will the xda usb cradle work with the xda ii?
thanks
yep
should work fine just a matter of fact if it will fit into its cradle?
anyone tried it? if not a hammer should work fine
as my xda1 was stolen
and i got a xda2
i have 2 cradles and use both of them
1 for work
and 1 for home
so yes i know for a fact that they work just fine
(to tell you the truth i think it even fit the xda1 cradle a bit better then the xda2 cradle )
nice 1 well when this brocken boxed xda comes thats my xda2's cradel sorted lol
cheers for the info mate 8)

Is there a dedicated in Car Kit for the new XDA II yet? I have read that the original XDA kit could be compatible but am interested in knowing if an updated kit has been launched and if so where I can order it.
Ed
I informed at a shop selling MDa's about that :
They expect the O2 XDA/MDA II carkit in Januari 2004.....
There is a car kit, which is used when you have Tom Tom installed, but I believe you can purchase of eBay. XDAII will fit provided you take off the battery cover first.

Steve do you have any links to or pics of this unit? I presume removing the battery cover is to gain access to the internal bus connection socket.

http://klingtech.dk/produkter/qtek-2020.php
here in the buttom there is a car kit which they sell as a xda2 thing
not sure if it's just the old car kit though
Rudegear,
I am currently in Denmark and trying to decide if I should get the Qtek 2020 here or wait till I am back in the asia-pacific area and get an Xda label.
Anyway on the klingtech site they state 32M ROM, is this correct? The Xda site says 64M ROM.
Thanks,
Nick
not sure about the rom size but as far as i know then all
Himalaya's are the same hardware wise
if you should buy or wait i think should be a question of price vs. waiting
but klingtech is not the cheapest place to get it it's cheaper here

Can't seem to find a provider of XDA car kits in the US and I'd heard that some people successfully used a TomTom kit so I looked into them.
I have a trip coming up next week so I'd like to buy a solution ASAP.
This is a car kit for TOMTOM rather than the XDA-2 By that i mean its a simple holder for the XDA-1 (the xda-2 will fit but it tight unless you remove the battery cover) it power the XDA and the GPS thats it, It is not a car kit for a mobile phone
John
Ok thanks for the quick response, if it'll fit the XDA II (even snugly) and power both it and the GPS then at least I'll know what I'm getting.
I'd love to get a regular car kit for hands free but have come up empty looking for a stateside retailer. Anyone else out there know of one?
The XDA-1 car kit dose work with the XDA-2 and also you can connet your GPS to it, but there is no aerial connetin the XDA-1 kit.
I use the simple OMTOM Cradel in my car with a BT200 bluetooth headset, but i have friends who still use there old XDA-1 car kits
John
Hi folks,
apparently the headset that came with my XDA II device and which I use for listening to my music is in trouble. The left earphone is not working correctly. Most of the time it's completly mute but sometimes I get it to work by playing around and bending the cable right above or beneath the mike (the little thing you use to adjust volume, take and end calls). So I figure it's a loose connection/broken cable. To check on this I'd like to open the microphone part but I don't know how. It looks rather fragile and I don't wanna make things worse.
So what I need is a hint how to safely open this device. And if all fails maybe an address where to get a new headset. There are only a few original headsets on ebay and o2 Germany doesn't sell these headsets.
Thanxs for your replies.
Z.

the headsets on ebay work perfectly well and are a real bargain. bought 5 pcs for 1€ each recently, hope those will last as long as my xda (waiting for it to return from rma).

Searched for XDA 2 headset on ebay UK. Got nothing but the official ones selling at 8 pounds each which is still a major rip off.
Anyone here know of any places to get the official headset (or even an unofficial one that has the mic/control buttons on it?) for a cheap price?
After buying a fortnight ago, I can't get used to Windows Mobile 6. So i've gone back to my N95 and am selling this . It's got all the stuff and is in mint condition, the original screen protector had a big scratch in it so i've replaced it with one off eBay.

just picked up one of these Dual Desktop Charging Cradle & Sync Dock for $19.99 and im loving the ability to charge phone and extra batter while synced to pc/laptop to do my file transferring ect. phone fits in the charger very secure so no worries on moving cradle if needed plus the base of the cradle is a hard rubber so it wont slip.extra battery fits in back out of the way and fit there is also secure. has the led lights to show when charging and when fully charges for both phone and spare battery. had lots of cradle chargers in the past and for the price and how its works this is best one i used. also these cradles are Compatible without or with a Slim-Fit Case
The mobile goes in the dock mode¿? Because i know there are some docks than don't do that. And thanks for the review.

not sure what your asking, i can provide more pics if needed or answer any questions? phone docks in the front and can be connected to pc/or whatever you want and extra battery charges in back of cradle.
I think he's asking if the phone recognizes it's docked, and goes into dream mode (which you activate in settings). I'd like to know that as well, but regardless I may get this, thanks for the review!

Right, it's that what I want to know. The mobile has a special mode which recognise the dock and change the screen appearance.
