New Section for the HTC Faraday (Cingular 2125) - General Topics

Can one of the administrators start a section for the HTC Faraday (Cingular 2125). Now that it is being sold in the Cingular stores it is becoming quite popular

QTEK BRAND NO MORE /HTC TO SELL OWN DEVICES!

Hi all, not that I usually post but I thought id just let you know some info 'hot off the press' as my friend works for HTC... HTC are now going to sell there own devices web site :
http://europe.htc.com/
You will also see a new 3g device : http://europe.htc.com/products/tytn.php
The HTC TyTN AKA Hermes.... my mates had this on test for quite a few months, apparently Voadfone will be having this device soon as there new 3g one...
Anyhow... lots of new info to keep you lot happy.....
happy world cup!
I only hope this won't be the end of i-Mate.
Qtek and i-Mate were the only manufactures to deliver these devices besides telco providers.
Now that HTC takes over Qtek, they can rule the market, and push i-Mate in a corner.
I'm afraid that it won't be a fair competition.
i've been told the hermes (v1605) will be shipped by Vodafone UK from 10th July.

HTC didn't take over Qtek; Qtek has always been HTC's own brand! Same with Dopod which HTC has aquired recently.

HTC Hermes

Now that the HTC Hermes, in the form of the HTC TyTN is out, I think the HTC Hermes deserves its own forum.
i agree it have umts and questions about that features is bound to come
and if it dont have it's own forum wazard owners are bound to think they have it too or a new rom can add it
I think it will have it's own forum after where ever the device gets released first.
Yeah, and I've been waiting for an HTC Apache forum to show up here. ...?

Just had to do a quick search to remind myself what the Apache looked like Did this device never take off? Any carriers providing it?
HTC Apache is the UTStarcom/Audiovox PPC-6700 (aka XV6700)
Verizon, Sprint, Telus Mobility, Cellular South, Alltell, and Qwest are among the wireless carrier providers that offer their branded Apache.
Apache is CDMA, so an unbranded phone is highly unlikely.

The definitive list of names for the TYTN

Can somebody please tell me if they have bought one of these phones in ENGLAND (ONLY INTERESTED IN ENGLAND). A simple answer of Yes, contact details of where the phone was bought and the cost of the phone AND/OR contract details.
HTC TYTN
QTEK 9600
IMATE JASJAM
ORANGE SPV M3100
XDA TRION
T MOBILE MDA VARIO II
DOPOD CHT 9000
XDA XION
VODAFONE V1605
HERM 200
I think that these are all the same phone. (correct me if I am wrong)
Kind Regards
Duncan.Mc
Yes.
Several people have bought the Voda version (from the Voda shop in Watford) I believe.
Personally, I will wait for either the Orange or T-Mobile version (they will look different - better IMO - to the Voda version and will also have a better data package).

Recomend phone purchase Used

Ive had a MDA w/tmobile and loved it but it just wore out and failed. I had it up to 260 mhz . I here there are other htc phones that are faster, I am with Tmobile so I need sim support. Am looking at MDA's now and there are many for sale.
I wanted to get some imput before I buy so I dont make a mistake if there is somthing better, I had no problems flashing
Thanks

ATT Tilts/HTC Kaiser - 400MHz (the best phone in my opinion, and dutty just made it better)
HTC Touch Dual - 400MHz (used it for a few days, I love it, but no WiFi)
There are so many out there now, but those two is my favorite. Its only 39.99 to unlock them.
HTC Hermes is what I was using. Great phone and its 400Mhz. Unlocking these should be free following instructions here on the forums.
Ebay also has a bunch, look for softbank xo1ht, dopod 838 pro, htc hermes, etc.
Edit: I believe the Hermes is the MDA II if I am not mistaken... aka t-mobile wing. You might want to call t-mobile and tell them your mda broke and you want to switch.

No it's the Wizard, Thanks for the reply. I am looking for 400mhz but the prices are $250.00 and up I might have to stick with T-Mob Wizard that only 204MHZ stock. But I will look for a bit.

If you are out of contract you could sign up with Sprint. They have a deal 500 minutes, unlimited text, unlimited data. 30 bucks a month. HTC titan (like wizard but faster/more memory/smaller) is like 250 after rebates.

Thanks, I'm stuck for about a year.
You can always put your MDA up on eBay or Craigslist, and put that into your new phone.
But T-Mobile doesn't have powerful enough Windows Mobile devices as ATT

Hi, no proplems at all with tmob (but I'm not in fl); I use gprs edge net access a lot. My phone is full of all kinds of apps thanks to the fast & stable TNT rom. Check out the Hermes WM6 section for it & many other great cooked roms! Have Fun!

Fuse or P4600

Is there a forum for the HTC (AT&T) Fuse or P4600? I looked down the list and didn't see one. Looks like the Raphael is the same but it is a CDMA phone on a different carriers.

AFAIK, XDA doesn't usually separate models with different radio chips. There will probably be lots of information about the Fuse in the Raphael section, so that is your best bet.
at&t fuze(aka p4600) is the samething as raphael
head over theere and have fun
