xda 2 rom upgrade failed again now displays dark screen with (serial 1 v1.06) on it im at my wits end. im a bit of a muppet when it comes down to this kind of technology please help i am desperate.
There are many threads in this forum that address this problem.
The main point is that what you are looking at is the bootloader screen. It is currently in serial mode, if you place the XDA II in the cradle it will enter USB mode. At that point you can simply execute the .exe ROM upgrade and leave it alone until it tells you it is finished, which could be quite some time.
Give it a go!

Hello!
Will very much appreciate some help with my kaiser!
I've downloaded a program from ebay to unlock the phone, the first program was the flash Hard-SPL program. This guy has included all the flashing programs (radio etc.) onto one program to make it easier, but before you run hardSPL a message comes up saying:
"Your device will now be flashed, follow the instructions, when the loading bar appears on the PC, pay attention to your device as soon as you see the three colour screen you must REPLUG usb, do so immediately then WAIT PATIENTLY for it to flash"
Now i took "replug" to mean unplug then plug in again... which is odd because the hardSPL program doesnt ask you too. SO as soon as i saw the hardSPL loading bar at 0% i unplugged and replugged the USB. Then my heart sank as a communication error inevitably came up and i had to exit the program.
Now my phone is stuck on the three colour screen (with white bit at the bottom) with the current text displayed on the top left:
KAIS130
SPL-1.93.Jump
CPLD-8
then obviously "USB" at the bottom.
I've tried resetting the phone but the button wont work, i dont want to take the battery out incase i'll completely brick it!
PLEASE HELP!!!!!! ($30 donation for the most helpful reply! - i know its not alot but better than nowt!)
A simple search for hardspl or the likes will result in the results you're looking for. You may also want to read the kaiser sticky (the very first post) as it may become helpful.
try downloading the HardSPL from this site and running the file as per the instructions. May still be able to recover. Good luck m8!
I had this problem way back when I got my Kaiser. I simply reflashed HardSPL and then flashed Duttys ROm. All fixed after that
money is not everything...
downnload the HardSPL package from my signature. unplug and replug your usb cable from you computer. then run the hardspl with the attatchede exe from the download.
if need be you can reach me via msn messeger [email protected]
OK i've been good and searched the forums, and found its OK to take battery out and put back in... it started no probs *phew*, although now i'm very scared to flash!!!! will post my progress...

As long as you HardSPL first there is absolutely NO risk. Been tested to death, works a treat. Good luck m8!
Follow instructions in this post, should keep you ok. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334678
***changed the link, put the wrong one in, sorry!!! ***
we here at xda don't do stuff for money .. donations r appreciated. the most important aspect of the site is to help u learn and understand the workings of ur device. since u r new to rom flashing/device upgrading i highly recommen and suggest it as a requirement to read the first sticky under the kaiser rom devvelopment forum.
as far as hardspl goes im sorry if u paid one ebay to some scammer as full hardspl including instructions on how to use it r available free of charge here on xda thanks to olipro, pof, and jocky and others.
if u still r stuck than i suggest u ask alltheway for help
Hmmm... tried flashing hardSPL and it turns out it makes no difference i took the cable out the program doesnt work! Comes up with a connection error anyways!
Is it because im on vista?
To be honest i have no idea what hardSPL actually is (sorry) im just tryin to get the simlock off!
Is there a hardSPL tutorial thread somewhere?
(sorry for being king of the noobs!)

thats what happens when you purchase stolen software on eBay. That sim unlocker was created by a user here and some dueche bag is selling it on eBay you should ask for your money back and make threats to report him.

