MMS compatibility between SPV E200 and O2 XDA II - General Topics

Hi,
A friend of mine recently purchased an Orange SPV E200 and tried to send me a short video clip via mms.
All I received was a blank screen, followed by a text message from O2 stating that my XDA2 does not support it.
This cant be true because I've received clips from him via bluetooth and by exchanging SD cards.
Is this a compatibility problem between the XDA 2's mms function and the file type received?
Is there some software out there that can enable me to view these short clips when sent via mms?

Ask you friend to check with the operator that his handset profile is defined on their MMSC

MMS Problem

Hi,
I got spv c600 n upgraded it to wm6
when someone tries to send me an MMS message, the phone connects to GPRS, but i doont get no notifications of receiving any message.
When I click on the message icon, i only get outlook e-mail and txt messaging. no MMS
can anyone one help me pls
I have been using WM6(the andot version) on my Cingular 2125 for about 3 months now and love it. One issue that I cant seem to resolve is the MMS. I know that if you go into the TEXT MESSAGING and then click Menu, New, and then you can select either SMS or MMS. But I cant receive any MMS, unless I go to create a new one, then it shows that I have a received one, but by this time it is already expired. I cant seem to find any settings that affect the MMS Gateway or such, so any help would be great.
Update***
Now I seem to receive the message about a week later.
What WM6 ROM are you using?
Try Nitro's or EA's version. There is also a setting as to whether you prefer messaging to use GSM or GPRS somewhere.

Got similar problem here with wm6 Eng_Standard v.3.1 running on c600 - I can send MMS but not receive - instead of that I receive SMS notification that this MMS was placed somewhere on GSM carriers servers. By pressing Menu>Send/Receive the top bar shows 'Error Synchronizing' message... Is it possible to change some settings to fix that? Any suggestions, please (my HTC TyTN on the same carrier copes with this issue without any prob - Sends/Receives MMS's both ways).
I suggest having a read of this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=343434
.. it may answer a few questions. I have MMS working perfectly on o2 UK on the "perfect English" ROM with the settings I posted in the above thread, no delay in receiving messages.

Sending SMS with KPN (Netherlands) on WM

Hi,
I have KPN (provider in the Netherlands) for my WM device. Everything is working perfect, expect sending SMS text messages.
1. They are not sent
2. They are sent with a huge delay
Sending text messages on a Nokia is working perfect. The HTC connection manager configured my WM device for KPN, so that should also be not the problem.
I had this issue on a Touch HD, Raphael, Diamond etc with different rom's.
Anyone else also go the same issues and/or a solution for this ?
I would go to settings->phone-services
voice mail and text messages get setting
and verify that the sms nr is the correct one for your provider

[Q] Galaxy Relay (T699) MMS Problems on Orange UK

Hello,
I have recently purchased a T699 from the states as I like having a qwerty keyboard.
I have rooted the stock rom & removed some of the T mobile bloatware & samsung crap (I am on Orange in the UK)
One problem is I can receive MMS picture messages, but not send them.
I receive a "server response error", followed by "MMS not supported by network"
Orange have advised it is due to the sending frequency failing slightly outside of their parameters, apparently you can receive mms with a tolerance of +/- 5 but only send with a tolerance of +/- 2, i assume Mhz ?
They checked the APN settings which were all fine (which made sense as I can receive them, although they display as a slide show, but still display) , but were perplexed by the error messages when sending, hence the above somewhat random explanation above.
They then advised I go to xda developers for an answer !
Any advice / solutions, all would be welcome & appreciated
Edit: Weirdly I just asked the wife to send me a mms and I could send that back. I still cannot send a new one though !!

galazy s7 video mms problems

I have a unlocked sprint galaxy s7 gm930p phone I am on the sasktel (bell) network in canada. I have been through the settings talked with sasktel, and samsung and no help. What is happening is that I can send sms and picture mms messages and receive them fine. I can also send video mms messages, but when I send one to myself or someone else sends a video mms to me it comes to a separate text and states "XXXXXXXXXX sent you a message with a media type not supported by your handset: content: Type: video/mp4" or it may be video/3gpp. I know that I can view the video because I send a video to myself from my phone that I watched but I cannot view it when I receive it back. I checked with sasktel and they indicate that they show the message being sent fine on their servers, so I am at a loss.
thanks
