Unlock XDA - General Topics

I have downloaded the prgramme from the site for unlockign the XDA but my PC does not seem able to run it. Can anyone explain why, or what I may need to enable it to run? Also, does anyone know whether O2 in England can refuse to unlock my XDA? I've had it for more than a year. Thanks.

think you need the seriel cable and this program if it's xda1
and you cant use this tool
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/UnlockWiz/Wallaby/XDAunlock

the XDAunlock.exe tool should run on the XDA device not the PC ... copy it to the device using normal activesync and the cradle and run it through the file explorer on the XDA

[Q] Quick developer unlock wp7

Hi there, I saw these posts about developer unlock for windows phone 7. I tried to do every single one of them, but somehow somewhere I always get a mistake... I want to root or however you call it my windows phone 7.5[mango] and i am a noob when it gets about that.... I currently possess HTC Trophy, and i want to do this because i want to be able to send and transfer files via bluetooth. I also tried to install xap files via ie on wp but it say file type not supported... Anyone know a way i can install .xap file on my windows phone 7 that it's easy?
No such thing as a quick developer unlock for HTC phones.
This is the best guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1271963
Nope
Nope, i need a tutorial on how to install .xap files, and on a link you gave me it says to install .xap file with xap file deployment tool... how the heck am i gonna do that when i can't open xap files since it's developer locked???
3. Download this attachment to your PC: HTC Interop Unlock.xap
4. Connect your device to a PC running Zune and install the xap-file using any xap-deploy-tool. You don't need to start the app. If it starts automatically, you can close it right away.
Currently, the only ways to dev-unlock a Trophy (or other HTC phone) are to get an AppHub account or use a custom ROM.
hmmmmh...
ummm, how do i do that? how do i use or set custom ROM? is there a guide or something... ?
For more device specific instructions and custom ROMs, go to the forums for your device. HTC Trophy, you said
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=809
In order to load a custom ROM, you need to downgrade and change the HSPL/RSPL. For the Trophy see here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1503298
As far as deploying XAPs to your phone from your computer, many options exist, but you have to be at least developer unlocked, and the only way is through AppHub right now. Thus, maybe flashing a custom ROM would be a better way to go.
Good Luck! and hit Thanks if you found this helpful.

OS problems

I have been using a windows 7 pc for a while to flash fast boot's. But, recently, I bought a windows 8 pc, and now (no matter what I try) I can't get adb to work. Did any of you guys manage to get it to work? I am screwed?
You can always try using a live CD or run a distro off a flash drive for dedicated developing. Puppy linux works beautifully. Buy a cheapo 4gb drive from a retail chain!
Make sure you're using the correct driver version, win 8 has a finicky install process where it draws the files from the internet even if it's not really correct.
Try manual installation.

Click to collapse
Give more info. What ROM you use, what OS on your PC, what software and drivers and so on. Nobody can help you without minimum info

M on official tmous 4.1.1 unlocked bootloader rooted , pc running on win7 64 bit p.s. i could copy earlier ...but nw can't even copy a 1kb file
Try qtadb or Android commander software
from HTC One
Try a different cable?

Or a different usb port if you have a 3.0 usb...try a 2.0 usb instead. Also you might consider updating to latest HTC software/drivers if you didn't do that already. Check if it's working on another pc with the same cable...if it does, it's not the cable, it's the pc or HTC software or drivers
Just forgot...you said you're on stock ROM. That has an option specifying how phone connects to the pc via USB...it's in HTC Sync mode right?
Sent from nowhere over the air...
Nash...it automatically connects to Usb Debugging and MPT...and it doesn't have any other optionthn mobile network sharing

You've tried on other pc with same cable?
Sent from nowhere over the air...
My daughters s has been doing that same thing lately tried numerous cables n same result. Also on Windows 7 64bit. Uninstalled drivers and did not help.
Ended up using airdroid to transfer files.
Rooted and running dark jelly rom btw.

Are you still able to view the SD card VIA file explorer ?
If you can view your card from the phone then you may have a bad cable or a bent pin
Is your phone still taking a charge ? if not you may have a bad port on the phone
I would try a different cable and or switch USB ports
I had the same issue and it was due to a bent pin on my cable as mentioned above.
I was transferring files with WiFi File Explorer until I bought a new cable.
I can copy from my Mobi to Pc easily...the only thing i can't do is to copy from Pc to Mobi.....

It boots but windows is corrupt. I have the iso recovery from Microsoft but I don't feel like paying for something I already dropped 300 dollars for.

I agree I ran into same problem not to long ago. I had to rerun windows again. Maybe someone else on here has an answer. I would love to know myself.

If you have access to another machine then connect the hard disk as a slave, install a program called belarc advisor and see if that can tell you. I used it in the past on older machines and it could extra serial numbers used.
The next step....
You need to get into command prompt either via Windows if at all possible or using a boot disk such as hirans boot CD then once in command prompt use "SFC /fixall". I think the fixall switch is correct otherwise try /checkall .
The SFC program is a utility which basically checks the entire install of Windows and if anything is wrong such as corrupt files it will fix it. Look it up on Google..
Hope that helps but if you need any more then give me a shout

In all honesty as long as the machine hasn't had any hardware changed you should be able to run the Windows disk again to fix it and it shouldn't ask for the serial again.
Is it a branded machine?