well put good sir
okey doke! will do that.
Am still having trouble. I saw on the sticky page a video tutorial for unlocking - what was the program he was using? Its different to the one i'm using! I've also tried one which runs off the phone which still doesnt work.
I think it may have something to do with the fact when i plug in the phone you can hear the windows chime thingy TWICE, then its connected...
When i run the flash program and unplug then replug the usb cable i can only hear the chime ONCE, is this something to do with vista????
OK it just decided to work, i did the same thing as before except this time it was ok.
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR REPLIES!
Oh and i found out that the program the guy was selling was indeed free and was indeed from this website: i noticed at the bottom of the program was this message:
==Kaiser Debug Output==
==Made by Olipro - 2008. www.xda-developers.com==
-Version 2.0-
SPL Flashed!
It also said this is FREE software!!
On Vista - fully close MS mobile device center.
Put the phone in bootloader mode and connect to the usb port.
Run the unlocker (don't unplug usb)
Be sure you flash to a wm6.1 first before unlock your sim. Olipro's sim unlocker works for wm6.1 only as I remember.
Good luck!
i thought it was 6.0 ...maybe for a different unlock tool? how many are there on here for the Kaiser?
Hey there guys
I have posted this exact same post on aximsite, but I figured that I might as well post here too since maybe more people would read it.. thank you very much!
I'm quite desperate right now. My Axim x50 is tottally dead. Let me explain: I have it for about 2 years now, and when I bought it, it came originelly with wm2k3, and about 3 months later, Dell shipped a update CD with WM5 (it had just come out) and so I made the update succesfully, and had this WM5 vrs. A01 installed till this week.
Then, this past weekend I decided to update it, but I ended up bricking it by trying to force install WM6 MagLite's version for X50v (mine is x50[mid]). Well, as we all know, that would do the job. I was just so exited to do the update I didn't bother to read the threads.
Well, now my axim is tottally dead, I decided to read all posts and threads from all sorts of forums on the web, specially AximSite and xda-developers, and so I no longer consider myself a total noob, since I have read so much.
However, none of the intructions seem to do the job, because my Axim won't load the SD bootload screen at all! And I am doing it correctly, pressing wireless+power+reset. I have done that before and it worked. I think somehow the unsuccesful instalation of wm6 must have corrupted something and is now impeding the device from eving bootloading...!
The only thing it does is turning the power led red when it's connecet to the battery charger, then it becomes green when it is full (as usual). Won't turn on though. If I try to turn it on, to reset, load that test (rec+power+reset), or load bootload, nothing works. The only time something happens is when its on the PC USB craddle:Then when I try to bootload, the power light flashes in red pretty fast, then goes off again and that's all.
Yesterday, it all of a sudden showed a screen saying I had a problem on the memory, and invited me to press I think Contacts in order to solve it by recalling the standard configuration, but after I did so, it died again.
I'm completely desperate cuz I really liked it, it was part of my life already after so many years, and plus in my country (that would be Brazil) such eletronic devices and simply unafordable (I bought mine when I was an exchange student in US on 06), so if I actually screwed it up tottaly, I'm pretty much gonna be aximless forevermore.
I'm sorry for the gigantic post. I made an effort to post all information I could. I'm desperate and willing to follow any procedure for bringing my PDA back to life. I have the USB craddle if that helps, FAT32 SD, PC card reader, etc. If you guys could give me any help I would fully aprecciate..
And I fully endorse the words from the other members thanking you guys that are always trying to bring up something new for PDA lovers across the world, specially for us Axim users, forgotten now by Dell aparently..
Sorry for my possibly bad English! Thank you very much in advance.. I'm available for further explanations about my situation, if any of you is willing to help..
Cheers from Brazil!! Best regards to u all!
Oh, and I'm new here, so I hope I have posted this on the appropriate place. If not, I'm sorry, I guess I can move it then.. Thanks again
And I meant to say that if any of you actually read this and understands that there is pretty much nothing I can do, then I would appreciate if you tell me so, so that then i can simply get over it.. thanks
have you tried to run the ruu you were talking about that they shipped you on a cd for wm5?
Yes I have indeed, however it requests that the Axim is connected to PC via ActiveSync (it was designed to intall wm5 especificly on wm2k3 running devices) and that is not possible, since the Axim is bricked and won't turn on at all.. If only there was some other way to acces it trough the PC or something..
But thanks for the atention josefcrist! Please do share any other ideia that might come up
My kaiser have problem.
I have a help thread in "Kaiser general".JUST now I connect MTTY.EXE cmd> task 2a
now I cann't flash anything to kaiser. error [264]. how to do,help me !
kind of unclear why you are using mtty to begin with. It is a powerful application so be careful.
[edit]DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT CHECK OUT THE THREADS MENTIONED AND THE INSTRUCTION PROVIDED FOR MTTY
ouch I did the same. I was trying to get that nasty radio from hell off my tilt.
Don't worry your tilt is not bricked. I thought it was over also however if you read the instructions and start back from the same spot you can continue. ( I also remember downloading a driver because vista would not see the the connection)
DON'T WORRY YOU DON"T HAVE A BRICK
TRY THESE THREADS

if you absolutely get to the limit and cannot go any further and you are about to throw it away or if you are stuck between a rock and a hard place (can't buy a new phone, but current one is a brick) then send me a PM.
Well I see the PM I sent you is no longer valid
Just to be clear NEVER task 2a your Kaiser unless you know what it will do first.
I'll close this thread, please use one of the task 2a threads (I am subscribe to both) by GSLEON3 or speak with Mr. Kayne.

Hi fellow members of XDA!
This is a question I putting to the community (hope to receive more answers than my previous question.
I've been browsing around the web for the last few day in search of way to make my own tablet pc. I think I found some interesting things to get me going and I do have an old laptop that I think I could easily use for my adventure. And so, now that the Hardware part is (in theory) solved I've reach another problem. The OS part. I know android is open source, that most likely I would easily put linux running on the machine, but somehow I want to make it windows mobile capable. Call it a whim if you want.
After reading some stuff around this forum about rom cooking (and I'm no programmer) I have more questions than answers.
So my big question is: If a XDA Rom Cook had access to the device specs, could it build a windows mobile rom for that same device? What specs would he/her need?
Another idea of mine is: I have an old blue angel and a prophet stopped at home. Could I salvage parts from them to the tablet pc?
And here is another question: Where can I get the touch screens, casings and other tablet pc components? Does anyone here knows?
Thanks for reading. I'll start on this project soon and let you know how it goes.
Cheers
hey guys let me start by saying that i am a computer tech (by trade ahah) that lives in Australia.. i have recently been employed at a mobile phone repair center and have been thrown right into the deep end by my boss lol.. i find repairs on phones very similar to some laptop repairs. it seems to me to be just a more delicate procedure. im not here to promote anything of anykind. but i do need help..
my current skill set does not include flashing and or unlocking. installing an OS onto a phone or doing general software checks and repairs does not seem to be as easy than a computer.
basically my question is about flash boxes. My task set to me is to find one that is able to unlock mobile phones that are in use today in Australia.. from nokias to sonyerricson. U all get my point im sure, Im new to it all. what in everyones opinion is the best flash box or process to be able to learn how to 1st pick one that will do the job i want and secondly be easy to learn how to use. video help or tutorials bought with these boxes? any information i can find out would be very helpful and most useful to me..
thanks alot in advanced guys and im sorry to bore everyone with this pressing issue i have....
KDZ firmware updater sorry im pressed for time but if you lookup kdz updater on here you'll find it
