click next. So it's on POP3. I tried to find MMS but not available as a choice.
3. Finished up with the rest and it is good that I have the MMS category under messaging.
4. I tried to do one mms to myself but failed as the input field TO will only takes an email address but not a numeric phone number. Gosh !! Somewhere went wrong again..... ~sigh.
I have the MMS Composer Version 3.0.7.14 under Arcsoft. I don't know how to install any *.cab files. Maybe you can let me know. Do you think if I do a hard reset will help in getting everything back in order?? Or since I doing the hard reset, may as well update the rom. What do you think mate ?? Any version recommended ??

http://www.seeo2.com/user/XdaIImini/template/XdaIImini_ROMUpgrade_May2005.vm this is a link I found on 02 site so it should be stable and there should be good instructions to upgrade your unit and it says it has a MMS client. I am sorry I can't help with any recommendations or tips or tricks on the upgrade. I think it may be worth upgrading if you are going to hard reset it as you will loss all your data either way and if you are thinking of upgrading it may be could fix two things at one time.

Thanks Krinkiespijer. It works with the help of the download mms CAB installer. Gr8 stuff. I did a soft reset and the mms folder is still there. No problem at all.
Once again, thanks all people for their help and advises.
Hi
Could anyone help me? I'm trying to set my inbox to sort messages by date. My menu only allows me to sort them by type, sender and content. Although I'm not certain, I think that it should have something to do with the following reg. key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/microsoft/inbox/settings/sortby (value)
Also, does anybody know how permanently filter one's contact list in order not to show the numbers on the SIM card?
Thank you. J.
ROM: 2.13.9.26 PTG
ROM date: 3/6/06
Radio: 02.07.20
Protocol: 413.1.03
ExtROM: 2.13.9.115

What?
When i open "messaging" i have a sort button on the upper right side. Pushing it, i'm able to select either "message type" or "from" or "received" or "subject".
received = date.
This is folder independent, though i don't know why i should sort my sent items by received order...
Is somebody able to create a shortcut (.lnk) or a registry tweak which opens directly a new blank MMS on WM6 ?
That was not very diffictult on WM5 but I don't find the solution on WM6.
Have a look here...
http://blogs.msdn.com/mikehall/archive/2005/08/22/454922.aspx
if you edit the following file and rename it, you might get a reult.
I cant edit this on my PC at work though.
This works with WM5, but unfortunately with WM6, if rename the target from SMS to MMS, it opens only this :
It works for me with SMS on WM6
Make sure you have the option unchecked to automatically open your Accounts list.
Other than that, it should work fine
It doesn't.
The option is unchecked.
That's the limit of my knowledge on this subject
Hope somebody else can help
In my case, I change the Softkeys...
Create the following keys and Strings in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113
112 is the left key and 113 is the right.
Set Default to what you want the key to read (ie. SMS)
Default = SMS
Open = tmail.exe
Now for each key create a new string named Open and set the target path.
Turn off the phone, wait 20 sec. soft reset
Tanks for help.
I can create a shortcut for all programms, that is not a problem. Create a shortcut for SMS is not a problem. But a f...ing lnk for a new MMS is impossible.
I think that on WM6 MMS is a mail plug-in, not an application.
Any other idea ?
I wouldn't worry about it too much, apparently in the newest version of arcsoft MMS they seperated sms and mms again, so the old link should work again. Now I just have to find that thread again to see if someone put a cab file for it yet.
Great news ! Thanks Xeno1
Sorry to raise your hopes only to dash them again. Apparently, so far at least, the only way to get this to work is to install it by cab to a ROM that was cooked without MMS. If you install it over the top of an already installed version or cook it in to the ROM MMS quits working all together. I'll let you know though if anyone figures out how to fix it.
OK, thanks for the news.
One and a half year later, I try once again. Is anyone able to create this shortut ?
This is not the solution (It woud be to easy) :
Code:
"\Windows\tmail.exe" -service "MMS" -to ""

+1/bump! Really interested in this shortcut.
Hi,
Tried to search, but not sure what im searching for.
Basicly I'm on Tmob Flext. I can send an SMS to 150 with the work BA (IIRC) and they send me an SMS back with my current ballance.
Can anyone think of an easy way to have a new SMS created and sent to 150 with the click of one button on the start menu?
thanks for any help anyone can offer...
(i'd rather avoid using mortscript for this unless nothing simpler can be sugested....)
create a LNK file with this content:
19#:MSINBOX -service "SMS" -to "150"
Thankyou!
Is there anyway to also append some text message conent to the link?
regards
Tony?
Hey guys, I used to hang out here when I had my old HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125) and I remember this place being very helpful and knowledgeable. So I've come back in hopes of fixing a couple small "flaws" on my new Samsung Epix.
1. Is it possible to change the default input for the recipient when composing a new text? When I open a new text window, the default input for the recipient's name is in numbers.. but I would like it to be letters so I can just spell out the name instead of write in the phone number.
2. Can the "Reply" softkey in the Inbox of messages be changed to "Delete" like it is in the Outlook E-mail profile? I like to keep my inbox relatively empty and having reply on that soft key is kinda useless.. delete would be a lot more handy, and it's the way the Outlook profile is already setup.
Thank you all for your help
