Back-up Battery

I've got a O2 XDA, the main battery is fully charged (green led constant) but it still shows backup as 25% CHARGED. PLease provide some insight.
Thanks.
If you leave it on charge overnight and it is still showing 25% then it would seem the backup battery will soon need replacing. Go to this link for the location of the backup battery. I think you will need to send this to the authorised repair centre otherwise you will invalidate warranty by opening the phone and breaking the security seal. Why they design a phone with a battery that isnt externally accessible is a bit dumb or maybe its another money spinner for the repair shop.

Thanks for that. Its actually a Wallaby, does any one know where the battery is located, and what battery is it?
It will still need taking apart to locate the battery unfortunately. You will need a small flat blade screwdriver and a T6 torx driver.
Dunno Where You Get that From?!?!??!?! The XDA I has NO Backup Battery and If it did it's Attached to the Back of the MAIN Battery? Come on Cruisin! Didn't you have an XDA 1? sometime in your life?
Yes Collins I have stripped many xda's, and he will need to take the xda apart to access the battery, I dont think I said there was a backup except when referring to xda 2 which was not what the guy was after unfortunately. I read "O2 XDA" as "XDA 2", I was also thrown by the 25% charged statement becuase every xda 1 that I have had even with wm2003 doesnt show any backup in the settings.
When you open the xda using the T6 torx and small screwdriver you will find that the battery is firmly attached to the backplate of the xda, if you lever up one corner and then apply a little force it will lift up. Having ascertained that you have an xda1, any reading you are getting under your power settings backup battery is a glitch, if the main battery is showing good then you should ignore the other part. Which rom are you using?

Phone turns off after charger pull

hi, i have an inspire 4G bought off ebay. the phone was used for a month and was kept inside the box for about 6 months. now, i started using it again and after 3 weeks, the phone is now switching off immediately after removing it from the charger.
i took it to HTC store, and they say it is a mother board issue. which i doubt as the phone is workin well when connected to the charger. a battery change also did not help.
any suggestions? please help
Sounds like a bad battery. Battery may be reporting charged but may not be putting out the required voltage.

well, the HTC guy reportedly used a different battery. i live in India. anything can happen here. ANYTHING. he said it is a motherboard issue and it would cost $200 to fix it since the phone is not having any warranty.
but my question is, could it actually be a motherboard issue? i don't have issues using the phone hooked on to the charger.
You can pick up a new 3rd party battery very cheap from the net. I would try that first. Yes it could be the motherboard as anything is possible in India.

[Q] Anker Problem - battery voltage too low

Hy guys,
Please help me.
Has I read such positive reviews of this battery, I finaly decided to replace the stock one with an Anker 1900 bought in Amazon.
I replaced today but since then I have constant FC in all aplications. I already full wipe, install ROM again and again but still no luck. When someone calls me, the sensation rings once and then shut-off.
In recovery says "battery voltage too low" - what is this and how can I solve it?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide because I can`t receive any call right now.
S-Off, Viper 1.4.0 with Bricked Kernel, Anker battery 1900, Hboot 1.27.000 Locked
Kernel settings with no UV
Battery might be loose in it's casing. Try to see if there is a wiggle. If so, take a small piece if paper and wedge it on top of battery to insure the contacts are tight and there is not any wiggle. This had helped many people with this issue. Give it a try and see if it establishes a better contact. Hope this helps. Best wishes
If it still reads low voltages, I would return the battery. Possible bad battery. But try the paper trick first and see if it's just loose contact.

Thanks realsis.
I will try but it is very strange.
With this problem I change again to the sotck battery (which always worked with no issues) and the problem persists. When make or receive a call the sensation hangs out and I have to reboot.
Right now what I am afraid is if some how I damage my phone with the new battery. Do you think that will be possible?
Cheers.

I don't think, that anker damages your phone, i replaced the stock xe battery with the anker, and ive no trouble. I ordered it on ebay from laptopmate and it works fine.
You most likely won't damage the phone with that battery. It sounds like it's faulty, so I'd advice you to contact the reseller from Amazon, maybe they've got a solution. If there is none, they will most likely replace it for free.

The power button

My power button broke. That little flat cable teared up a bit. Can someone please help me find one? Im from Serbia and there are no spare parts like that here. I soldered a button from an old nokia phone just so i could use my phone temporarily. If i take my phone to service they'll tell me that the motherboard needs to be replaced and they'll charge me more than the phone is worth. So i need help with this from you guys. Can someone find this for me on ebay? Please...

[Q] Can't get replacement battery to work

So the original battery in my Nexus 5 is swelling at the bottom and has popped my case off, it still works fine and doesn't even get warm but I know it's dangerous so I ordered an OEM replacement off eBay. Yes yes I know eBay is risky but this is the first time I've ever had an issue with any battery or anything off of eBay and when I order batteries off eBay I make sure they're from the US only to lessen the risk.
Anyways I got my replacement battery and put it in but nothing happens. I tried charging overnight, holding the power button 10+ seconds, holding power + volume down 10+ seconds, turning the phone on with the old battery then putting the new battery in as fast as I could (I was out of ideas) but no luck. When the replacement is in I can't get it to turn on, not even the power off-battery charging screen. I told the guy my issues and he sent out a replacement and told me to not worry about returning the old one but... it's the same deal with this replacement. My charger is fine, my USB cord is fine, my houses power outlets are fine, there is nothing I can do on that end to fix things, my phone just seems like it either doesn't see the battery or refuses to accept the battery. I've examined both the replacement batteries and they are identical to my old battery with exception of some numbers, no spelling errors or knock off brand symbols. The biggest difference is on the back my old battery it says Sony but on the two replacements it says LG.
So can anyone give me a suggestion before I ask this guy for a refund and have to deal with returning these batteries?
Pictures are of the two replacements next to each other.
It's just a dud, sellers are usually cool and resend easily because of that. They usually ship about 25 - 40% so once you connect the proper components and hit that power button you should automagically profit.

Looks like I'm going for the refund then... you'd think if you sell batteries you'd keep them taken care of or at least test them before shipping. I can understand one bad one but not two in a row.
Agreed, some sellers just leave stuff in bins until ordered. If your third one doesn't work, I'd check your connections. Obviously your logic board worked before you replaced battery right?

Well, seeing as his old battery works fine, except for it having bulged - I'd say these batteries were stored in harsh conditions or something that rendered them useless...
Your only other resort, sadly, is to order one from a different seller... hopefully you get your issue fixed!

Yeah the phone is fine, I'm typing on it now with my old battery installed back in it. I was just hoping I wasn't doing something right and these batteries are good cause I really shouldn't be using this bulging one but it's hard to live without a phone these days. So it looks like I'm just going to ask for a refund and buy from another seller asap.
So just to give an update to everyone I ordered from another USA seller on eBay and now it's working. I have a feeling it may be a knock off battery though because the battery life is horrible, there's no info printed on the back like my original battery, and every once and awhile taking a picture will make my phone shut off and not turn on without plugging it into a charger. But this will hold me off for now, sadly I may be looking for a newer phone since I already want a bigger screen and newer phones seem to have better battery time (though the Nexus 5 was never known for awesome battery life).
Just an FYI for anyone that reads this while shopping for a battery, do NOT buy from "xcentrikgroup" on eBay. He sells duds and will take weeks to refund your money.
