hi just got a xda mini brand new can they be unlocked or not
You should really use the Search button before posting. Also, you should check your model-specific forum for information regarding the Mini.
You really should either hit the Search button above, and look for XDA unlock tool, or with one click into the Upgrading, Modifying And Unlocking forum, you'd see the third post, with attachments, which reads "All in one sim unlock tool".
Not that hard, is it?

My buddy who always roots my phones moved. I can someone please tell me what I need to do to get my att hox able to flash roms? I know the one click root but then what? Sorry In advance if this is a repetitive topic.
check out the development section for this phone. Everything you need to know will be there. Read up before you attempt anything. Make sure you understand the process. Help is always available here, just search first and I'm more than positive you will have success.

Everything you need is in the Development subforum, as mentioned.
To see the threads in a organized index, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671237
In particular, check out the links under "Root", and also the guides near the bottom of post #1.
Just start reading up as much as you can. If things still seem unclear after reading, and doing some searches, come back and ask specific questions.
I would learn adb and go the manual route. The guides are easy to follow. I never seem to have success with the one click root method on 1.85. If you're on 1.73 then use the one click.

I hope I'm not asking too much but hopefully someone can help me. I unlocked my bootloader and rooted my AT&T HTC One X 2.20 with TWRP. Obviuosly I'd like to flash a rm like CM10. Can someone either give me a link to a you tube or website that can give me "step by step" instructions on how to do this safely. I really need the directions to be very specific as i don't want to lose my phone due to the process. I've searched online and just can't seem to find the directions. Or if possible just give me the directions here. Thanks in advance.
There's a thread on this on the first page of the Q&A section, try looking there

Is there an all in one, 1 click root for the Asus tf300t? I just got it and did an ota. it now reads jroo3 c.u-epad-10.4.2.12-20121122. I bricked my touchpad and do not want the same fate for this
Hmm root is not hard I guess you are already on jb so you like me will need an unlocked bootloader which can be done from Asus website. Then just root there is a tutorial in the tablets general forum.

Hey, no flaming here. You are a senior member, please maintain calm.
Please read these posts before starting to complain,
1. Rules for posting in this forum
2. Rooting your phone after updating to JB
3. All tools, firmwares, ROMs and guides in this thread.
As per the general consensus there is no 1-click root for JellyBean firmware. Only way to root is to unlock the bootloader.

Thank you for your polite response. This is not as easy as rooting my T999. Hope I get the hang of this before I return it
When I tried to install the root, I got a green android with a red triangle....
Would you be so kind to remove this thread and pose your question at the right place? You have more chances of getting the right answers and this public space stays organised

In order to root first you need to unlock your tablet. Beware, this will void your warranty as Asus registers the serial no of the device while unlocking and there is no workaround.
If you are okay with the above, you unlock the tab. The unlock app is in Asus website under downloads.
After unlock flash a custom recovery (most prefer TWRP).
Then from custom recovery flash the insecure superuser I.e. su files.
This is how most people here do it. Others may correct if I have misled OP.
The green Android in red triangle means it could not flash the update file.
In case of OTA the green Android will have spinning animation indicating the flash.
Please see the videos posted in the development section (sticky) before proceeding.
This tablet is a lot different from other Android devices, read up before messing up.
Good luck.

First, my apologies for not placing this in the Q&A forum. I would move it if I knew how. In what part of the Android phone does the locking software reside?
If I root and ROM my phone is the carrier lock removed? I know unlocking a phone is illegal without carrier permission, or if I buy it for full price. What are the details about the locking software? I apologize if this is covered in another forum but I didn't find it when I did a search and search again. Thanks for any help.

who can show me s-off ?????
i find the best rom for htc desire s, please .......
You'll find guides to unlock your bootloader and s-off in the stickies of the development forum with a list of all the roms and anything else you need. We don't do 'best roms' we do 'best roms for you' in other words. Flash a few roms to figure out the best one for your usage. If you really run into problems then you'll find lots of help in the 'help thread' i would suggest using search first though (it's actually quite good when it works) otherwise use Google and just add xda to the end of the search.

Seems like new users don't take the time to read the stickies. Those particular thread are important as they hold some troubleshoots that previous users have experienced and solved.
Cheers and good luck to Op but u don't need luck as the methods work, many users have s-off their phones using the same thread.

As mentioned above, we don't allow 'best ROM threads' as they usually turn into a pointless argument.
Also, while we don't mind helping you we want you to help yourself so you should test out the ROMs for yourself so that you can discover what YOU like the most.
As also mentioned, you can find guides for S-OFF via the stickies.
Please search for your answers in future as that's part of the forum rules.
